“The course was easy to follow and very informative. I learned way more about boat operation than I thought I didn't know! I was able to take the course at my own pace whenever I had extra time.”

“I felt that the course covered most of the information needed for a beginner boater however I did find that I needed to look elsewhere for information on properly tying to the dock and how to moor a boat but realistically this may have been outside the scope of the course. One thing that I absolutely hated about your format was that I found that I always had to wait on the timer. It wasted my time and I saw no purpose to it.”

“BOATsmart worked well for me but was very time consuming because of the quizzes required after every module. Also, I know it has nothing to do with BOATsmart but a lot of the information was irrelevant to me. I'll never need to know how to give right of way to large ships or how to navigate in the ocean because all I'll be doing is pulling my dad on skis behind our ski boat in a small lake. There should be a section with information on how to properly/safely tow a person behind a boat for water sports because that's probably what 50% of people get their boat license for and the program doesn't even mention it.”

“Longer to complete than first expected, but once completed, was happy the course was as thorough as it was. I think the course is ideal, especially for people with no past boating experience.”

“I purchased the book and I chose to read each section prior to doing it a second time online. I found that retaining the information was much better. I am just a simple fisherman with a small boat so I found that some of the course will never be applied as I fish in very small lakes. Overall, the course is excellent and I have already recommended it to my brother and he now has his card. I have no suggestions for improvement and I will continue to recommend your course.”

“Really enjoyed the ease of signing up. I really enjoyed the different options to take the course on-line. Having the option of reading or listening or watching an animated subject material. I believe it allows for different learning abilities. Each module was well defined and easy navigation on the web-site. the dashboard made it easy to track performance. All in All, it is a great solid course, with printable reference material to keep handy when you are getting ready to go out on the water. Do yourself a favour, spend the $20, for the book as there is no way you can remember all the rules and tips and safety measures.”

“Simple, painless and easy way to get on the water immediately. Cards arrived in the mail quickly also. Only complaint I would have is that the timer on the slides that forces you to stay on the slide before moving on to the next slide is TOO LONG - I read the material quickly and absorbed it but found myself often waiting to move on to the next slide - took over 24 hours to work through it as a result - other than that was great. Thanks”
