I’m two days post partum- delivered baby boy at 36 weeks and 6 days and have had to endure SO much pressure and wrath from the system for having a baby “under 37 weeks” I just want to say I’m so thankful to have had the knowledge and preparedness to advocate for myself and him through these past two days. Every single person who has intervened in or attempted to advise me about breastfeeding uses the methods distinctly discouraged here. I had a pediatrician and a nurse forcefully shove his head onto my breast and had to ask them to please take their hands off him and let him guide himself. I had one lactation consultant use the words “force with love.” It’s just unbelievable and I know I would be terribly miserable without the guidance and support from the Thompson Method. Thank you.
