Reserved and paid for car with full insurance with a guaranteed shuttle service. Upon arrival at Liverpool airport at 11.00 pm, I phoned the company to get picked up only to be told I could either walk 20 minutes to the Rentalcars agency or pay £4.00!I paid the fee and was taken to the agency. As I had booked an early morning return flight I asked the agent what time the shuttle bus would take me to the airport only to be told that I could either take a taxi £15 (if one was available, or do the 20 minute walk!
I was then asked for my credit card to cover costs??
As I only have a debit card I was told I would have to pay an extra £35 per day of the rental! At this point I left the agency, refusing to take the car as there was no guarantee I would make my flight back in time and the company obviously can not be trusted with any hidden charges upon returning the car. I was stranded in an industrial zone but I finally made it to my father's funeral thanks to UBER. I have since written and telephoned to no avail, their lack of customer care is disgusting. Don't use the, go with Europcar, I've never had a bad experience with them.
