1. A huge delay with my parcel arriving from the UK to Australia - 15/20 days turned into almost 3 months. 2. At first the staff seemed to be unhelpful and were not very interested or too busy to follow up with my concerns to locate my parcel and help me get back into my Blackwells account as the forgotten password process wouldn't work for me. Almost at the three months mark, I panicked after reading some pretty bad reviews on several review websites.... so out of desperation I contacted Blackwell's again via their website, and demanded that someone find out where my parcel was or help with me getting back into my account - I then also phoned Blackwell (Midnight Aus time) and ended up speaking with the lovely kind Val from the Canterbury store, who raised an email for assistance immediately to her colleagues (so grateful). Very quickly after I was contacted by the wonderful Charlie who did everything he could to locate my parcel and help me get into my account... after not being able to find answers he so kindly arranged a refund no questions asked. 3-4 days after the refund, my parcel arrived!! Charlie once again arranged a money request so I could easily pay for my books. Because of Val and Charlie I have changed my opinion of Blackwells and are so very thankful that these two employees were so helpful and nothing was a problem. I probably should have listed to my mother's advice - "just wait, it will turn up" before panicking! So I sincerely thank you Val and Charlie.... you deserve to be recognised for your outstanding customer service in the Blackwells company!!

Avoid them at all cost! Same story like the others you can read below. I ordered a book for my partner's birthday, paid... And the book has never arrived! According to one tracking app it's out for delivery, according to other - it's been delayed for weeks! Tried to contact Blackwell's, but haven't heard from them!

Do not use this company I ordered two books on December 13th. Money taken on the 15th and advised that the books were despatched on the 16th. I waited and looked at their international shipping times (I’m in Australia) and still no books. It is early February. I have emailed the customer service team three times (17/01, 30/01 & 07/02) and have not received a single response. I wasn’t given a tracking number either because I purchased them as a guest with no account. Do not use, it is a scam and I am currently trying to get a refund through my bank. I have seen others from Australia with exact same issue and I don’t think anyone in Australia should order from this company if you actually need a book! Also, they have now tried to deny any responsibility for the safe arrival for these deliveries because, and I quote Hanna a Blackwell’s employee here, “Orders to Australia are sent by standard mail, which is untracked, with the final stage of delivery being completed by Australia Post.”. Would have been very upset if I had signed up first so I could receive my tracking details only to find they wouldn’t be providing it. I call BS!

Have had them ignore at least 4 emails from me, they did reply to one to give me a ticket number to then say the matter was resolved while they had done nothing but tell me to get back in touch and they would give me the information needed to return and refund.They duplicated my order and now I'm stuck with four books the same. Would never order from them again customer service is dreadful and no way to get in touch with them other than email that they ignore

I ordered books in November last year. It’s now in February. No sign of books and no sign of Blackwell’s. They do not answer my emails, always a automated response.

I’m with everyone else on here, would give zero stars if I could! I ordered a book on 3rd Jan that was a gift. I emailed on 8th Jan as I hadn’t heard anything about dispatch, but got no reply. So on 10th Jan I emailed to cancel the order as it wouldn’t arrive in time (and ordered the book elsewhere). Then 5 days later they dispatch the cancelled order and take my money. I returned as soon as I received but 3 weeks later I am yet to receive an acknowledgement, let alone my refund!! I hope people see these before purchasing with them - gutted that I didn’t!

I am with everyone zero stars returned a book which I received far to late not in time for Christmas. I am still waiting for my refund. Must have emailed 100 times try to phone can never get through. Absolutely dreadful customer service. Steer clear DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I would like to leave zero stars! I ordered a book from Blackwells on Saturday and by Thursday nothing, no emails, no contact, nada! I emailed them to ask why no contact or even why no delivery of the book. To my alarm and anger, within 10 minutes I received a paypal message that I had just paid for the book. Another email at the same time told me my book had just been despatched. I emailed Blackwells and told them this, adding that if I had not emailed them would the book still be sitting there doing nothing. No apology, nothing! Never will I order from them again.

Same as everyone else would give a zero star if I could been waiting 4 weeks for my music book non existent customer service sent numerous emails and just get an automated reply no wonder these punks have put the shop up for sale unbelievable Jeff

Agree with previous reviewers. Non-existent customer service. It's been 7 weeks since my order was supposedly dispatched. All I get in response is an automated email with FAQs

Would rate NO stars if I could?! No customer service, no books .. but they take your money. I hope someone’s reading this before they order. They are just shonky & crooks.

I have ordered books over the last year for my book group. The books have all arrived very promptly with an enail notifing me that the book is on its way.

Customer service is not existent. Emails regarding missing, but paid for, orders are simply ignored. Request for refund is ignored. I dont think they will continue in business with such poor service. I wont use them again

Ordered 2 weeks ago. No updates at all. Emailed client services who don't bother responding (reading other reviews online it seems that they just ignore every email). Rang physical store who gave me phone number for online team. However that phone number doesn't take calls. In store team can't help me. And now i'm stuck waiting with no updates, and they've taken my money.

I preordered a signed copy of house of sky and breath just to have it cancelled today. No reasoning given except human error. Email was super condescending and all they did was encourage me to buy an unsigned copy of the book. Like I’m going to give them any more business.

As with other reviews, a mistake to use this company. No delivery information, 6 day late when arrived; no telephone number and no response to emails. Now chasing a refund but it look is as if i will have to claim against the credit card.

I would give them 0 stars but I am not allowed to. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. They do not respond to emails, they do not seem to have a contact phone number, they do not send shipping information and their books DO NOT ARRIVE. I am now chasing a refund. What a joke.

If you've read the bad reviews about customer service and think that you can manage without having to contact them, DON'T. My order has not arrived and it's been over a month even though their site states that it would arrive before 25 days. Have sent three seperate emails from two different accounts with no response except for an automated email linking me to their FAQ section. This site is literally no better than a scam, if you're trying to save money it's better to just spend a few extra dollars and actually receive the product.

I ordered about 30 different books and that was probably about a few weeks ago and since then I keep asking the company for tracking numbers. I must have asked about five different times at least for tracking numbers and the best that I got was a no reply email saying that they've been dispatched and that's the best that I could get when I insisted to get tracking numbers because a lot of them I didn't notice showed up at where it was supposed to go. Nobody EVER replies back to any questions I've asked about the books I've ordered. VERY bad customer service.

Awful - cancelled entire outstanding order because payment had failed. Yet it was THEIR FAULT as they have a problem with their payment processor accepting Amex (which was not a problem with the first half of the order dispatched yesterday. Why cancel the entire order? They don't take phone calls, they don't have an email address, the cancellation email does not list the items they have cancelled, the email is from a "no reply" address. What a terrible shop, trading on a "quality bookseller" name but they are worse than the worst online store. Clearly poorly resourced and badly run.
