“We used dream doors to install a new kitchen. From the start to finish we had a good service from James 1 & 2. Any issues were dealt with immediately, Great tradesman Nick and Tim. We achieved the design and look we wanted. All in all pleased with the result. One disappointment, the present fuse board amperage could not accomodate the combi oven we wanted until after work started. so had to change plans to an traditional microwave or stop works and more costs.”

“I have been in business for 40 years and I have genuine 100% 5 star reviews. I spoke to a checktrade representative and they said I would require to give them details from a few satisfied clients. MY GRANNIE MY AUNTIIE AND MY SISTER IN LAW would probably satisfy their requirements!!!!”

“coming from me as a trader they will except any trader, no matter the quality. as a trader if you have a problem it will not be sorted out. it will be much better for your company to not use checkatrade and put the money into google ads. do not believe the sales team when thinking about singing up, pure lies”

“Check a trade will not publish bad reviews. If you look on their website there reviews do not tally with Google reviews. Also look at traders - they may have the odd negative comment here and there but there are no bad reviews as check a trade will refuse to publish them. They are paid by the trader and will not risk losing their income from them. CHECK A TRADE IS A TOTAL SCAM.”

“I used Samuel Langford of Langford Building and Landscaping Services to lay artificial grass in a garden I own. He put a lot of effort in to get the result I wanted and the garden now looks much more acceptable.”

“I would give zero rating if I could. We had the misfortune to use a cleaning company via Checkatrade.com. They carried out the job 2 days before the probate sale completed, they knew what was required when they came over to quote and I specifically took them round the house and gave clear instructions for each room. Unfortunately we couldn’t supervise the job on the day as we don’t live in the area and booked them in good faith given the 5* reviews and professional website. Vacuuming was done so badly, we had to redo every room from scratch, this was 1 day before completion. The 100% 5* reviews for the company cannot be genuine, they knocked off £50 discount from invoice but they didn’t deserve to be paid at all, will never use Checkatrade again, lesson learned.”

“I've been with Checkatrade for a few years they have now changed the way you get your feeds terrible will not be with them much longer no reviews no feeds the customer has to fill in far too much on the reviews to be bothered will the leaving them in March contract ended”

“Plumber Jon Taylor, in West Sussex is prompt, very skilful in his field, reliable, knows about boilers and has reasonable prices and works to a high standard. When you need a plumber use Jon Taylor, he’s ace!!!”

“I posted a bad review and they removed it without even asking for my point of view. They have refused to look again and now I have to wait for a freedom of information request to see why they removed my review. No wonder they traders have such good reviews if they just remove the bad ones”

“Used two traders “recommended” by checkatrade and had 2 abysmal experiences! Folks need to get wise on these affiliations and swerve them. Checkatrade and many others don’t care about customers at all they do what all the cowboys do and make money for doing little to nothing! Word of mouth and using smaller local traders to your property is generally a good way to go! Do your homework, go check some previous works and make sure you have a full on written contract SIGNED!!”

“kentbuildingworks.co.uk rubbish, diabolical service. don't use this company. waited 2 weeks after the quote and contacted them everyday. no response. Turned down other builders to choose them and no communication. Don't ever bother with these guys. rubbish rubbish rubbish..... I would never recommend them in fact I would deter people from using them.”

“Daniel Ripley boiler and bathroom company Ossett Wakefield left a 77 year old woman living alone with a blocked drain and two holes through her bathroom wall, didn't get a reciet, invoice after paying £5000 for a 6ft by 6ft bathroom, he said he would sort but stopped answering the phone, came late every day turned up 10am sometimes 11am”
