“BOATsmart was laid out in a very well organized manner and the graphics helped to understand the information. When I went to do the test, however, I found there were a couple areas on the test that were not covered in the course. In the future, it may be helpful to review all potential test questions and adjust course material accordingly to adequately cover all required material.”

“The timing on questions is HORRENDOUS - could barely stand finishing the course- shame because the content is excellent; everyone has their own pace - that needs to be respected.”

Thanks for leaving a review Heather. We definitely understand the course timers can be frustrating for quick readers, but they are mandated by Transport Canada (and NASBLA) as a condition of open book and unsupervised online testing - and is the same across all course providers. Most people still find this more convenient, since they can take the online Test from the comfort of their own home. Thanks for sticking with it and congrats on passing!

“Very easy access, very simple, very understanding. Anyone can do this test and not feel pressured . The book is in detail with lots of pictures for visual learners ! Can't believe it was this easy and fun to do this process! Recommend to do this for anyone who does not have their bot licenses!”

“As I completed the quizzes on each module, I would have appreciated learning which questions I got wrong and the right answers. Also, I am a fast reader, some lessons had way too much time to spend on them. Doing the course on line was certainly convenient.”

“Being a visual and tactile learner I appreciated the simple way the information was presented in the video sections while still having my hands on the physical book for referencing. Having kids in and out I also appreciated being able to do the course in small chunks when time permitted. I think if I sat to read it alone I would not have retained as much as I did pairing the videos and interaction with quizzes into the process. I would -and have- recommended this program.”

“I found that it was well made, easy to understand and just challenging enough. I have learned a lot on boat navigation and safety. The only thing that I would adapt a little more are the pictures that were not always representative of the text shown. Perhaps a little review of those pictures could be good. Other than that, everything was very good. Thank you. Ben.”

“Good interactive videos. But, important things are not repeated, or said with "notes" tone. I missed many important things which were said ordinarily. Written notes should be give with highlighted lines after the video. All the buoy types must be given on a page after every video to learn better. After i finished my test, i was not told further, what to expect and what action is required from my side. Thats what i can help to review to make it better for all those guy who come after me.”
