"Visited their Kilmarnock store on Saturday 17 October 2020. We placed mattress for their Bordeaux 1000 king size mattress. There was a label stitched to the mattress with model name and quite clearly printed 10 year guarantee. I question the salesman, Chris, about this as he didn't volunteer any information about it. It turns out that the guarantee is only valid if you buy one of their \u00a370 mattress protectors. He was at pains to demonstrate how good the protector was. I was also at pains to say I didn't want any rubbery type material. He informed us it was a hotel breathable cotton and showed us a sample of fabric to touch which was similar in touch and appearance to cotton material used in the manufacture of t-shirts. Delivery in two days was promised which was the only part of the bargain to be delivered truthfully. \n\nToday Monday, the mattress arrived along with the protector. The delivery men didn't stay long. In and out in less than 2 minutes and off like a shot. We looked at the mattress which appeared to be what we ordered and then my wife opened the protector. Guess what! Not what we were shown in store. It was a full on anti pee pee cover. Quilted cotton with a rubbery type back. I phone the store to say we had been give the wrong protector. Chris went on the defensive and accused me of calling him a con man. At no time did I call him that he just assumed that from the way the conversation was going. He wanted us to go to his store again no doubt that he could perform a slight off hand and produce a sample rag we had never seen before. I asked about returning the order as we did not receive what we expected. Yes they'll take it back less 20%. Wtf? He offered to refund the protector but then we would have no guarantee on the goods Wtf again? Please pardon my language once more. Then he made it abundantly clear that cancellation are only possible within 24 hours of making an order and would suffer a loss if we insisted on it. \n\nThis company cannot be trusted. The plethora of negative one star reviews and the spurious 5 stars that crop up should make you suspicious of ever dealing with this firm at anytime. \n\nDO NOT RECOMMEND OR SHOP IN THEIR STORES!!!!! "

“I bought furniture and a mattress from the Archers in Glasgow and it could not have been sweeter. Great advice, I love the stuff - especially the mattress - and it arrived within a week. Good show.”

“We went to Archers and were advised to buy a berkley orthopaedic mattress by Jason the salesman at Hillington he did not advise us about the firmness of the mattress and told us it had a ten year guarantee. When the mattress was delivered it only had a five year guarantee and the bed is too firm. The delivery people unpacked the mattress and assembled the bed. We paid for this. My wife has a bad back and can't sleep on the bed as it is too firm when I phoned the company Jason would not exchange the mattress as it had been opened. I asked him about the 10 year guarantee he informed me that he would post it out. He has never sent it to date I also emailed the head office and they refused to exchange it and I asked about the guarantee - to date no response they are not interested - they have the money and that is all they care about - terrible customer service don't use this company. Other suppliers allow you to return mattresses and will only charges a small fee. Take note Archers don,t.”

“I wish I saw the reviews on this site before I made the dreadful mistake to order a bed from this company. It was due to arrive on Tuesday and it was not delivered. I was told it would arrive on Wednesday, and having taken another day off work, by 5pm it still had not arrived!! No phone call from the company to explain the delay. I phoned them and was told they were unsure when it would be delivered and said they would phone me the following morning. To be honest I was so dissatisfied that I cancelled the order. No apology or customer service and two days later, still no refund!! Apparently company policy is that they only provide refunds once the bed has returned to the warehouse. Guess what, they couldn't locate the bed initially then said there was a box missing, despite it never having been delivered to me!! Today having threatened to take the issue to Trading Standards if they failed to refund me the money, I am due to have a refund Monday. I will wait with baited breath. Avoid this company at all costs. Bed probably never existed when I ordered it..!!”

“Ordered a fairly expensive divan bed and waited in all day for X delivery as they couldn't state a time slot (which a lot of companies do). Wrong divan bases and totally wrong mattress delivered - nothing matched and not what was ordered. Delivery man refused to take away as he was "just the delivery man". To be fair Sara at Archers was very apologetic and offered an exchange in a few days but this was no good to me as needed the bed then. Not really very impressed by overall service from ordering to delivery as not kept informed unless I called myself.”

“ordered a divan base last week, and requested delivery for 30th October, it is now 1st November, and we are still waiting. Several phone calls made by us and staff promising that the divan base will be delivery today and it has still not arrived. We have had to have someone here all the time, and are still waiting in today at 4.p.m. Very disappointed. Mrs. Bakewell Onley Park near rugby”
