“20 days after renewal the insurance I took my vehicle was off the road for renovation. I asked to cancel the policy and told that was absolutely fine. I then received a bill for £226, this is also after paying £45 on the direct debit payment. This would mean that 20 days insurance was being charged a staggering £271. I was never told about the huge fees I would have to pay when I cancelled the policy. After calling the company I was told they would halve the fees, this I took to mean they would cut the extortionate bill from £226 down to to £113, I was wrong, that just meant you would take off a paltry £35 or so from your £79 cancellation fee. Still leaving me paying £187 + the £45 I had already paid. I could have no doubt changed the vehicle insurance to an off-the-road insurance but that was never suggested by your representative, even though I told them it would be off the road for about 4 months. I am absolutely horrified that you charge these fees. I know you will say that a large portion is from the finance company but you sanction such ludicrous charges. You are after all, their client and could demand they act responsibly! I will make sure that no one I know ever uses your services, sadly it will make very little difference to your business. Your actions though have made a hell of a lot of difference to my finances. I will now not be able to get my vehicle back on the road within the a sensible timescale. Thanks!”

“the person in the call center refused to honor the quotation that came up on go compare. he was just argumentative ,telling me that because the info given this year didn't match the old policy he wasn't going to match the price given. even though i answered every question asked of me . sort it out Autonet”

We have looked into this for you and can see the reason that the price was different in the call centre was due to different information being given compared to when you did the quote online. This was advised politely by our member of staff. When a policy is purchased online, it is important that all information given is correct to ensure that you are insured correctly.
