Very poor cancellation process, and you would think given that they're selling an addictive product they should have a morale obligation to make this easy. Once you finally get through you're faced with numerous questions as to why, with various obstacles and tactics to keep you subscribed.

You can only cancel your subscription by phone, and when you do, you have no proof of cancellation. They do not allow you to cancel via email. As a result, they withdrew money from my bank account and marked it as a pending transaction, but they didn’t send any items. I disputed the transaction with my bank and called the company to request a refund. However, they canceled my points, reactivated my account, and sent the wine to me after a week. These people are fraudulent and unreliable; I recommend avoiding this company

Wine52 / Beer52 / Whisky52 — Misleading Practices & Unauthorised Charges I am extremely disappointed with the business practices of Wine52 / Beer52 / Whisky52. In my experience, their approach appears to rely on misleading promotional offers, unauthorised charges, and poor customer service. Through the Biscuit dog walking app, we were offered what appeared to be a genuine reward — a free case of wine. At no point were we informed, nor did we consent, to being enrolled in a paid subscription service. Despite this, we have since been charged £36 per month without authorisation or any clear agreement in place. This practice raises serious concerns regarding consumer rights, GDPR compliance, and transparency regulations. Obtaining customer data through a third-party app and using it to enrol individuals into a recurring payment arrangement — without explicit and informed consent — is both unethical and potentially unlawful. To date, I have made three separate calls to their customer service team in an attempt to resolve this matter. On two occasions, I was assured I would receive a callback from their dispute resolution team. Several days later, I am still awaiting any response. It should not be this difficult to cancel a service that I never knowingly agreed to. The entire experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and unacceptable. I strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before engaging with any of their "free" promotional offers, especially if encountered through third-party platforms like Biscuit. I am formally requesting: A full refund of all unauthorised charges. Immediate cancellation of any subscription or payment agreement linked to my details. Written confirmation that my personal data has been permanently removed from their systems. Failure to resolve this matter promptly will leave me with no option but to escalate this complaint further — including contacting Trading Standards, the Financial Ombudsman, and lodging a GDPR complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

This is nearly a scam how hard it is to cancel your subscription. You should be able to cancel it on line, but instead you have to ring a number that’s only open during working hours and takes ages to answer

My last delivery contained 3 spoiled wines, and I have previously received spoiled wines. It really let me down on a Friday night as I was sitting down to my meal. I sent photos and made a conplaint. I received no acknowledgement. I called 3 days later and was asked to take more pictures, I did. I then called again to be promised a response that day but nothing, and still nothing. I find this unacceptable customer service.

Bought this as a tester, and we ended up not liking it, we then cancelled our subscription doing this online which said cancel subscription which made us believe that was our subscription canceled. Yet the next month we have been charged again £30 for beers we don’t like and won’t drink and this point we tried to phone the company which were less than helpful and refused a refund after us explaining there website made us believe we had already cancelled our subscription. Very disappointed in this and wouldn’t recommend as appears they lock you in to a monthly subscription.

Was sent a gift card to use, which automatically enrolled me into a subscription that was far too difficult to cancel. Very customer-unfriendly, which is a shame because the beers were quite good.

I received a call from Mr. Leo about a €182,000 investment that was a scam, but AMDARKLIMITED helped me get my money back.

if you don't want bad reviews, I suggest implementing a more comprehensive cancellation policy and operate with greater respect for your customers 🙂🍺

I've just been ripped off buy the sister company Wine 52. They took £36 from my credit card relating to a wine subscription that they auto enrolled me for after I took advantage of a 3 bottle for the cost of postage offer. I get the courier to return the goods to Wine 52 but they have refused to refund me my money. I will be taking this matter as far as I can, not because of the money, but because these type of companies need to be exposed!

Absolute scam. They sign you up for a very expensive subscription without realising (literally thought I was making a once off purchase) and then make it literally Impossible to cancel the subscription. Absolute fraud. They make you phone in to cancel, and even after doing so, don't cancel your account - never minding the fact that making someone phone in to cancel rather than allowing online cancellations is against GDPR requirements.

Scammed to sign up for this service. My own fault but when I tried to cancel the subscription they have been incredibly difficult and aggressive. I have emailed and called in good time. I have not even asked for a refund, I just do not want to spend any more money on what my dad has said is horrible beer. They are really awful. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Someone at beer52 needs to reply to my 2 emails. It's been over a week! I canceled my subscription, was told all was fine on the call, I was told the next month was half price if I stayed. I declined. The next day an order still dispatched at full price. I would have let it go but the order was delivered wet and damaged. I emailed a week ago asking for a refund etc. no one has bothered replying. I have checked my spam folders. Nothing. Customer service is appalling at this point because I'm being ignored.

I am appalled by the deceitful and unethical practices of this company. I purchased a single product using a discount coupon, only to find out later that I had been signed up for a subscription without my consent! This is not only fraudulent but an obvious attempt to trick unsuspecting customers. To make matters worse, canceling the subscription is deliberately made difficult, requiring you to call their customer service—where you can’t even retain proof of your cancellation request. Their entire process is designed to exploit customers: Unauthorized subscriptions. A convoluted cancellation system that wastes your time. Complete disregard for transparency and consumer rights. I was charged for additional products I never agreed to purchase, and now I am fighting to get my money back. I have saved all communications and will be filing a formal complaint with consumer protection authorities. If you’re considering buying from this company, don’t! They rely on trickery to lock you into subscriptions and make it nearly impossible to cancel. Avoid this scam at all costs. I strongly urge anyone who has had similar experiences to report this behavior and demand better business practices.

I am extremely disappointed with Beer52’s practices. I recently discovered, much to my surprise, that I was unknowingly opted into a subscription service. Today, when money was taken from my account, I immediately tried to cancel—within 10 minutes of the charge—but was told it was “too late” and that I should have canceled three days ago. How could I have canceled something I didn’t even know I was subscribed to? This feels deceptive and unfair. I was never clearly informed about being enrolled in a subscription, and the refusal to refund or resolve the issue in good faith has left a sour taste in what should have been a positive experience. I urge Beer52 to reconsider these shady subscription practices and prioritize transparency and customer service. I will not be using their service again, and I encourage others to think twice before signing up.

absolute disgrace. Spent the last 3 weeks trying to cancel my subscription. They basically have no customer support, ive emailed them many times and messaged them on facebook dozens of times, no response. They make it as difficult as humanly possible to cancel - please please avoid this pathetic excuse of a company like the plague.

My son was foolish enough to sign up for a free box of beers, although he was well aware that he would also have to buy some, they made it extremely difficult to unsubscribe ( you have to phone the company between 9-5 Monday to Friday), they also kept sending beer that seemed to escalate in price, my son has learnt the hard way that if something looks to good to be true it usually is

Disgusting scammers. Targeting you and then won’t cancel and still take your money and deliver when you beg them not to.

Beer52 subscription, Don't bother. Marketing call to up-sell on New Years Eve. What an odd company to deal with. I signed my youngest up for his Xmas present. First box free and intending to pay for at least 3 more with him able to take over payment if he enjoyed it. Very quickly his colleagues told him "careful mate, they hike prices and it's hard to cancel" Today, Marketing call around 10am to up-sell, which was hidden as "4 extra free" These 4 free jumped the price from £33 to £51 per month 🤯 sorry Beer52, we weren't born yesterday. So, cancel it is. But..... nope! The gal that called can't cancel. Neither can it be easily cancelled online (it directs subscriber to call) So I call.... First operator apparently can't hear as the call is cutting out, weird, signals strong here. Second call, apparently I'm out of line for being unimpressed and wanting to cancel because of the price hike off the back of a cold call. 🤔 By all accounts I did not uncheck the "Marketing by call" box so any and all calls to continually up-sell are fair game. 🤦‍♀️ The moral of this story? Beer52, not bad beer but cancelling isn't easy, oh and be prepared for them to say "I take it you had a free box and NOW want to cancel eh?" (Rude) It cannot be cancelled online, there's a blurb that turns emotional screws along the lines of "are you sure you don't want to keep supporting small brewers?" And then a half hidden phone number to call to get through to more recorded "stay, pay" messages before you're through to operators that throw shade and are clearly annoyed that you want to cancel. Such a shame. If it had been as advertised I'd have paid for 2 more boxes and my son would have carried it on. But the thought of monthly sales calls and ever creeping prices has made it not worth it to either of us. Sort it out Beer52, small brewers rely on you, (apparently) you're doing them a major disservice.
