“I like the fact that Calumet often has their own range of products – which in many ways can be superior to leading competitor brands. The staff have a great in-depth knowledge of all the products and kit, and are always happy to give advice.”

“The online ordering process was easy and well thought-through with a straightforward link to finance application and immediate order confirmation. As this was a pre-order I had a call a few days before despatch to let me know that the stock was incoming and confirm details. A thoroughly professional approach all round.”

“Needed to but a hand strap for 5D mk iv recently and dropped by at Calumet Belfast, was greeted by Angus in the store, and as always, was an absolute pleasure to get a friendly, welcoming & very professional service.”

“Usually has what I need in stock, or can be delivered from another store quickly, offers 0% interest on large purchases to aid cashflow. One issue I think needs to be addressed, I was in the Drummond Street showroom the other day, I wanted to buy some batteries, a quick purchase. However, all the sales staff were busy with people wishing to buy cameras and obviously, this takes time. Hence a fifteen minute wait to be served. Is it worth having a member of staff available at all times for quick sales when others are taken up with the larger sales that cant be rushed.”

“Purchase was fine but when it arrived item was too big for my needs. I initiated a return - filling in a surveymonkey form to process a return feels a bit weird though. There was no email acknowledgement that my returns form had been received. I emailed support who totally ignored the body of my email and just said 'I see you received your order' - that was not what I asked in my email, I had asked if my returns form has been received as I had no kind of acknowledgement, and as per the Calumet website, I wanted to arrange a collection for my return. When I eventually got the correct response regarding a return, I was told that I would have to arrange my own return delivery - bearing in mind the Calumet website states " Goods purchased via telephone or internet can be arranged for collection by calling 0333 003 5000 after the returns form has been completed". I had purchased online, and that to me reads like they would arrange for collection of the item. However customer service told my via email that is not the case, and this being a heavy item that I could not physically carry to the post office, I had to pay Parcelforce £20 to collect and deliver it back to Calumet for me. Customer service was slow and inattentive, and website is misleading - I did eventually get my refund back, but £20 out of pocket. I would not buy online from Calumet again.”

“Over the last 12 months I have visited Calumet on several occasions, always making purchases including, on one occasion, a complete camera system swap from Nikon to Fuji. The staff are knowledgeable and extremely helpful, always able to devote the time necessary to assure me I am making informed and correct choices. The shop floor is a veritable Aladdin's Cave of equipment and a visit never ceases to inspire. My dealer of choice.”

“I am very much a amateur photographer. I have found Calumet very helpful and if I go in for something they will advise me if I am going for the wrong item. Thay will always help and tell me what I need even if it's cheaper.”

“I had sensors cleaned on two camera bodies. The team made me welcome and took time to do the job right. The results were great and better than I've manged to achieve on my own at home. I've saved hours in post processing and will be back again next time they need cleaning.”

“Great advice on suggesting a light and stand for our specific purchase requirements. We always feel that we are getting specific advice with our budget constraints listened to. The end result is that we get a great result which has enhanced our visual presentation of our gallery artworks. We would never dream of purchasing photo equipment from any other company.”

“Your customer service is so unpredictable. Sometimes it's really good, other times its so bad (rude, unhelpful, as if customers are an inconvenience) it makes you want to give up on the shop altogether. Clearly something is not working when it comes to your hiring and firing.”

“I have been there few times and bought all my pro gear from them. Their service is excellent and always very helpful. I have spent hours checking on camera bodies and lenses before I bought the one I always wanted and a lot more that I didn't plan to buy on that day. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff would recommend highly. Calumet brand products are really very good for the price and reliable. I bought a background stand few years ago, a flash trigger set and a battery pack for my flash.”
