Horrible experience do not buy this insurance. Quote suddenly increased by £80 so tried to leave the first day of cover to be refused while very rude staff gleefully pointed out leaving fee £79 plus days insurance cost. Then being harassed daily for proof of no claims copy of driving licence and DVLA code or they will cancel my policy..been driving 31yrs never had such bad service.counting down the days to renewal to leave. Just praying I never need to make a claim

I had an accident which I had a witness stating that I was not at at fault but they still settled the insurance for the other party. Lost my no claims bonus, cost me another £239 extra to insure my car and also the damage on my car was never fixed. I wouldn’t recommend them - would use a large company that will actually protect your interest

terrible, took over my home insurance from Kwick fit they automatically assigned me to a three party on a credit agreement, when a name I didn't recognised tried to take money from my account I cancelled it then I get a default notice. Never had this behaviour form any other insurance company before.

Not impressed!! Have charged me an additional £41 after agreeing the policy because I had a windscreen replacement on a different car but insured with Autonet. Will not be renewing either car with them when they are up

Very poor service and stupid staff. They cancelled my insurance after I made a mistake on something and they just sent me a letter telling me that they were cancelling my insurance. Then the women on the phone asked if I wanted to put my refund towards a new policy.

Had a cover with this company for a year, which was quite difficult in a sense that one of our vans got stolen and then the new one got vandalised twice. We asked for help and advice from them which they were happy to offer. However, when trying to renew our policy, the quote was way too high compared to other insurers. After going with Acorn Van insurance instead, we went back to ask for the No Claims Bonus certificate. I used the online service where you speak to a representative who assured me that it was 5 years and that it will be sent to our email address. A week later nothing came through so I got in touch again. Apparently it was now zero years NCB as we made claims on the policy. I asked why no one bother to explain that we would lose all 5 years before proceeding with the claims, to which they responded that it's not something they are required to do. They then admitted that they should have kept us informed and that it was a mistake to say we had 5 years when we didn't, promising to settle the difference between the cost of 5 years NCB and 0 which we now have. Following a brief conversation with Acorn, they said it was £1051.84. Guess what happened? They refused to cover any of it now and won't talk to me any more regarding this. It's common sense to keep your customers in the loop and help them when they are in need. Leaving a review everywhere I can, reporting them using my team everywhere I can and seeking advice from Citizen Advice Bureau as well as our solicitors. Ripped us off big time!

Good premiums on the face of it ..but then comes the spurious add-ons. Communication is poor. Charged an extra 60.00 to a recent premium due to a honest mistake when applying through a search engine, even though they subsequently checked the licence details through the DVLA. Sent a communication stating they were going to add the extra premium within 14 days but pre dated the letter so I had no time to respond, when I tried to contact them via the email address given on their website asking them to justify the extra premium I had a reply saying thanks for your mail this email address is no longer in use ! how convenient. They received the mail ok though and someone typed a non automated response !! Lumbered with them now for the year but unlikely to be renewing with them next year, very unprofessional ! 1/10.

Took out policy, 2 weeks later received an email serving me one weeks notice to cancel my policy as I hadn't divulged a claim on the policy. The claim was actually a non fault claim, a letter from previous insurer was sent and they confirmed no further action required. In the upcoming weeks I received emails telling me the policy would be cancelled due to a fault I hadn't stated then that my DD would increase because of this claim. Every time I rang (6times in total) I was reassured it was in hand and would be sorted. Today after receiving another email stating my new DD mandate I was informed that £14.95 admin fee is being charged for failing to declare a claim. This has never been explained to me on any of the previous calls. Un be knows to me my husband has taken out a new car insurance policy and with autonet. He is experiencing the same problems and although he is still in the cooling off period has been told thee eis a £50 admin fee to get out of the policy! What a con! Everytine you ring you get told a different story and you have no faith in what you are being told. Do not take out a policy with this company if you want a straight forward no hassle policy

DO NOT PHONE THE 08444 NUMBER - ITS A SCAM They'll keep you on the phone for ages, cost me £20 to get a quote more than the online price. BUNCH OF CROOKS

Less than 24 hours with this car insurance firm and already completely regretting it. First they send me emails suggesting that I need to take action and provide proof of my no claims bonus or I may not be covered. Then they add £60 onto the quoted premium from CompareTheMarket because I had made a phonecall over 3 years ago regarding an accident that was not my fault, even though I did not make a claim. They already had information about a phonecall that I made over three years ago so why imply that I was not covered unless I provide proof of NCB? Then the documentation they sent me was incorrect since it did not state that I had selected to have a courtesy car and personal accident cover as part of my cover. £50 to cancel the policy even within the 14 day cooling off period is ridiculous. Will certainly not be renewing with these people in 12 months time

Just checked their cancellation fees after having been directed there by money supermarket. £79.95 to cancel after 14 days on top of the insurers £32 charge as well as their set up fee £20. Not bad if you cancel after 2 weeks and a day it will cost you £131 good effort. Bunch of thieves. Thing is you don’t find out this information until you have committed to pay.

Hi Stephen, Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the cancellation terms however, these are disclosed prior to purchasing the policy online. If you cancelled within 14 days we would charge a £50 fee and we would incorporate the £20 set up fee within that and the underwriter would charge for the insurance you have used. If you cancelled outside of 14 days the fee would be £79.95 plus the underwriter charges for the insurance you have used. If you would like to discuss this further please get in touch via reviewsites@autonetinsurance.co.uk. Kind Regards Carly

Absolutely disgusting service, apparently they took over my home insurance from Kwik Fit, but I had no letters from them apart from stuff from a finance company,so I wrote to them to advise I wasn't interested I am now receiving threatening letters to say I owe them money!!! I have never ever agreed any contract with them I called to discuss but the handler spoke over me and was very unhelpful, was on the phone for 45 mins!!!!

Have been a customer for many years now and they have really let me down. My van insurance as gone up due to 2x non fault claims ! 1x windscreen claim (payed my excess) and 1 motor cycle theft of my drive for £1900.00. Yep maximum np claims protected yep nearly 50 years old. Yep Renault master 2012 7k a year now costs me over £825.00 was 525.00 Admiral insurance £ 270.00 and lots more until I mention non fault claim.... Spoke to my insurance (Sainsburys bank and they are adamant it's makes no difference..... so i'm a liar! Strange how we the General public get fleeced of our hard earned cash! I will be shopping round next year. Thanks.
