“None of the clothes fit even though we followed their measuring guidelines. Returns are supposed to be free & easy, but that is not quite true. One of the clothes was not returnable ($45 lost). The other 2 items didn't have an option for an exchange in the same style so we had to return & pay a fee. There are no stores for us to try on the clothes & find the correct size. I am done with American Tall & it was a bad experience.”

“The dress coat is well constructed, the shoulder pads aren’t from the 80s and the added belt gives it a nice touch to cinch in the waist. Definitely good for spring weather I’d say and fall but not so much for Ottawa winters unless it’s super mild out. I love this coat! It’s definitely a tall woman’s staple to have!”

“This was just a bad experience, and very confusing. I've purchased 5 pairs of these in the last 4 years and I love them. They all fit perfectly. A couple of mine were showing their age so I wanted to replace them. This time, they were waaaaay longer. 2 inches longer than all five of my other pair. I laid them all out on the bed and compared. However, the new ones DO have the inseam that is stated in the description - 34.5 inches. American Tall didn't do anything wrong per se. They were accurate in their description. But what happened? What changed? Why are the new ones 2" longer? They supposedly don't shrink more than 1". Customer service was so unhelpful. They told me they were the same as always. But they're not. I'd love to know what happened and if there is something I could do to get the same fit as before. It stinks that I can't buy these anymore. I think I got too comfortable with American Tall, but cracks in the facade are starting to show.”

“Tried four different shirts. Two Henleys, relaxed fit t-shirt, and a Long John heavyweight shirt. The Henley skirts were nice but their collars deformed significantly after just one wash, so I don’t think I’ll buy those again. The relaxed fit t-shirt was ok but didn’t fit, so I’m returning. The Long John heavyweight shirt is great. High quality, heavyweight and feels great.”

“My #1 favorite place for pants! The only drawback for me are the limited non-polyester/non-plastic clothes. If there were more natural-fiber options, this might be one of the only places I'd ever shop for core wardrobe pieces.”
