Arranged a collection of antique furniture today, my son moved the furniture to the front gate of seventy foot garden so easier for collection, when driver turned up, there was no good morning or greeting and totally refused to take items, as they were outside, they were outside for twenty minutes and it was not raining. I had emptied all the draws of paper work and my son had to carry it all back indoors. I have been in the Wallington store many times, and have purchased many items as my parents and myself have suffered heart related issues and all donations on my parents death went to the BHF. I will no longer support them and will remove them as a beneficiary of my will and sell my items privately with proceeds going to another charity of my choice. I wish my son had read the reviews which are disgraceful but obviously very true after our experience today, shameful.

Arranged a collection for donation of furniture, my elderly father cleared all drawers and I had to move furniture by myself. They turned up the driver was extremely rude did not even acknowledge me and refused to take items. Called up the office after and was told a manager would return my call which never happened. Avoid at all costs !

Absolutely terrible charity, I was going to donate a 3 piece suite in excellent condition only 5 years old. They arrived and the 3 seater apparently had a water mark on it so they wouldn’t take it. I told them to go as I want going to donate anything now. I put a cleaner on the mark came right out. What is wrong with this charity, will never use again

My Mother recently passed away & I sadly had to clear her ground floor flat. There wasn't a massive amount of stuff as our friends had taken some items. The majority of the furniture was in good condition & could have been sold on. They quoted me over £1,000!!! I am still in shock. Is this actually a charity?? I will never donate money or anything else to this so called charity again. I have since found someone else to take everything for £400. I am so disappointed with the Heart Foundation & would never have imagined they would charge such extortionate prices. Most house/flat clearances are needed because someone has passed away & these outrageous fees are, in my opinion, taking advantage. My Dad died from a heart attack & I've always been happy to donate & shop in their charity shops but not any more. Shame on you Heart Foundation!

I rang for advice after a heart attack, they could not care less just kept asking me for a donation, plus the bhf store in Wrexham is ridiculously over priced with commission led sales people, let's stop these fake charities DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY!!!!

Booked a collection for dining table, chairs, sideboard and display shelf unit with BHF. Had a call from the office 2 days before to discuss. I explained that the furniture was not flat pack originally but came ready assembled so I could not remove table legs and asked would this be a problem. Lady in the office said not to take legs off as it was best to leave whole. Two blokes turned up and refused to take the table as the legs had not been removed! I explained the prior conversation with the office and this was met with total disbelief! However one of the blokes did give me a useful(not) piece of info in that I should get under the table and take a photo of the legs fitments then go to a DIY shop and buy a tool to dismantle it! They took sideboard and shelf but refused to take the chairs as they were not taking table! Surely a charity could make money on sale of chairs without a table. People out there, go to any other charity and steer clear of these, in my opinion, useless time wasters. I can think of better things to do than get up at stupid oclock for nothing. The only thing I can say is that it saved me £20 I was going to give them as a tip. I would rate this experience as no stars but it will not allow me to do this hence the one star!

Had BHF do a house clearance charged over £550 plus vat ..they asked me after calling to see what had to go …asked me to box it all up with lids ..on arrival didn’t even look in boxes..most was taken to tip …perfectly good stuff ….other sold stuff on there BHF eBay ..positively rude collection people. I chose the BHF thinking l would be helping with the charity…won’t be settling foot near anything to do with BHF ever .

This week I bought a solid wood dining table from my local BHF store and arranged delivery. I was not prepared for the table being delivered in five pieces. When I asked the delivery men to assemble it, I was told they were not allowed to for insurance reasons. I am nearly eighty years old and was left with trying to put together a heavy oak table on my own. Considering that BHF had charged me £35 to drive the table half a mile, I am extremely annoyed, especially since no-one in the shop warned me that the table would require assembly. Prospective buyers, be aware of this before you purchase furniture from BHF!

We booked a collection with the Holloway Road branch and they came today to collect (as arranged) they called 30 minutes before arrival as I was told they would. The guys that came couldn't have been more helpful. They took all of the items I listed plus a few extra bits that I had forgotten to mention. Amazing service and would defo use them again.

Two very blank abrupt men came to take some items today. They took some pictures, barely looked in a couple of bags said we don't take this stuff. I point out it was wrapped up China the lady on the phone said it was ok. He rudely said this is my job I know what to take!! Ok ok I will take just this time....!!! Come on BHF we are helping you. You are not doing yourself any favours by using these un smiling rude idiots who don't know how to talk to people who are kind enough to support your charity.

Don't bother trying to donate items for collection by this charity - they really don't want anything and will look for any excuse not to take stuff - the van is full, the item is too big / too heavy, there aren't assembly instructions, the items are slightly worn. It may be a good cause, but it's a bloody awful charity.

Terrible company - I won't bother to donate anymore items. The CEO of this company gets paid a BASIC salary of 210,000 PER YEAR! Absolute disgrace! I phoned for them to collect a pristine, excellent quality, large tv cabinet and they refused, because it was only 1 item, which i ended up selling for £60, so don't bother to ring them unless you have a large van full of goods or money to give them, because all the the money donated has to first of all pay £210,000 a year just for 1 wage! What a joke!

Awful. Paid member of staff allowed to be sarcastic and "bully" a volunteer because apparently they have had a tough time! There's no need to have a go at a volunteer purely because you are in a bad mood, unless it's their fault - which it wasn't. Hardly ever got a "thank you" for volunteering. Expected to stop what you were doing so they could "play" on the computer. Not a nice experience to be honest.

Booked a collection, received a reminder the day before collection date, waited in all day no collection, no telephone call to say they were not coming.Same as most people leaving reviews, won't ever donate or shop at BHF again.Shocked at photos posted by others on here showing such lovely furniture being turned down for collection also

Dont deal with these guys - certainly not the Biker store . I thought I was doing the right thing donating three leather sofas (rather than dumping them) because they were in good condition (had been lightly used in a high end holiday let) . My replacements were delivered on the Thursday and I had BHF booked to collect the old ones on Friday morning. At no point had BHF suggested there were any conditions other than the sofas had to have fire safety labels (which they had). On arrival the men point out a few minor scuffs and a bit of fading and said they didn't want them !!!! I am extremely frustrated at this as I could have had them taken away when my new ones arrived. I won't be going to the effort again to donate to BHF

Went to Hemel Hempstead store to look for a fridge. One staff told me that there is a fridge upstairs.I went upstairs to look for it.A lady came and asked me to leave in a very rude way as upstairs is only for staff. No sign boards at bottom of stairs stating this.I went downstairs and lady was saying to another staff -" i asked him to get the hell out of my shop".I left the store without saying anything. Very good way of dealing with a customer.Apparently she is the manager as I understand. The fridge is second hand priced £220.I will buy new fridge maybe for £30 more. All in the name of charity and extreme bad behavior. However the other male staff was very polite and helpful.

Bought an white speckled sofa from my local BHF and arranged delivery for today. Rude driver called to demand" where's the car park and as I told him how to access our parking, he hung up and neither called back no answered my three further calls. I had to go down to see where they were. They hadn't arrived, but did within five minutes only to park on the main road and drop the unwrapped white sofa in rain water and mud on the road. Not realising I was watching, they flung the dirty cushions in the back of the van and lifted the upside-down sofa, stain and all and made for my door. I pointed out that they'd not wrapped the sofa despite the rain and just picked it up with the stain to deliver. Their joint response: "you want it or not, or we take it back?" When I asked if that was their attitude to customers, one of them lifted his sweatshirt hood nd screamed "don't shout me" at me then proceeded to converse loudly and aggressively with his colleague in Polish. They then aggressively demanded, "you want this sofa or not?" to which I replied, you don't speak to customers like that after damaging what they paid for. The seeming leader then screamed " we take it back! " and I said go ahead. BUT needs to train their staff properly and put in place reasonable policies like respect for items people buy. You don't go to deliver any furniture at all bare as you're likely to scrape and bang it along the way, never mind white or other light coloured fabric furniture, bare in the rain and then drop it on the ground outside and think that's okay. The rudeness alone is extremely annoying, but coupled with the senseless action of delivering fabric items uncovered in the rain, it's absolutely bonkers. My family both donate and buy from BHF because my son has, and my late dad had a heart condition, but this second bad experience is making me rethink my support for them.
