I meticulously shopped for a vehicle for over a year. I weighed my options and did my research. I research for a living so I know good tools when I see them. CARFAX made the search sooooo much easier. And believe me, I had constraints that made accurate reporting crucial. I'm happy to say that largely because of CARFAX, I'm happy with my 2010 Volkswagen CC. I've recommended CARFAX to all my friends. You guys rock. BTW, love the app!!

When I bought my Nissan Altima, I had so many apprehensions about the performance and all of of my thoughts were calm down by seeing the CarFax report which was very clean for my car. I bought the car the very next day and have got into no problems at all. Carfax reports are highly reliable and come with a decent pricing, making the car buyers and sellers worry-free.

Once upon a time when I was scrolling through Craigslist, I found the deal of my life! I found a very nice S2000 with only 34,000 miles! I talked the guy down to $10,500 cash, and he reassured me he had a clean title. I was very excited about this and talked to my friend about it who owns a pawn shop. She is always wheeling and dealing and asked me if it had a clean title and I assured her it did. She told me, "Did you do a carfax?". I said, "No, the title will show me if it is salvaged or rebuilt". I took her advice and went ahead and spent the money for a Carfax....sure enough, this dream car of mine was rebuilt and flooded! the title had been involved in title washing so if I would have just went by looking at the title, I would have been in a huge surprise! Thanks to my friend and Carfax, I saved myself a huge MIGRAINE!

After giving my 2013 Buick Enclave to my son, starting his first post graduate job as a Legislative Aide for the state of Oregon, I then found I needed a commuter car for very short and seldom trips around home. I looked at a 2006 Camry that was gorgeous, low mileage and reasonably priced but after carfax advised that it had been in not one, but two accidents, one apparently pretty bad, I did not purchase the Toyota. But the really good news, for me anyway, was a private seller that had a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis that was her recently deceased husbands car. I purchased a carfax review, using the VIN # and voila, a full, and clean history from the day of purchase, from the seller I bought the car from. It is not a 35 mpg car, but what comfort and luxury, I could not be more pleased. Thanks CarFax

Carfax certainly assisted me in my decision making process and did alert me to several undesirable units. I would have no hesitation about using them again.

Review: Sure: But I'm sure you will not use it. I applied for the 3 months of car fax, and maybe I did not read the fine print, but when you pay almost $60.00 for three months, you would expect that you would be able to look up more than 5 vin numbers - WHY? Because cars on lots, ((Many) lots do not have a license plate, soooooooooooo the only way you can really know the history is to get it from the vin number. Hey Car Fax, are you really that hard up for money? When a person is looking to not get ripped off, don't help the crook by limiting the car fax. Buyer beware, right? But even in the case of purchasing the car fax vin ability. Is it that costly for you to have more than five numbers looked up in three months??????? Really. Was I satisfied? NO! It kind of gets my goat when I have to take the word of a car dealer that the info which I just received is right- somehow I just do not have that much confidence in car salesmen - but limiting 5 vins, seems to place you on the side of the salesmen. Good thing I am old enough that I should not have to look for another car- if I did, I do not know to whom I would go? Car Fax????????? Maybe - Maybe not! lylesonntag@yahoo.com By the way, I was not going to send this, but either I did not delete this the first time or you sent it to me a second time. Ask once when I am going to give a not so nice report, and I ignore it. Ask twice and I speak my mind.

I used CARFAX on a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Limo in 2015 with 51,300 miles. The Cadillac dealer had reported 51,100 miles to Carfax when it arrived, and later listed it with 86,000. It sold with 51,200 miles on it a month later. I notified Carfax of their error in reporting the milage, and it was changed within 4 business days. I had a reply via email notifying me of the change as well. Thank you for taking the time. I have been a happy customer many times, and will remain one if this how easy it is to do business with you... Be well!

Wanted to get a convertible and found one advertised locally at a known dealership. Was described over phone as nice and under 50,000 miles. Although seemed to look slightly rougher then the 46,000 miles claimed. Got Carfax for it and found that it was a Canadian car. That had the metric cluster replaced with a US version. And that the Canadian cluster stated 136,000KM at last service. Clearly having the mileage falsified and that's from a reputable dealer. So trust no dealer or seller till you get the facts!

Never buy a used car without seeing the Car fax report. Apart from the main criteria of accidents reported, total loss etc, Examine the details, or lack of details will give you an indication if the car was serviced regularly, how long was it on a dealer's premises, how many times was it auctioned, was it exported or imported, Great information to help you decide if the car is worth taking a test drive.

Last year I bought 2 cars. I like buying car from others individual sellers, not dealers. That made a huge problem for me to deal with since some sellers tried to hide their accidents. But Carfax had them all. The first car I spent almost 3 months. I had checked approcimately about 30 cars before I met "The one". Without Carfax, not sure how could I do it.

I found the car of my dreams in a Mitsubishi 3000GT, and before I let me heart do the talking I took a look at car fax to see if I could find anything on the car from it's previous owners. Payed a small fee and got all the right information I needed to make an educated buy. Carfax took a lot of the built-up uneasiness away about buying a 1992 car by allowing me to see critical information about the history of my potential car. I will definitely use Carfax again when I go to buy another car and would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

I was looking for a safe, reliable car for my teenage daughter. I Almost bought a car from a dealer that looked to be a good deal. CarFax showed me it had been in two accidents. I then found the exact same car offered by a private seller. The CarFax was extremely clean and my daughter couldn't be happier!

I was looking at a used car. The dealer gave me a report from a competitor of Carfax that showed the car was clean with no accidents. I had looked at several cars and decided to purchase this car. I was out of town for Christmas and told the dealer I would be in on the Sunday following Christmas to purchase the car. I decided that I would pay for a Carfax to double check the report I got from the dealer when looking at the car. I purchased the Carfax and to my surprise found that the car had in fact been in a front side impact accident. I ended up purchasing a different car. Had I not pulled a Carfax I would have purchased a car based on an inaccurate report by a competitor and would not have known what secrets the car had.

Carfax let me know the vehicle I was going to buy had been in an accident. I'm glad I knew, the dealership had not told me, and I didn't end up buying the car. Carfax saved me so much money!

Car fax was invaluable. The seller sent us a VIN and we ran the Carfax, and it looked to be a good buy. We got there to test drive it, and noticed that the VIN was different on the vehicle. Ran the correct VIN, and found out that the car had been totaled. Carfax saved from a very expensive mistake and a very unscrupulous seller!

Carfax could have saved me a lot of money and ti.e if I used it originally. I purchased a 1997 Honda prelude of Craigslist test drive it and everything seemed fine. 8 hours later the transmission blew up. So I started a hunt for a new car and heard great things about using carfax. So out of boredom I ran the carfax on the prelude to discover I was the 9th owner and the previous owner only had the car for 2 months. From that day forward I will always use carfax. Saves time and can save you a ton of money!!
