Yodel have tried to deliver my parcel on 5 occasions, but courier consistently went to an incorrect address. On one occasion I even had the courier contact me by phone at which point I verbally and by text gave him very detailed directions to my house which he ignored. I then asked him to take the parcel to my local parcel shop which he said he would, then didn’t. I was then told I’d have no choice but to collect from depot over an hour away, but this would be a wasted journey since all the calling cards would have been left at incorrect address, and anyway it is unfair to expect me to go out of my way to collect this, since it’s their failure to deliver correctly or follow my requests that meant it wasn’t simply left in my safeplace or local parcel shop. The “CEO complaints” service took a month in “investigating” this for me but usually just asked more information which I’d already provided, which then gave them another 48 hours (often longer) before their next reply. Then they just copy and paste standard replies that don’t address the real issue, or parrot what I can already see from the tracking info myself. I asked the agent I spoke to again and again for the parcel to be sent out again, instructing courier on the correct address (what3words code and detailed directions have been provided in the app from the start so have been available to them all along). This has dragged on for a month and now the parcel has been returned to the sender in China and they’re telling me to ask them for a refund - claiming this has “resolved” my issue. Truly laughable but infuriating at the same time. Don’t bother with the live chat (they are a call centre in India that just copy and paste irrelevant responses) and the phone number on the Yodel website under their big headline of “talk to a human” is even more of a joke as I’ve tried every single option and not a single thing you do puts you through to a live agent. Yodel should be ASHAMED for treating their customers in this way. From now on I will request before every single one of my online purchases that Yodel is NOT used for delivery, and will certainly never post anything with them myself as they are a bunch of incompetents.
