“I bought Adidas Gore-Tex shoes from SportsShoes and the first pair proved to be defective and were sent back. After this I tried the second pair they sent out and they caused horrible pain in baby toe. I wore them once with no damage but tried to contact about return. They said my feet were too wide and it is not a defect in the shoe. I asked, why this didn't happen with the last pair - in which they kept coming back to your feet must be too wide. Seriously if you can't wear the shoes because they cause physical pain should you not return a customer's money - apparently SportsShoes say no - they will examine them in if they are defective they will replace but otherwise they don't want to know. Please take my advice - do not buy from this company.”

“The cost for the return is 16 euros plus the cost of the previous sent 8 euros, total 24 euros lost for nothing, just becouse the size was wrong”

“Terrible service. Their "experts" said a pair of scarpa trainers fit a half size larger. They didn't they were standard sizing and if anything actually smaller and tighter than any normal shoe. Returns aren't free even in this case where their advice led to me getting a pair of ill fitting hiking trainers. Won't shop with them again for as much as a pair of socks.”

“Paid nearly £10 for nominated day deliver (Saturday). Tracking says arriving between the Saturday or Sunday. BEWARE!!!. Called their customer service line and was told one moment please. Lots of background noise. The guy basically never came back to the phone and all included hear was what sounded like 3 or 4 different customer service calls being handled. Awful. Avoid!”

“Bought a pair of trainers that were faulty. Checked with manufacturer and they were still under warranty. Sportsshoes (SS) were contacted and offered advice and then sent a shipping label to print got me to return the shoes. Was a lot of hassle for me to have to return a product that was faulty. The process should needs addressing to make it easier for customers”

“terrible experience, i paid extra for an express delivery 2/3 days instead got notification that it will take almost a week to deliver which was not suitable for me as i was away that time . I tried to cancel my order but sportsshoes did not answer my calls or emails. avoid if you can!”

“They have a great range, good prices and I have used them for 10 years. But they seriously lack in 2 areas, one of those is using Evri (Hermes) the second is customer care. I had issues in the past because returned shoes looked "walked in", if my kitchen counts then sure. But more recently going through the options to select evri pick up, because at least with pick up, evri always deliver and you have more cover, unlike when their courier pretend to deliver to home so they can add that to next days pay.... After purchasing, the address I chose for pick up was not there, instead another address miles away appeared, I made a webnote asking to change the address, to be told 7am it had shipped. Having worked in warehouses, one far bigger company than them in cycling, I told them this cant be the case, no courier will have picked up Sundays orders from late night, when no one would have been there until Monday morning, I also know from using SS that they do not ship until evening. Basically, all the packages get ready, get put into a trailer, that is then picked up late and taken to a hub. My shoes had not left the warehouse, I had an Evri email that confirmed it. So then they backtrack, tell me they changed my order, then I get a credit to my sportsshoe account, not a refund which you would expect after I reminded them of 14 days right to cancel. So I then had to call up and chase why over a week later I still did not have shoes. The only saving grace was the girl on the phone, although she kept getting the wrong account, was patient and polite. Kicker is the shoes dont fit that well, but I cant even be bothered to fight them again to return them because I know they will kick up a fuss I walked in them. Like no ones ever had a B grade line before. This has been the final straw for me, I will use another retailer and get off their mailing list”
