I had rented a car on rentalcars.com and the rental company was Routes.ca; worst experience ever! I did not have any support from rentalcars.com or from routes.ca to solve my problem. In fact, it was a scam!!! I would have expected that rentalcars.com to have done some sue dil on its suppliers!!! Here is my story and I learnt the hard way that there were similar horror stories like mine!!!
I landed in Calgary on March 12 around 4:20; I called Routes rental for a shuttle. I’ve been given instructions where to wait for the shuttle and been told that a shuttle comes every 7 minutes. The person never bothered advising me that the office will be closing at 5pm! Unthinkable for an airport rental car counter closing at 5pm on weekends! I called many times with no one to answer and no shuttle has ever shown up! I ended up renting another car at much higher price due do the last minute reservation. Since, I called many times, left 2 VM and 2 emails, I could not speak to anyone at the counter and nothing has been resolved. The worst customer service ever experienced !!!!
When I finally could speak to someone, I’ve been told that I can’t get my car as the offer expired! It is outrageous because I have prepaid for the car rental for March 12 to 20, so legally this car is mine during the term. This is beyond bad service, this is dishonest business practice, this is fraud to me! I will report this to regulatory bodies! Please stay away from this rental company! PS I travel a lot and I rent often cars and never got scammed like that before!!!!
