Maybe I misinterpreted the search criteria, but I was actually looking for a reconditioned part. It seemed pointless to me to replace a starter motor that has just stopped working for a part of the same age, with the possibility that would then soon fail because of its age. One person who 'phoned said the starter motor was off a car that had only done 34,000+ miles. That seemed very odd for a car that is over 12 years old, and so I was very dubious about the authentic nature of the call.

I asked NOT to be contacted by phone to be contacted by EMAIL ONLY but your representatives KEPT CALLING ME and on more then one occasion my manager was behind me. where I work you can't answer the phone as it's a petrol station even thou I never answer my phone, customers and my manager could hear it , and I nearly lost my job because your representatives can't read a REQUEST that I made NOT TO BE CALLED . Once I explained why I was getting the calls and that it wasn't my friends calling he just gave me a WARNING . SO CAN YOU TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES THAT EMAILS ONLY MEANS JUST THAT EMAIL NOT CALL or better still allow your customer to complete the form without putting a telephone number in so they have to us email

Most all quotes were excessively overpriced. In some cases used items were more than alternatively priced manufacturers refurbished prices. Considering these prices were for items that are 20 years old I feel this was totally unreasonable. Also why is VAT added to the delivery charge? Needless to say I won't being purchasing from your suppliers.

Very quick to get replies, so good from that point. No mention of mileage and condition inside or out of any of the engines, so nothing to assure me I was getting a clean low mileage engine with a good long warranty. Would be good to have a filter for high mileage and incomplete or less than great condition engines inside and out.

I had quite a lot of quotes for the part that I requested. Most were more expensive than approaching a breaker direct and some had premium rate phone numbers to call if you wished to buy from them. I did not buy the item this time but I have had parts in the past and have been very pleased with the service

I got quite a few offers for the used part for a Honda; prices for the same part varied by a factor of over 2 - between £32 & £80 (mostly £40 to £60). I found I could get the same part (new but not necessarily original Honda) online from USA for as little as $20 (plus delivery). Seemingly no similar online offers in the UK! Why not? Finally after ringing Honda I tried a Honda dealer and have ordered the part (not in their stock) for circa £36 incl. of VAT. Delivery to them next day!

I found one site very helpful and polite. When I asked if the price included vat they informed me that there was no vat on used parts. I then phoned another site to ask why they were charging vat? the engine I was looking at was £295 + £10 delivery = total price £366! I was told they weren't charging vat and when I asked why the amounts did not add up he put the phone down!

Very prompt reply, however the prices quoted I can get the same locally. I asked about a nearside or left hand and all the quotes were for a R/h. As far as I am aware the sides are taken from the inside looking forward. I have managed to get one cheaper than your qoute. I would use 24/7 again and make decisions from there

I got some competitive quotes but there are no details of the supplier. You have to phone an 0703 number! It's a shame 247 Spares isn't more upfront like 1st Choice Spares (which I ended up using instead).

not enough information on the quotes, engine miles, year of car, the company that is making the offer, as people can tell you what they want over the phone and there is no proof, the company that I've bought the engine off said that it had done 50,000 mile but it looks older than mine!
