“I took my SUV to Canadian Tire at McCowan and Sheppard. They had installed 4 new Michelin tires 4 months previous. My tire pressure monitoring system said that my left front whelk had 0 pressure. I thought that the TPMS might have been broken with the tire change so asked a young lady at the service desk to have the right front tire knocked down to see if there was anything bouncing around inside my tire. Instead they ran a scope around my car ($152.00) and said that 2 tire monitors were inoperative. They proceeded to mention that it would be $400.00 to change one and $650.00 to change 2. I asked to have my car back and I would reluctantly pay the not requested $150 plus bill. The shop manager interjected that that was the price like it or leave it. A shouting match ensued and I was then told that my SUV would not be available for 3 or so hours because of paper work. After speaking to the so called store manager, I called the police. The attending officer also told the store manager and ignorant shop manager to return my automobile immediately. They refused so the police officer mentioned that they would be charged with theft if the did not return my vehicle. They pulled my vehicle out, never did anything to fix my problem and I payed the $150.00 hostage fee. The attending officer advised me to contact a Lawyer about this issue. I went to Midas Muffler on Ellesmere and Birchmount 2 days later and they changed 2 tire pressure monitors for $145.00. Never use that location ever. I need 8 tires now and will not consider any Canadian Tire location after that I am 79 and thought that they wanted to reach me a lesson.”
“I had an appointment at 10am today October 29, 2024. I arrived 15 minutes prior as asked when I booked my appointment online. My car did not go in until 10:30am. I was there to have my oil changed & have my snow tires put on which were on rims already. I told them that I would wait as well. I never got my car back until 12:30pm. I am not a mechanic but I think this was a long wait time for what I had done. While waiting there were 3 other customers who were waiting as long as myself or longer. I don’t know if Canadian Tire had overbooked or what but this is not acceptable as far as I can tell.”
“I have been going to the one in st stephen N.b since I have lived here. i wanted an idea what a set of winter tires would cost for my car. I called and called the service department over and over. I left my phone number on the line saying I wanted a price on tires. Nothing no call return as instructed by phone service. So i decided to go out the following day. There was no one at the counter so I tried looking around for tires. After I was about to ask at service desk if anyone could help this employee came to the desk. I asked him and told him ive been trying to get someone on the line he said someone was there the day before and that was it. No im sorry for that nothing (customer service). So i did get a paper printout with a quote. But i did tell the man in the department I wanted studs put in them he said it was 30$ each. I said i wanted price taxes tire levy fee everything. When i got home i didnt see the fee for studs in there and was wondering if it was in there in the price somehow. so i decided to call to make sure. Guess what same no answer or and over. Finally I got someone (not in that department) who put me on hold and said she would page them. Then she said they are coming now to the department then she hung up. so I had to call again ,guess what over and over no picking up the phone. Ive never had a problem like this, so they have lost my business, It was extremely frustrateing and i would sooner pay more then put up with that.Theres def something wrong. Hopefull the owner manager will correct this problem!”
“Subject: Serious Concerns Regarding Tire Installation and Safety at Canadian Tire
For the past few years, I have been a regular customer of Canadian Tire on the North Shore in Kamloops, where I had my seasonal tire changes performed. Each time, the tires were placed in plastic for me to bring back the following season. However, approximately five days ago, I visited Mr. Lube in North Shore, Kamloops, for an oil change. During this service, the attendant brought to my attention that the winter tires currently on my vehicle were unsafe and should never have been installed.
This revelation was deeply concerning, as Canadian Tire had installed these tires just three weeks prior. I had been using the same tires, stored and wrapped in plastic as per their routine, for several seasons, and I relied on Canadian Tire's expertise for both installation and safety checks.
The attendant at Mr. Lube identified several critical issues with the tires: one tire was not the correct size for my vehicle, all four tires showed significant cracking, and one tire had multiple missing studs. Given the seriousness of the situation, I immediately contacted my son, who is a car salesman, to validate the information. On his recommendation, I asked the Mr. Lube attendant to take photographs of the tires, which he did using my phone. After reviewing the images, my son confirmed that the tires were indeed unsafe to drive on.
The Mr. Lube attendant further explained that had I brought the tires to them for installation, they would have refused to mount them due to their hazardous condition. I was shocked that Canadian Tire had installed these unsafe tires without informing me of the potential risks. I had been driving with them for a month, including two out-of-town trips, unknowingly endangering myself and my family.
After my oil change, I returned to the Canadian Tire location to address the issue with the store manager. Unfortunately, the manager’s response was dismissive and he did not acknowledge any fault. After I expressed my concerns, they reluctantly offered to replace two tires at a cost of $1,000. Feeling unsupported, I declined their offer and returned to Mr. Lube, where I was able to purchase four new, high-quality winter tires for $798, including tax. The staff at Mr. Lube treated me with respect and professionalism, ensuring that my safety was their priority.
Following this experience, I have decided not to return to Canadian Tire for any future services. I later spoke with a head manager at Canadian Tire, who expressed shock upon hearing what had happened. While I was offered $100 in Canadian Tire money, I feel that this gesture is insufficient considering the serious safety risk I was exposed to. I plan to use this credit at Mark's, but I remain deeply concerned by how the situation was handled.
What upsets me most is the lack of concern from the mechanical manager at Canadian Tire. While the head office manager assured me that an email would be sent to the mechanics, instructing them to ensure they are installing safe tires, I am left wondering whether this will truly result in meaningful change. I asked one of the employees if he would want his mother driving on the tires they had installed on my car. As a mother and grandmother, I cannot imagine the grief my family would have endured had I been in an accident due to the unsafe tires. The employee offered no response, simply looking away.
I hope that anyone considering having their tires changed at Canadian Tire will read this and think carefully about their safety before doing so.
Sincerely,
Dana Marcano”
“Online order was sent back as none in stock. They went from 2 items to zero in 30 min. Went to the store #304 at 2110 101st in Edmonton. Found one item under isle 169 as was noted on website. At that isle were 4 females talking about astrology and not one of them asked if I needed help. No one acknowledged me as a customer. I hate going in there, 10 employees crossed my path and not one of them said hello or stopped to see if I needed help. I drive to Leduc, they care about customer service.”

“Bought NEW 20lbs Propane Tank . Was Dated 3 years old, only7 years left before it had to be replaced, by law. Top Price, more that Costco
Wrote my name on Tank. Then I noted Date. Would not refund my money or give me a 2024 Dated Tank because I wrote my name on tank. Fraud.”
“Went to buy a gas power lawn mower and the first location argued if it was a battery one or gas. Then they couldn't find it in store even after I bought it. Then they sent me to the forest store in Edmonton alberta where it was confirmed there was 2 instock. But when I got there the vanish into a seaman. I waited for 2 hours for the shipper to find them and him and the manager didn't even go out to look. When they were called to see where the lawnmower was conveniently the 2 were missing. This happens too often at all Edmonton locations these KIDS don't put in the effort to look.”
“Had appointment today sept sept 10 2024 to have my car fixed I got a phone call from the Chinese guy answering the phone today.. he is very very rude and pushy.. I told him take my car off the hoist I didn't want it fixed to put it back together then he asked if I was going to pay for what was being put back together 🙄 of course I was 🙄when I went in pick up my car I asked to buy the brakes and rotors the rude man that I spoke to on the phone asked me why I want to buy them and give me a weird look...I give this man's service 👎👎”
“Don’t go Canadian Tire, especially for car inspection. They rip off you after finding small issues. They charge more than $300 for simple parts replacement saying it takes 2 hours by professional mechanic, which if you buy parts from Amazon and DIY it only costs $30 and 10 minutes work. I repeat: don’t go to Canadian Tire for car inspection!!!”
“This Company , I would like to Say the Triangle 🔺️ Points Card is horrible for example we only have $11 & bought in less than a yr , BBQ $700 , Lawn mower $500
Storage etc $900 .
I'm saying they need to find a better way to do so . Plus if you decide on a job here you will not be told whether it's seasonal or not . They may hire you FT & then month or so later Good Bye without you knowing. So honestly people decision making for the company you want to apply ask questions before.”
“I shop at Canadian Tire quite often. And I like shopping there. But this time it backfired on me. I bought a couple of items, one of them a Spotshot Aerosol I usually buy this item in a regular spray bottle, but this time I thought I would buy an aerosol . Used it the next day and was happy with it, until it stopped. There was no way I could get it to spray again. So, no problem I will return it and get another and continue on with my cleaning. But...no refund. I had used more than half of the spray and Candian Tire does not give a refund. I feel that that was bad customer service.”
“Worst customer service staff at Meadowvale Town Centre. Forced me to return item purchased within one week with original receipt to the store where it was purchased. Never will go back to this store due to their poor customer service. Canadian tire corporate should do more mystery shop for their level of customer service.”
“Great variety of goods and good prices, however your floor helpers don’t know anything about your products and are difficult to understand. I don’t even ask for help anymore. What’s with this???”
“Today, August 11, 2024, I was helped by Chelsea in the Mission Canadian Tire Store. Chelsea went over and above to assist me with a defective Bestway Flowclear #58390 pool filter that had caught fire beside my pool. I had purchased the pump under a year ago from her store with cash and no longer had the receipt. I was very fortunate I was home when the product failed as the fire was hard to extinguish(electrical) and would surely have melted the pool causing a catastrophic flooding into the downstairs tenants suite and my backyard. There is a one year warrantee but I did not have documentation. My word was taken as truth and Chelsea replaced my pump. Thank you. 5 stars.”
“Canadian Tire is one of my all time favorite stores and I probably shop here about twice a week if not more. I also love their triangle master card and all of the perks that it comes with.
Unfortunately on 07/16/2024 I purchased the for living osculating fan. During assembly the inside of my hand was cut and I required five stitches. Not fun.
I was cut in the metal piece that goes into another part of the fan. There was a jagged piece at the end of the pole.
I am hoping to let others know to please be careful!! It's been two weeks today and my hand is still sore and I am still unable to use it normally. Cut was very deep.
I tried to upload a picture of my hand but it didn't allow me .
Be careful people if you buy this fan !!”
