“The course was very easy to follow and had multiple methods of receiving the information. I liked the audio and video presentations because if you read something you didn't understand you could listen or watch to get a better grasp. All in all I would highly recommend this course to anyone. I was never really good in school but I passed every module of this program first try and passed the final exam first try also. I was not expecting that at all.”

“Well planned in general, but sometimes was very repetitive and it was tedious at times due to individual segments being too short. (One or two sentences alone in a 30 second video that could have been combined with the next two or three to make it flow better)”

“I really enjoyed the format and the visual aids. The mans voice was clear and also soothing-very conducive to a learning environment. The 7 module quizzes were not always easy. I failed a module and had to redo it all again. ( I have a Masters degree so i am not challenged in any way . LOL) I would have liked to know the answers to questions that I didnt get right after each quiz. All in all a very good course Thank you Nancy”

“Son passed the test on his first attempt. Modules took well in excess of the 3 hours stated and purchasing the booklet was useless as you could not challenge the test based on the booklet review.”

“I have already recommended the course to friends. The final exam is practical. One certainly learns if not familiar with an area or boat study before leaving the dock and do an inventory of all equipment.”

“The online process is well done. Unfortunately I purchased the manual at Canadian Tire and spent two weeks studying it and performing the test at the end of each module (7 of them). Then I proceeded to do the sample exam at the end of the manual. Thought I was now ready to go online and do the official exam.....only to find out that I had to sit through the entire 7 modules being read to me followed by a test at the end of each and then I qualified to do the online exam. The manual NEEDS TO STATE UP FRONT THAT IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO GO THROUGHT THE ENTIRE 7 MODULES ON LINE, THE TESTS AND THEN THE EXAM. Instead, it states: The BOATsmart Study Guide is a comprehensive safe boating..............to prepare for the test and obtain your Pleasure Craft Operator Guide.”
