“Even if you do not own a boat, the information and knowledge gained makes you aware of so many aspects of riding on the water. You will also notice signs, buoys, navigational aids, etc. which will make you and your friends much safer.”

“I found the course very well designed and executed. My one issue is that this course really covers so much material on boating, it is too much for the recreational boater on many small lakes in Ontario (likely most of the country). One of my friends said after taking the course, the Ministry should really be aware that in Northern Ontario, a buoy is really just an empty Javex bottle. A little too much detail for boaters who will never be on a large lake or waterway where many of the maritime rules would be most critical. Perhaps a course broken into a graduated type system would be more relevant to those of us weekend cottagers. Just a suggestion.”

“The on line course is quite comprehensive. It is well worth the time it takes. I did buy the BoatSmart book and read it before doing the on line and I would recommend doing it this way. The on line course then acts as a review and makes passing the test easy first time.”

“I studied for the exam through the book and so when I wen to purchase the exam online, I was frustrated to see that I had to go through all practice exams in order to do the test. Hence, starting over completely. For those who like studying differently, or don't know about the practice exams, it was time wasted. My recommendation would be to have an opt-out option so you can skip right to the final exam.”

“It is an great way to get your boating license from home without having to go too marinas and the such. Like how it makes you spend time on each page to prevent skipping through and cheating.”

“I was not a boater when I took the BOATsmart coarse to get my PCOC so this was all new to me. I found their coarse easy to follow, easy to understand and ended up passing on the first try. Definitely one of the best ways to go if you want a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.”

“Great program, and great lessons an easy and efficient way to get your license! its fun and intuitive the only downside isnt boatsmart its the outdated plesurecraft operator curriculum besides that its amazing! the best part is that they can send you another card (for a fee) if you loose yours! they are great!”
