What’s going on with Takealot?? Last orders I’ve placed are getting delivered later than usual. Even after paying extra for delivery. Tracking not getting updated. Seriously!

Man on the inside So watch out for this scam from takealot... They have an inside person stealing your refund money, we sent back an item and requested a refund because the item kept breaking... Right after the refund was given the amount started being spent on airtime vouchers. When we receive the email of purchases we tried to log into our takealot account and the password was changed... According to takealot it was not on thier side, our email was hacked but there is no evidence on the email to suspect this.

i oedered a Samsung Galaxy phone. Undersneath the item showed"What's in the box- Charger and travel adaptor". I received an order with no adaptor. So I sent it back. When I enquired about the missing accessory, they said that the adaptor is not included in the package. I then sent the a pic of the ad highlighting the accessories. They did not even respond on that qauery. I was told that the money will either be refunded or kept as credit for the nect order. I then told them I want to re-order the item. The same thing happened. They sent me a note indicating that the item does not have a cable and a charger. The promised delivery date was set for 18 December. On confirming the order, the date changed to 24 December. Come 24 December, no order was delivered. I sent an email enquiring about the order, Just to find out the order had been cancelled. Don't know wwho authorized the cancellation. An email was sent to me asking whether I would want to re-order or have the money refunded. I opted for the refund. They say that refubds can take up tp 7 days to reflect in your account. Believe you me the money was in my account the very next day. This order was orinally placed on November 30, and by December 26, I was still sitting without the order. I tried 5 times to call their customer service department. Everytime was like R25 or R30 airtime, plus the free air from my service provider. Which makes it double the amount of airtime. They were so busy that they could not attend my call. One time I was served by a male agent, but that was like at the end of my airtime. I then asked him whether he could call me back. He said "Yes". Before I could ask his name, the call was suspended due to insufficient airtime. Up to today that person never returned the call. I am so dissapointed in the poor service delivery of takealot. Believe me, I will never order from them again.

Takealot - dispatch team took it upon themself to split a big order I placed on 11 Dec with half delivered on the 23rd Dec, not the 20th as indicated, and the balance of the order cancelled on the 24th due to no arrival. Some Christmas gifts were in that order, so the level of unhappy, inconvenience caused the day before Christmas was inexcusable. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there…. A second order I placed on Christmas Day, due for delivery this week, has been delayed until January 14th. I’m just going to go ahead and cancel that order as it would seem Amazon.com have service delivery and customer care prioritized.

I am a takealot customer for years, and the one consistency with them is the unreliable delivery processes. In the past few months, I've placed multiple orders and 70 percent of them were either defective, incorrect or incomplete orders. In the latest order, I ordered a table and chair set. Only the chairs came without the table. Now it is a long tedious process, I have to repackage the chairs, box it, tape it and wait for their delivery team to decide when or if it is appropriate to pick up. Then, it goes to head office, gets 'assessed' and decision whether it is fine to replace or refund. After this they most probably won't give me the item I ordered. Utterly frustrating and unacceptable, especially when it is reoccurring multiple times. I ordered fans a few weeks ago that were marked 'remote controlled, they came without remotes. So instead of just sending the missing items, I have to return, and reorder or something of that sort. Terrible inconvenience, especially as a takealot more subscriber. How do we hold them accountable??

1 star because 0 stars is not an option! I ordered a couch for my brothers 21st birthday and saved for months to buy this for him. I did extra side work to be able to give this to him. The couch was delivered with defects but we could live with them. However a few days after delivery when a man stood up to get up from the couch, the arm rest collapsed from a little bit of weight pressed on it. When we decided to log a return, takealot ignored the request and showed that the couch had been collected and the return was completed - the couch was still sitting in my brothers house. We logged another return and the couch was collected. Upon review takealot stated that all of this was due to wear and tear and therefor will not issue a refund. We were also then told that the couch will be returned and that if the couch is not received the couch will be considered abandoned and takealot will take it and no refund will be issued. 1. How can wear and tear be done in less than a week? 2. How can takealot be happy to take R6000 from a young girl but not take responsibility for their poor quality and service. I responded to the email and explained everything in detail and the email was ignored and I was told that the couch was already on its way back to my brother. This is shocking service and I want this corrected!!

Not at all happy that Takealot have removed the free delivery option for over R500! I now look on other online platforms to make a purchase. TakealotMore is not the answer for everyone. Both options should be available.

So this is yet the 4 The time.I want everyone to see how bad this company really is sending so many copy pasted responses from agents and not even trying. I attached pics below beware you will get this responses on a simple error they made for weeks at times before anything gets done. I ordered/paid/ no delivery, on app on delivery morning i check my app shows delivered?No rmail tracking to show it was delivered to me. considering no delivery was made. I follow Up, and they send usual template response they gon look into it next day driver shows up,not sure why. he ask me am I sure he was not here? So I asked him do you remember my face or delivering to me personally yesterday? You werent here here. He then looked so confused. next thing i lnow they send me email updates to show Their driver does not remember what happend and will be in a hearing ? how is this my fault yet again. and exact same thing with my previous packages. I guess the driver stile the parcel bt obviously they cant tell me this as a consumer. Just dont know what to do bout this company they do what they want even if they made a mistake. no accountability, and makes like its the clients fault. No compensation either . any suggestions anyone?

Takealot are thief's and stealing from hardworking honest people. I bought HAGENZ 8L air fryer, used it as per normal. Next use the LCD was flashing and the product did not work... so logged a return placed it in the box and dropped it off at a pickup point. Got an e mail saying they do not accept the return because the cook booklet was not in the box which is a load of BS... who keeps the cookbook?? I replied to the e mail stating that is no reason to deny the return and we want the item replaced as my wife is mostly alone at home with our three-month-old baby (I work away) she uses the air fryer for her meals, it makes her life easier. They did not respond to the e mail and returned the broken air fryer. My wife found the booklet after extensive search, we included the cook booklet with the defective air fryer in the box and submitted the return again, surely everything is fine now the silly cook booklet is included, and we can get a working machine back. Received an e mail from returns department now stating that we have misused the machine and accusing us of breaking the product and according to their policy they cannot replace the item and will send the broken machine back to us. I responded to the e mail and said to them do not send back the faulty machine and I want to talk to someone higher up. They did not reply and ignored my e mail and sent the broken item back. We used the machine like any other person would, it is faulty and poor design, so it needs replacement we are less then 6 months in the 12-month warranty. If they do not rectify this problem, I will close my Takealot account and use Amazon from now on. Like I said be careful they are thief's and stealing.

As a regular customer of Takealot, I will never ever purchase from Takealot again. I bought an Airfryer only 6 weeks ago, and mind you its still under warranty. I only used it about 4 times, and the last time I used it on only 180 degrees, the elements overheated and melted the inside of the Airfryer. I submitted a return for a refund, and they declined the refund saying its user damage?! how in the hell do "I" burn the inside of an Airfyer causing it to melt? Only people with common sense would know its impossible and its very obvious that the unit malfunctioned!!! Its impossible to get a hold of the department that does the assessment to get answers! because they clearly now this is wrong ! Phoning the call centre and all they say is they will escalate?! I have been dealing with this for almost a week just to be told its my fault, and not getting any clear answers from them as to how they came to the conclusion that I burnt the machine?! Takelaot must close business for being unlawful!!

quick deliveries, expensive but not outrageous. shockingly bad refund/return service + very difficult to contact. no support email or phone numbers on their web page. the 2024 phone number is 087 362 8000. ordered 4 "flame tamers" for a gas braai, only 3 arrived, but was billed for 4. i contacted them immediately, with photographs of the package. after struggling with 3 or 4 non-responsive call center calls + emails to resolve this i gave up + logged a return. after the return was processed i was credited for 3 items, not 4. this set off another series of unresponsive calls + emails. finally resolved after weeks + weeks. i now go out of my way to avoid using takealot

This was my first time ordering by Takealot and Im so dissapointed. I ordered a perfume only for Takealot to send me stickers can you believe this. It already showed me the poor standards that this company go by and just like that I will maybe never order again from them.

On an order of 4 items 2 were incorrect. I ordered a Paw Patrol Taking Chase plushie for my son's birthday and what I received was a cheap knock-off. It is nightmare inducing! It cannot talk like advertised. It looks more like a Chihuahua than an Alsatian. My son would be traumitised if I had to give him this monstrosity! I also ordered a balance bike for him in green and brown and they delivered the wrong colour! Its black. If I wanted a black bike, I would have ordered a black bike! They are easy to complain about Temu and Shein undercutting them but Takealot cannot even get a simple order correct! I have never had ANY problems with my Shein & Temu orders. Will not order from Takealot again.

Takealot has launched a subscription service and ever since then their orders take up to 3 weeks to be delivered. Even if it says 3-5 days for delivery after payment an email will be sent confirming your order with a delivery date that's 2 weeks or 3 weeks from date of payment. It almost a scam what they are doing

Criminal drivers, packages get stolen now and you are less likely to receive any help.. Used the app for years, now they just hire anyone (criminals).. If you don't believe me search for any email or phone number to report a scam, fraud or theft... You won't find any.. Hence the drivers get away with it.

We bought a Samsung Fold 5 in November 2023. Worked very well but in June 2024 the screen lifted where the fold is. This is obviously an fault with the phone. There is no damage to the phone, the screen just lifted because of the fold, and now it doesnt work. It has a 2 year warranty. It was returned to takealot and email after email go unanswered. I did not expect this from them. All emails go unanswered. We have always used takealot because of the service but after this, we will not use them again and the more reviews I read the more I see that I am not the only one being ignored. MRRN-GVRN4-B9QM

On 9 May 2024 I ordered coffee beans and ribbons from takealot.. The coffee beans is a non-returnable item. I paid R958 for the coffee. Instead of delivering coffee beans and ribbons, takealot delivered dog collars to my house. I logged a return and returned the dog collars, and takealot send the ribbons, but never the coffee beans. Since the one item I purchased was "non returnable" they took the money and there is no way to get it back. I contacted them many times on the customer care link, but they NEVER get back to a person. There is no phone number or live chat option anymore - customers are at their mercy and if they don't call you back, you simply have no recourse. On the website there is no way to even follow up or check on the tickets I logged. There is no way to contact management!

Disgusted with Takealot return service ! I ordered an expensive cellphone case and unfortunately ordered it for the wrong cellphone make. When the item arrived it was already opened with the seals and packaging in poor condition. When wanting to return the item they have declined the return due to opened seals on the box which is how we received it! They refuse to refund me, credit my account and have not returned the item either. So they have essentially taken my money without actually providing anything in return. I also had to phone the call center to find out why the return could possibly have been declined as no follow up email was sent to me regarding this.
