“I bought a cosplay uniform from a well-known なんちゃって制服 brand, conomi, using the buyee x mercari partnership. Conomi is a super expensive brand if buying their items at regular price on rakuten so I opted on using buyee to help me buy conomi items from mercari. I got a skirt + tie set for only ¥2700! (On rakuten, a skirt costs ¥9800 & the tie ¥1800). The items I got were all in gently used condition which I didn’t mind since I was going to use them for cosplay. I then bought a white blouse to complete the uniform for ¥1800 (retail priced at ¥3800).
Buyee does have a few additional charges. Once all their items have arrived at their warehouse you have the option to consolidate your package so you don’t end up paying a huge fee to ship your items separately. Consolidating 2 items = ¥500 ... 3 or more items is a flat ¥1000 fee I believe. When that is all complete, you have about 6 international shipping options to choose from. All costs are displayed, from most to least expensive options as well as the shipping time estimates for them.
Overall I’ve had a positive experience with buyee and saved lots of $ from buying a brand new cosplay uniform from rakuten. Customer service is good and usually responds to inquiries within a day. Would recommend using buyee to buy mercari items if you intend on buying a few items. If you plan on buying lots of items, buyee’s mercari fee can really add up to your final buyee total.”

Even if you buy multiple items from the same seller, Buyee insists they are individual transactions, so you have to pay for several local delivery services even if the seller specicies they will combine purchases. Then you have to pay extra for package consolidation to have them shipped to you. SO you end up with a box full of boxes!!!”
“If you buy multiple items from Japan, stay away from Buyee. They try to lure you into getting their package consolidation service in order to "save" money in shipping, but the reality is that not only they add extra weight of 2 kgs on top of what you have, they also use gigantic oversized packing boxes so that you cannot ship with any shipping methods other than the most expensive EMS service. I'm sure they get kickback from EMS. If this is not fraud, I don't know what is. Their customer service is totally unhelpful and useless. Be forewarned, do business with them at your own risk!”
