“Very helpful counter staff who not only brought over a lens from another branch in very quick time but kept me appraised of progress by phone. I've always found the staff at Wardour Street to be tremendously helpful and friendly - it's always a pleasure to shop there.”

“In store customer service was good. Attentive Staff and good presentation of products. However I found that stock was limited (They didn't have a Nikon D810 in stock) and the staff didn't seem to have any autonomy to negotiate a deal when part exchanging goods.”

“This is an excellent face to face retailer. I first dealt with what is now Calumet, back in the days when they were Pelling & Cross (some 40 years ago) and I was working as an industrial photographer for the electricity industry near Chester. I still deal with them and am occasionally prepared to drive over to Manchester to view and discuss new equipment with their staff. They are always helpful and knowledgeable, but never pushy. They listen first, help were possible and of course always agree with me, if I decide to buy something but there is never any sense of sales pressure. I am well and truly retired now and only rarely by new equipment but I am always made to feel that I am a valued customer, that’s why they still get my business. Bob Bridges.”

“From the greeting as I walked in the door, to paying for my new Camera and Lens (and a few rolls of 35mm B&W film), to walking out the door a few minutes later; the service at Calumet in Birmingham is fantastic.”

“it was the day after Boxing Day and one member of staff was on duty. As he dealt with the customer he was with, he made sure we were acknowledged and assured that he would be with us as soon as possible. When it was our turn, he gave us his full attention and helped me select a tripod to suit my needs, with an excellent discount on the tripod head. He also gave me good advice on selecting filters. I will definitely be back for other purchases in the future.”

“Bought a DxO Editing Suite at the last open day in Manchester. It was supposed to be sent from the London Store as Manchester didn't have any in stock. It wasn't cheap but the demo on the day made it seem worth it. It didn't arrive. Contacted the Manchester store twice during the following weeks. Nothing happened although payment had been taken out of my account. I don't know when they would have contacted me as Manchester seemed to have forgotten about the purchase. Eventually , a fortnight after the open day I spoke to Leslie whom I presumed to be the manager and it was decided that the software would have to be ordered from the manufacturer. I don't know what would have happened if I had just continued waiting patiently. MORAL: if a problem arises deal with the manager not the underlings if you want a result.”

“In this 21st Century age of E-Commerce and retail, it is overwhelmingly refreshing to know that there are still establishments who can deliver knowledgeable customer service with very competitive pricing whilst maintaining a storefront that provides the shopper with invaluable hands-on opportunities to feel and try the quality of of products prior to purchase. Calumet Photographic in Edinburgh are a fine example of this, and indeed, the whole experience for me, culminated in the purchase of multiple items. This would not have been the case had I ordered online. Web interfaces are ideal for gaining company and product information and prices, but you just can't beat getting your hands on the gear prior to purchase. Would I shop there again ? - Absolutely, and so should you. 5-stars 11/10”

“First time at Calumet. I wasn't bothered by salespeople - I was given time to browse through the equipment - in my case - the camera bags. When I approached a member of staff, they were very helpful and didn't rush me.”
