Aviva have raised my home insurance by 30 percent. On attempting to talk to someone found it impossible. In fifty years of insuring property I tried to make the first claim this year which was refused. I am wondering whether this is the reason for such a high rise or whether it is blatant profiteering, but as there is no way of asking questions other than the ones which Aviva want me to ask I am unable to do this.

The lady who just had a front bumper and radiator damaged? 1 month ago review, "Anonymous". Most car insurence companies have linked up with car Salvage / Auction Yards, your car will be collected by CARPORT / CARPART ? under the claim it is going for further inspection, you will be asked to hand over the Log Book and Both Keys to the Driver, this means you've handed over legal Ownership of your car, before you have agreed it is Written off? And before you have a greed its Value? Your car now sits in a salvage Yard *nope Ted and written off by the Salvage Auction Yard, so they can sell it off as Repairable, the yard then gives your 8nsurence company a percentage back hander from its sale. Obviously your insurence premiums go up, so the salvage yard make money out of Writting off perfectly good repairable Cars to feed the second hand car Market. Just remember until your insurence company has agreed a Settlement value for your car, it Remains your Property? So don't hand it over with logbook and Keys for Collection 1st. Always get your own independant Repair estimate first ? "REMEMBER YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO DEMAND YOUR CAR IS REPAIRED. so don't let them take it away from you straight after the accident, they bank on your turmoil and trust in them to be honest and look after your best interest? WRONG! Dont Trust any insurence company at its word, MY front bumper , Headlight and Grill was Damaged, they tried to get me to sighn a Vehicle recovery form to say I Had No where to store the Vehicle? (I have a yard for 3 cars) and agreement for a Hire car. This was the act of taking possession of my car for salvage and Auction. I also got an independant quote for 2,500. My car was worth 7,000. The Insurence company estimated the repairs from the pictures i sent in and Wrote the car off, but didn't tell me, they actuated the salvage auction yard to arrange to collect my car under the false premise it was going for further inspection / assesment, obviously they would have Wrote my car Off? And with the keys etc already have legal possession and Ownership of my car as I have handed over the LoG Book? I Refused them to collect my Car and Cancelled within 14 days the Car Hire and my car Collection and inspection Agreement, as you are allowed UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES? they cancelled my insurence claim to try and Frighten and Threten me into giving them my car? When I pointed out the 14 day cancellation privilege and I had concerns and contacted the FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN, over Avivas Proceedures? THEIR ATTITUDE CHANGED. however the Financial Ombudsman is Useless, he claimed to me that he has no powers over insurence companies and all he can doo is make sure they follow procedures? So WHO THE F MAKES SURE INSURENCE COMPANY PROCEEDURES are Lawfull and Fair ???? Citizens advise told me the ombudsman can tell the insurence company and overturn their descission? Thats not what my Ombudsman Said ??? Clearly we have Incompetant Children in Seniour Roles who don't know how to do their job and what powers they have ? and the car insurence industry is Self Regulating and Running a Mock, this writing off Perfectly Repairable Cars for Salvage Auction is why Insurence Premiums are Going Up ! Its not Theft or Vandalism or accident Damage, it's Theft by your Insurence Company and Salvage Yard to Make Money for Share Holders, and the F8nancial Ombuds man Won't Investigate it for you and Stop it Happening to others.

I'd give 0 stars but it's not possible. Simply the worst customer service and phone system I've ever done battle with. It consistently fails to hear your answers, even if it's just Yes or No options. And then if it lets you type a number to select an answer, it doesn't 'hear' that either. Pathetic.

I was in an accident 9 days ago. For over a week now, Aviv's repair website has told me my car is at a garage being assessed. For a week, it has been lying. My car is still sitting in the RAC lot where it was brought 9 days ago -- the driver's door won't shut and it is in the open, with the interior getting destroyed by rain. Every day I sit in a hold queue for over an hour, and when I finally get through Aviva tells me the car will go to the garage "today, or absolute latest tomorrow morning". Every day, it doesn't. Their website is worse than useless because in the first few days, it gives you a false sense of confidence that something is actually happening. DO NOT USE AVIVA.

I had previously been a customer of Aviva having bought car insurance and still hold other insurances currently. The advisor positively represented the company and was both efficient and very helpful when dealing with my enquiry.

Would gladly use Aviva, BUT only if they were the last company on Earth. Appalling waste of time and money. I'd ba ashamed to work for them.

I phoned Aviva over a week ago with details of water pouring through our ceiling,,, after a lengthy discussion with a man he agreed that there had been excessive rain in my area and two storms and that contractors would be in contact… I received no email or reference number from Aviva , no one has contacted me,, I rang again three days later to be told no one could help me as my claim was now with the contractors …. A week later it’s pouring down again and rain is coming through my ceiling,,,, will call again tomorrow but what shoddy service I am receiving,,,, and after reading other reviews realise I’m not the only one to have suffered with this terrible service….

Customer service is non-existent, as it impossible to speak to a human! Having been with them for many years for Home, Motor and Travel insurance, I received a renewal quote for my Home insurance, which saw a huge increase from the previous year despite never having a claim and no change to coverage. I emailed them to say that I wanted to speak to somebody but all I got was an email back saying that they had quoted me their best price (email looked like it was automated). Got an alternative quote from a very well known insurer, offering better cover at half the price. Goodbye Aviva!

Do not insure with this company. i work in the insurance industry. They are very difficult to get hold of. They wrote to me saying that my pension had decreased dramatically even though it was a "final salary" from the 1980s when i complained they admitted the error and sent me £300 compensation. I have no faith in them. I've pulled all of my other insurances away from them. Truly shocking customer service, should not be allowed to have a licence to trade. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Currently in a situation where I decided to cash in an old life assurance policy, was quoted 5-10 working days, and now on day 56 there is STILL no information or payment. They have received all requested documentation (no dispute there), and I have called multiple times, used WhatsApp chat multiple times (until that service stopped working), have written to the CEO's office, but NOTHING AT ALL comes from Aviva - no update, no information, no date to be paid, just total silence. They have my email and phone numbers, but all I have been given each time I have contacted them is excuses and delaying tactics. The customer service staff are polite and helpful but even they can't access any useful information from the 'technical team' who seem spectacularly unable to do their job. Absolutely hopeless customer care and service - avoid at all costs.

Shocking lack of customer care with no proper communication channels. Wanted to know why a home policy increased by 30%. The automated responses both by phone and 'chat' are clearly designed to distance customers and make meaningful dialogue (which they want to avoid) impossible.. Automated Intransigence.

I am appalled at the way car insurance companies in the UK are allowed to get away with the super inflated prices that they are now charging. I am a pensioner, never made a claim in over 40 years, only drive up to 2000 miles per year, but have found that a cost of £208 for last years policy, has now risen to upwards, to and over, £500 It is disgusting that you are not regulated more severely, but then again, the UK government are the most corrupt people in the country, so what can we expect. All of you are just a big bunch of greedy bastards !!!!
