Well the website looks nice, buying the insurance is simple and they make it look like you will be well looked after. Unless that is you need to claim. In which case you find your actually directed to AXA who will refuse to pay out in any circumstance. I couldn't go on the booked trip because the flights were cancelled and the country I was going to (Norway) imposed a quarantine on arrivals from the UK on the dates I had booked. This seemed to be covered they had even sent a specific email about Covid 19 being covered back in March. Yet they tell me because the hotel offered to move the booking to a different date (which I declined because no idea when I will be allowed to go there without quarantine) they consider that "equivalent" to a refund. Their terms and conditions state this is the case when offered a voucher (which I wasn't) or a refund (which the hotel refused) but not a change of dates. When pointed out the conditions don't say this I was told they "can't put everything in the terms and conditions". I doubt that's legal but it's left to me to take them to court to prove it. I took out insurance to avoid the stress and hassle but they only cause more stress and hassle. As far as I am concerned they are liars and cheats. Don't use them and don't waste your money.

Unhelpful garbage paid £65 for a two week policy, dates had to be changed due to covid 19 and the new dates made it so I was flying home 5 hours into another day, so I needed my policy extending for 5 hours. Fair enough it states its classes as a day so they gave me a quoet of £175 for one day knowing full well I cas going to say no, told me to call my travel agent and make the holiday a day less. Unhelpful legal theft

I have taken a silver policy for past 3 years. Now, on trying to contact to make a claim it’s a wall of silence and avoidance. This company is almost certainly a con. Why are Trading Standards allowing them to remain in business? Avoid at all cost.

LOCKDOWN FROM 13th of MARCH 2020 and NO REFUND!!! Policy Number: 27941xxx I have annual multi-trip travel insurance with this company and this travel insurance policies supplied by AXA UK. I never ever applied for a claim and called today, asked for partial refund from 13th of March 2020 and wanted to cancel my policy due to Covid-19 pandemic. All Major companies includes AXA offering partial refund due to COVID-19. However , when I spoke Coverwise on the phone , woman said "no we don't". FIRST, I will report you dodgy Coverwise to AXA UK and then Ombudsman as well as Trade Standards. Money Stealers. Don't trust this company !! AVOID!! BENEFICIAL INFO FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHO IS IN SAME SITUATION: Martin Lewis - (A.K.A - Money Saving Expert) also confirms that on Television as well as his website that We people have right to cancel our policies and entitle partial refund. You dodgy Coverwise and all other Customers must read this info. RESULT: BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, HORRIBLE COMPANY!! NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

Took out insurance to start on the 10th Sept. Doctor advised on the 9th that I should not travel so cancelled the holiday (on the 9th) and made a claim for cancellation of a holiday that was due for 10-19th September. Have been told they will not pay as I cancelled the holiday in advance. Fortunately we were also covered with a different company who have agreed to pay in full.

Please do yourself a favour and choose a different company. I have no medical conditions but because I've been to the GP before they are not paying out. Ridiculous.

Terrible claims service. They wangle out of paying any claims. Do NOT buy insurance from these cowboys.

After the collapse of Thomas Cook and being stranded in the USA I had to buy a return flight with another airline to get home. The policy wording clearly covers this event but after Spending morning arguing with four different AXA claim agents AXA are refusing to send me a claim form. I now think my year long world wide policy is worthless. Strongly recommend you avoid this company. Planning other trips just glad I’ve found this out for a flight cancellation and not a serious medical condition.

Wait until you need to claim. What an experience. Partner in Spain and has inflamed intestine.and in severe pain. They advised to go to nearest hospital which we did. We gave permission to contact our docs. My partner went to see docs about knee last year . No meds no treatment and was told to keep on doing what she is doing. Thought nothing more about it. Axa/coverwise refusing to pay medical fees about intestine as she did not declare the visit to the docs about the knee Can't believe it but it's true

Our flight was delayed in Denver due to a mechanical fault so we missed our connecting flight home from Chicago to Dublin therefore we had to spend the night in Chicago. We put a claim in and....you guessed it, they said we were not covered. We had all the paperwork necessary but they still said "unsuccessful". Do not use them as it is disgusting how they treat their customers. We are taking it further.

Absolutely disgusted, I didn't tell them I had a painful hip,,,, I claimed for water infection and they paid out £85 of a £287 claim, nothing related and doctor confirmed this... utter rip off, they kept asking for more and more info that they already had. Never Never use them

I had to cancel my holiday when my coach broke down on the way to the airport arriving 2 1/4 hours late and too late to check in. I thought I would be covered by my Coverwise /AXA Policy, but there are very limited reasons they will accept for cancellation and they would probably try to wriggle out of paying up even then. They hide behind their ratings from bogus Review websites like Trustpilot and are borderline criminal.
