“Never again. Book ordered for a birthday well within time has still not arrived - customer ‘service’ (there’s a misnomer for a start) finally admitted that it didn’t leave within the promised time. Pity nobody thought it a good idea to let me know. Finally extricated a limp apology, but still no book and a disappointed birthday boy. The contract is that I pay and you send, Blackwells. Shame that only one of us kept to the agreement.”

“My ordered book last March 8, of this current year, finally arrived yesterday and I was startled. It took four months before it reached our customs and/or postal office here in the Philippines. And it reached to my door at 9th of August this year. A little bit of patience.”

“So, I placed an order and more than a week later get an email that I can't reply to saying the payment failed. This was after my bank confirmed the payment. The only thing I can think has caused this is that Blackwell's don't try to take the payment until the order is dispatched and because of the delay my bank rejected it. Sort it out.”

“I ordered a book on 10th June. There was no mention on Blackwells website at time of purchase that you needed an account to receive tracking information. Subsequently, I checked out as a guest. Did not receive any tracking information and my order never arrived. Customer service advised I needed to wait 25 business days for item to arrive. Which I did, then after contacting them again they promptly provided a refund. Not worth the time and effort. I ordered the same item from another online store, which was cheaper and arrived within 2 days. I would not purchase from Blackwell's again.”

“I learned a lesson, I screwed out when I purchased a book from this company! I live outside the UK and I am working overseas last March this year. They emailed me once they received the money. 💰 🤑 I screwed out also making the Blackwell's account. 🤣 They don't produce a tracking information or status of the shipment. When I returned to my home country this June, they said I should have reported within 40 days but the excused that it was already three months passed. I no longer expect anything from them, I won't trust online transactions anymore! It would be better buying from the real bookstore and not online. Money doesn't grow on trees nor you 💩🤣🙂 Thank you for your experiences I learned!”

“I will never buy anything from them again. I live in the UK and would expect a much quicker delivery of my order. Not so. Tracking is not possible and the staff are unable to give delivery dates. This company has not bothered to make any improvements despite customers' reviews. I expect the poor delivery issue would be much worse for overseas customers.”

“After reading these reviews I was so sure the book I ordered would never come that I ordered a second copy of it from a different company… but the book came after just a week, much shorter than the predicted two weeks. It was in perfect condition and significantly cheaper. The book I ordered had been selling out in New York bookstores at twice the price I paid so I was delighted to have such fast service. I’ll be able to return the second copy I ordered from the other company for a full refund so everything worked out.”

“I would give 0 stars if it were possible. Don't order from this company if you live outside the UK. The delivery timelines for outside the UK are lies and their helpdesk are just bots who have no power to do anything including check order details - it just spits out the same message each time you make an inquiry. I ordered a book on 5 May for an important meeting on 2 June. Although the money was debited and I received a confirmation email for dispatch the order never showed up in my online account. After 10 days I contacted the help desk to ask about this issue and check the delivery address was correct. At this point I was told to wait for 25 days. It is now 30 May and I have sent another email requesting help and they have told me to wait for another 25 days. I have asked for my money back because I am so disgusted by this service. I am sure I will just receive another email telling me to wait for 25 days.”

“Blackwell Books is super dishonest with shipments outside the EU. They are not setup to ship to Canada and do this through DHL who then fleece you with customs fees. They don’t really ship outside the UK despite their website claims. DHL are just as bad as Blackwell which doesn’t help. They then refer you to fine print which should have been obvious upon ordering where they give the impression they can actually ship overseas. avoid Blackwell at all costs, an awful company!!!!”

“Took my money, did not receive my book. Customer services said they could not find details of the original order and would get back to me by email once they looked into it told it could be up to 2 days! Absolute joke! I could have ordered on Amazon and had it delivered the next day but I thought I would give the little guys a chance, I was wrong this is the reason why Amazon will put you out of business!”

“I ordered two Harry Potter hardback books from Blackwells. One was as expected (good print and paper quality, illustrated sleeve over hard cover) the other was a clear bootleg (smaller, paperback quality print/paper, low quality print on hardcover - no sleeve). I alerted Blackwells to the issue- pointed out how it was bootleg and didn't look like the other book I purchased nor the photo on the site. They said, the dimensions listed on the site match there for it is not bootleg and I can return the book for a refund. Naturally, shipping costs to return it will exceed the refund amount. So- not a great option. But the real issue is that they, or their distributors, are selling bootleg versions of the book and they are not taking action to correct that.”

“Received book in reasonable time, but noted on Credit Card Bank Statement that this was a Recurriong transaction !!!! I only requested and purchased one specific book. I had to contact my Bank to get future payments Blackwell's to be cancelled.”

“Purchased a book from an international seller from this website, estimated to take between 15-45 days? I never received it however I had to wait the max estimated timeframe for delivery to inquire about a refund which by the time it ended almost meant I would be ineligible for a refund (60 days). I contacted them and was told I got a refund back to my card however I never did receive one and the book never arrived. A scam and I wish this bookshop would stop being promoted as reputable.”

“I ordered 2 of the same book by accident. I immediately sent a reply which I was told was resolved. The next day I got an email saying the two books had been despatched. Don't order from this company they are pathetic, the emails they send you cannot reply to, which makes it hard to get help. If I'd looked at the reviews beforehand I'd never have wasted my time and money on them.”
