Thanks so much Caroline – we're really glad you're enjoying the beans! We’re on a mission to make people obsessed with beans by giving them the BEST of beans. That means making beans to suit everyone and every need – so having Organic options in our range is really important to us for those who shop and eat Organic. But at the same time, we’re super proud of our Queen beans – they’re big, extra creamy, and totally delicious. We see it as a win-win! As we continue to grow our range, we’ll absolutely consider whether new products should be Organic, Queen… or both! Ultimately, it all comes down to the quality of the bean – the most important thing for us is making the highest quality, most delicious beans out there to fuel full-blown bean obsession. Hope that helps – and thanks again for the support!
So glad you love them! We totally get that they’re a little pricier, our beans are of the highest quality, slow-cooked, and packed with care to bring you the very best beans. We truly believe they’re worth it, but we hear you! Keep an eye out for offers in major retailers and if you haven’t already, our subscription service gives you a little saving too. Thanks SO much for being part of our community!
“Very tasty, quite expensive, jars could have been a bit bigger. I actually used my Zoe app to scan the baked beans from Bold bean 82 and no added sugar Heinz 89 , so Heinz beans scored higher. Although I think that bold beans taste better. I might buy them again for a change, but not sure I would buy them to replace Heinz for a family lunch.
4 more tbs in jar would be better.”
Appreciate the honest feedback Suzanne! We focus on top-quality beans with incredible taste and texture, but totally get that size and price are factors too, and we take all feedback into account. Our price reflects the superior quality, we only use the best ingredients, no nasties, just ingredients you'd find in your own kitchen. Thanks for giving them a try and for this feedback!
“Absolutely incredible beans - only issue is that I can never open the jars and there are so many beans jam packed in there that they get all squished when you inevitably have to use a spoon to extract them. Still love them though!”
Hi! Thank you for the love—and for this feedback.
We have to hermetically seal our jars to keep the beans safe and fresh inside, but I have a couple of tips to make opening them much easier. Try tapping the edge of the lid on a hard surface (avoiding the glass) to break the seal—you’ll hear a pop, and it should open easily. We swear by this method! If you're worried about your surfaces, placing a tea towel over the lid works too.
As for the beans being packed in tight, that’s all part of our mission to bring you as many incredible beans as possible per jar! But if you find they’re getting a little squished, using a softer utensil (like a spatula) instead of a metal spoon can help. Running a little water into the jar can also loosen them up. Due to natural variations in our beans, the stock can differ from jar to jar. Over time, it may become more viscous, and temperature can also affect its thickness. While we strive for consistency, factors like storage conditions and the beans' natural characteristics can influence the stock. Softer-skinned beans may break down slightly more, making the stock thicker and more coloured—but rest assured, it's just as delicious!
Hope this helps—and so glad you’re loving the beans.
“Really love the jars of chick peas and Queen beans. Tasty enough to eat straight from the jar. Sadly the red kidney beans are so tightly packed they come out like mush as you have to dig them out of the jar.”
“I love the concept of this brand and they have made beans a great thing to eat again! I think they offer a good variety of different, high quality beans and I have used all of them. My only complaint is that they get very compacted in the jar, particularly towards the bottom and so the beans come out a bit mashed - fine if I'm making a dip, but not fine if I'm adding them to a pasta sauce because they just make it gloopy and unpleasant. Sort that out Bold Bean and you'd get a perfect 5 from me!”
Hi Penny! Thanks so much for this feedback.
I am sorry you've struggled to remove the beans from the jar. Can I ask which bean you're using? Our Organic White beans for example are usually the hardest to get out of the jars, and this is because they’re naturally a really starchy bean so their bean stock is super thick!
As each bean variety is different, their bean stocks will all be different, as each has a different level of starchiness. So I appreciate this can be frustrating, but this is normal! I have a few tips for you for future use. If you use a softer utensil such as a spatula, rather than a metal fork etc - I often find the beans become less mushy as you remove them from the jar. I also remove the beans from the jar under a running tap, the water can get into the beans underneath and help loosen them!
I hope this is helpful, Jess
“I love the beans and the recipes and looking forward to trying many more. The thing that stops me from getting a regular order is that I have sometimes really struggled to get the jars opened.”
“I recently bought the selection of 6 different jars of Bold Beans, after a recommendation from a client. We have loved the taste, texture and quality of all of them so far, and the jar size is generous so it's easy to make a big, healthy meal or batch cook using just one jar. I have discovered one problem though, which sounds trivial but honestly is enough to stop me buying them again - I cannot for the life of me open the jars! I consider myself fairly fit and strong, (I'm 44 a year old female and work as a personal trainer) but every time I have wanted to cook with the Bold Beans I have had to wait for my husband to come home to help open the jar...and even he has struggled. Please please could you adjust your processing so that the lids aren't put on quite so tightly? I never struggle with other brands.”
“Very good quality beans and easy to add to any dish as they are already cooked. Very useful for everyone who cannot give the time to soaking and boiling beans or pressure-cooking them.”
