If you think ordering from them and receiving terrible service is bad, then you can't even begin to imagine what headaches the Seller part of Takealot will give you! Just getting your stock to the warehouse is a hassle and NO One in the TAL departments know what is going on. I had to ask an external Courier company what was going on to eventually get my stock to their DC's. And don't think that their big and confusing user guide that they make you study is any help, because it is out dated and when you phone the customer service line, they don't even know what to do or what is in the manual themselves. The hoops you have to jump through and the amount of plastic that you have to use to ship with them is terrifying. I felt so guilty for all the plastic as we pride our selves in using safer products for the environment when we personally ship to customers. The warehouses are constantly loosing our items and don't think they tell you this. We only have 8 products we stock with them and I feel for the people who sell more items. If I don't watch my stock like a hawk, then we would never know. Then you have to go through a stock discrepancy process that take days to finally hear that your stock is indeed missing. Then they still make you pay the fulfillment fee and success fee as if it were shipped to a client. So even though they pay for the missing or broken stock, it is still not reaching customers. This is a weekly scenario now. We have only been selling with them for 4 months now. And it gets worse. Their stock reports don't reflect correctly with the sales and the actual stock items you have jump around with NO explanation. For example, if you shipped shipped 5 items to TAL and all of a sudden it shows you have 10 and they make you pay storage fees for these items that magically appeared in your Seller portal.
There seems to be NO communication or order within this company. Maybe when they started, but now that they have made their money, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SMALL BUSSINESS or about keeping high standards.
The customer service staff are basically just there to hear us complain. They cannot do anything to help you has it gets escalated to the person in charge, and don't think you get to speak to "These" people. And if you do not hound them EVERY day, your problems are forgotten or pushed aside. If you were to look at my phone bill and my emails, it is JUST Takealot.
Every single part of dealing with selling with Takealot from getting stock to them and their "Daily Deals", to just plane recon of my stock has given me headaches and sleepless nights. And you would hope that the money you make from selling with them is worth it....NOT ONE BIT! I am just waiting for them to find more of my missing stock, then I AM PULLING Everything OUT!!!
And please do understand. Every issue I mentioned hear and the ones I didn't I have taken up with TAL directly. I am yet to be contacted by the manager or person in charge of these issues as again, and I quote "They do not speak to the sellers directly." NOW THAT IS TERRIBLE SERVICE!
I feel everyone has a right to know. If this was a one time thing I wouldn't even be here typing this review.
