Not everything gets reported to carfax it's an OK tool to use when buying a car or truck , but condition of a vehicle has nothing to do with a carfax report

Thrice I had looked at cars, and thrice getting the CARFAX saved me from buying something that had sustained severe frame damage. Just a little bit of information could save you from putting yourself or someone you love into a car that isn't safe.

CarFax is a great service. The report revealed that a car I was looking to purchase had been sitting for a couple of years. I initially purchased the report because I noticed the inspection sticker had expired two years ago, so I wanted to verify the current mileage with the last inspection, and my fears were confirmed and I avoided purchasing the vehicle. Thanks, CarFax!

I found the car I wanted on Craigslist. I'm always of a mind set buyer beware. Being able to run the Carfax report was the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way for me to see title history as a well as maintenance history. Knowing these things gave me peace of mind in buying a used vehicle. After the pre-buy inspection cleared the vehicle of any major repairs needed. I bought my 3rd jeep and am loving it. Thanks CarFax!

When I began my search for a luxury convertible I knew that the only ones I would consider were going to be verified as accident free by Carfax. I searched for several months for the perfect deal ; during that time reading many a Carfax report. Carfax made it simple when I found the right deal. ALL the information was right there - previous number of owners, vehicle history, service records, mileage verifications, verification that no accidents had been reported - all in one place. On top of that the Carfax buy back guarantee! I didn't buy based just upon the Carfax. I still personally inspected the vehicle and had it checked by a competent mechanic prior to buying it, but the CARFAX report was an important tool in my decision making process. Today, I've driven just over 2500 happy miles and know that the CARFAX was right and made my decision process much easier. I would not buy a vehicle without a Carfax report.

Carfax is not reliable. I purchased a 2007 infinity from a dealer in November of 2010. They were very proud to offer a clean carfax, saying no accident/Damage. I purchased the car. I decided to sell the car just last month, 9-2015 and the new purchaser was glad to see the no accident report from when I bought it. I had a subscription to carfax and decided it would be a good idea to show that I had never been in an accident. TO MY SURPRISE, I saw the carfax now said Structural Damage. I asked carfax to explain why. Well it seems that they did not have a report of an accident and they said "CARFAX began reporting this information on 07/09/2011." I dont see how you can go from no accident/damage to now reporting structural damage. NO HELP FROM CARFAX and now I will loose money trying to sell my car. I relied on a report and now I cannot get any restitution from Carfax.

I purchased a 2013 Subaru BRZ from a private party with confidence it was a good decision based on the information from CarFax. Having done this multiple times over the years now CarFax has repeatedly proven their value, both for buying and selling. I refer people to CarFax to show the history of what I'm selling as well.

The car I was looking at came back with a report that there had been numerous owners....for a 2011 vehicle. Apparently the first four were dealers who the owners maybe wanted to have for themselves and then decided to let it move on to another dealer. The person I bought it from was the fifth and me the sixth! It originally went to a dealer in NH, then to NY, then to NJ and finally to a dealer in GA where the seller bought it. These were not used car dealers but the OE manufacturer dealers. It was immaculate with very acceptable mileage enough for me to buy it for less than 1/2 the MSRP! I feel I got a good deal thanks to all the history provided by CarFax

I was actually blown away with how amazingly accurate ALL of the information about a certain vehicle was. I WAS interested in purchasing this vehicle before carfax made me realize it's DARK PAST!! Thank you sooooo much carfax for saving me a tin of headaches, and saving my wallet a ton of heartaches also!!

I was making my debut at buying a pre-owned vehicle which was a big necessity when I arrived to US from India. Being new to the trend, I was attracted to a car only by its looks and make. CARFAX paved the right path for me and helped me realize that Car history too is a significant factor in car selection. Saved me from number of wrong choices for a mid-size car, which either had an accident history or a faulty make. I am glad and lucky that I chose CARFAX to buy a used Chevrolet Malibu. Thanks a lot CARFAX for making my life so easy. Feels like Home away from Home!

had an excellent experience and it saved me tons of money on a car. I was looking at a 2000 Honda Accord that said it has 83,000 miles on it and it looked like it did have the correct mileage. Before sealing the deal I ran a Carfax on the car to find out that 2 years ago it had three hundred and forty five thousand miles on it and some sort of fraud taken place. Carfax is truly a lifesaver and I encourage all my friends and family never to buy a car without paying for a Carfax

I paid for a monthly Carfax account, and it worked great for cars coming from individual sellers. However, if I looked at cars from Dealers, all of them offered the service for free. It was nice having the piece of mind knowing the car I was buying had been in an accident or not. It is a scam that they only allow you 5 carfax reports using VIN numbers. Especially when they advertise "Unlimited" searches. All of the private sellers did not display the licence plate number of the vehicles I was interested in, which happens to be the only way to get "Unlimited" searches.

CarFox described what my car went through in the first 100,000 miles so it gave me the confidence to buy it. It was nice to know that their was no major damage or accidents that my car was apart of.
