My daughter had her first job, had saved her money, and was ready to buy her first car. As her dad I wanted to be sure that she spent her money wisely, so I signed up for one month of CARFAX. It was a HUGE help! Kate decided she wanted a compact SUV, and we found a Jeep Liberty that she liked. We checked the CARFAX and found out that it had been taken to a repair shop twice in the last three months to have the front suspension looked at, but that no repairs were done. A few days later we heard that it needed major repair work. Thank you CARFAX! So Kate kept looking and I kept running CARFAX reports. All we needed was the license plate number, and almost every car ad shows either the front or the back bumper well enough to read the plate. Then we found two different Honda CR-V's on two different used car lots. They were the same year, had almost exactly the same mileage, and about the same price. They were essentially identical. We ran a CARFAX on both cars. One report showed regular service at a dealership with all scheduled maintenance performed on time and no major repairs. The other had almost no information so we didn't know if it had been properly cared for. Guess which car she bought? After this experience we will never buy a used car without a good CARFAX report!

Our granddaughter, Sierra, wanted a good, reliable used car for Graduation from High School. So I signed up for the $59 unlimited CARFAX program. After checking many, many cars types via CARFAX and checking car reliability (MSN on the internet) we found a great car. Based on CARFAX car pricing section associated with KBB I offered them them the recommended CAFAX price ($500 less then they wanted) and they took it. The $59 unlimited for one month CARFAX is the BEST DEAL around.

I went to buy a car...the owner swore up and down he was the only owner and it was never in an accident or had any problems... I was able to find out that it was unlicenced for 4 years and that it had 6 owners before him.. I also found out it wasnt originally a turbo porsche which meant the engine was worked on.. Thanks car fax!!!!!

Our company was looking at purchasing a Dodge Sprinter from a private party that was very competitively priced. We would have purchased it, if not for obtaining a CARFAX report. The money spent on the CARFAX was pennies compared to the headaches we would very well suffer if we had made the purchase. CARFAX showed where the Sprinter was actually a total loss, not once, but twice. The first was from an accident within the first year of it's original purchase. The second was water damage received five years later. Thank you CARFAX for keeping us from making a huge mistake.

Carfax helped me sell my car very quickly! Unfortunately my father passed away last month. His pickup truck was left to me, which meant I no longer needed my Park Avenue. It was a 1994 with 144,000 miles. The car was in teriffic shape for its age, but I was expecting a month or two before it sold. I only had the car for 10 months, but never saw a report on it when I purchased it. So I went ahead and ran one in advance of the sale. I discovered I was only its third owner. The report indicated that the value was increased by $450.00 beacuse of its clean history. So just last week I ran a website ad to sell the car. Only 9 hours after the ad posted, I got a call from a prospective buyer. He came right away to look at the car, but didn't give any indication whether he was excited about it or not. He didn't say much even after driving it. But then I showed him the Carfax report i printed. He read through it, put it in the glove box, and simply asked me if I will accept cash today for the car. I accepted what I was asking for the car. It is clear that the Carfax report sealed the deal. best of all, the cash from the sale of the car was used to defray some of my personal expenses in dealing with my father's estate matters, and this has brought some added peace of mind. Needless to say I'm very happy with the Carfax service.

Looking at several, late model VW Jettas in my area I spied one online at an independent dealer's lot in ___, TX. A link to CARFAX was provided but it was not paid for by the dealer. I made an appointment and met a salesman on their lot who'd formerly worked for Mitsubishi. We took the Jetta out for a spin. The car looked sharp but when driven made strange noises from underneath. Back in the dealers office we pulled the CARFAX and, lo-and-behold, the car had suffered serious damage and a title change. Oh well, at least the test drive showed I could live with a Jetta. Next stop was a "real" VW dealer with a Jetta coming in off lease return. To my surprise, the dealer also relied on CARFAX to accurately describe a vehicle in their inventory! The car was a good one and the price was OK so a deal was struck. The short if it is I'll never buy another car without a CARFAX - you shouldn't either.

I have purchased carfax a couple times already. Every time I looked up a car there was something I found wrong with the vehicle that the current owner did not mention or lied about. I am grateful to be able to use carfax because it has saved me from purchasing the wrong vehicle.

I was looking for a specific car that had not been produced since 2004, (chevy Tracker) . Having bought one site unseen, I didn"t want to do that again (ebay), since these cars are not plentiful i bought the yearly pass to car fax. Being mostly concerned with mileage, condition, service records, accidents ,etc. Car fax was the answer.Living in Florida you must concern yourself with salt corrosion and severe rust. Many cars were eliminated because your car fax told me where the car had been delivered to new and where it had been till the present date.I found the car I was looking for, with no accidents, complete service records and never been on the coastline. I will continue to use car fax, with any future purchases.

I have used CarFax for years when I purchased high end cars for personal use. It's always a must regardless of how nice a car is. Cars unfortunately are emotional buys as we all know so well. In today's market it's imperative that one option is buying used ( usually high mileage) vehicles for kids or third transportation. We had just returned from Hawaii and awaiting shipping our two vehicles which takes 30-45 days. Buying a third vehicle, a truck, was a great option. Used trucks are run hard and usually have many miles. Although it was an extensive search it paid off finding this Nissan Titan with 138,000 miles. There were other vehicles cheaper yet they had no service records or the didn't have a clean "CarFax". This truck had extensive schedule maintenance reports at dealership and was kept up and clean across the board. This information proved to be a great asset in my purchase because at 168,000 in 13 months later this truck has been a gem. I just went to sell it and because of the "CarFax" I was able to get top dollar at high end of the value range which proved to be more than I paid. I owe that all to CarFax because that's what showed the value of my vehicle to the buyer. Two months later and the buyer called to tell me what a great truck it's been and it was nice to purchase from an honest seller. I said I appreciate the kind words but it was all documented so that was the easy part! Thank you for your valued service.

We hunted for weeks for a bright yellow Xterra to replace the one we just lost to some black ice. Ultimately we found one that had very high miles -- more than 180k. Normally we would have steered clear, but the Carfax showed amazingly detailed information for all 180k miles of this 2005 model. It included nearly every oil change from dealers (as well as maintenance done by a local "quick lube" chain store). Not only did it show oil changes, but things like exterior light checks, fluid flushes and a bunch of other things. It was a lot more detail than I was expecting, and that Carfax detail gave us the extra push to go ahead and buy this high mileage car with the confidence that it was genuinely cared for.

I have recently decided to move to Roatan, Honduras. A beautiful island in the West Caribbean. When I arrived on the island I started looking to buy a second hand SUV or pick up car. I did not have my expectations very high because importing a car in Honduras in addition to the high freight costs also entails paying 46% import duties. Therefore, I believed that my budget of $10,000 would severely limit the choice of cars. To my amazement there were a number of 2005 and up cars available. All within my budget. I went to see quite a few of these cars and all looked in a very good condition for their age. I was about to put a deposit on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5. That same day, just before going to the dealer, I decided to run the VIN of the car through CarFax. Although, I was in Honduras I thought that it was worth it giving it a shot. To my surprise CARFAX report indicated that the car was in a severe accident and a US JUNK Title had been issued. Obviously, it was bought by the Honduran dealer, repaired and it was sold as a "normal" used car. Obviously I walked away from this "deal". In the same way I checked quite a number of cars and all had the same kind of "flaw". A US JUNK Title!!! Finally, I found a car that was for sale by an expat going back to the US. He imported the car from the USA when he first arrived in Honduras. So CARFAX saved me from buying a real "lemon" even if a was a couple of thousands miles outside the US. Thank you CARFAX.

I never purchased a used car sight unseen until recently. I had been searching for the perfect 2011 Mustang GT for quite a while using online car shopping sites and I always focused on the cars available within a 50 to 75 mile radius of my home. The CARFAX reports offered by the selling dealers was always the first thing I reviewed. Since I had no luck finding the car I wanted locally, I expanded my search and found my Mustang at a dealer hundreds of miles away. They did not offer a free CARFAX report so I purchased one. The clean CARFAX was one of the key items on my used car purchase checklist and without it, I would never have completed the long distance purchase process and had the Mustang shipped to my home.

CARFAX helped greatly in assuring seller was on track. Bought car from Craigslist. Seller had described all the conditions correctly. When I examined the car, all evidence was present. Car was in good condition and operated satisfactorily. I couldn't talk him into filling the gas tank though. Good transaction both parties. Will use CARFAX again when needed.

"I had gone to a few car dealers on a "strip" in Hartford, CT and stopped into a Volvo showroom. Screaming at me in the middle of the floor was a bright red 2013 XC60 R-design. I had not planned on buying a Volvo, but its looks and the 'too-good-to-be-true' price and story behind this pre-owned were gonna require me to call on Da Fox. I summoned up my browser on my smartphone and saw a clean bill of health on the car, so I made my offer, and drove off with the car the next day! Thanks, CarFax!".

Peace of Mind?.In a nut shell this is what I received by using Carfax. I had done all of my research in looking for a safe and quality vehicle for my 16 year old daughter. She had her hopes set on a Chevy Avalanche, not your normal vehicle for a 16 year old girl, unless of course she tows a horse trailer. Through on-line websites I narrowed down the years and the models to avoid but there was still the nagging question as to the quality and history of the individual vehicle we found. I was amazed at the thoroughness of the Carfax report and happily read through years of service reports that were clearly listed in detail. I contacted one of the service center?s listed on the Carfax report and asked for clarification on a service that was listed as recently completed. The service center technician helpfully explained the extent of the service and as he remembered the vehicle, commented on its condition and quality and assured me that I was making a good purchase. Thank you for your product.

I was looking to buy a truck, just for the occasional use. Not a daily driver. Carfax led me to find this awesome 99 Ford Ranger from the Ohio/Michigan border. I went down to the used car lot, and the car was in awesome shape. Fortunately, I bought a vehicle with 4 wheel drive to make it home in the blizzard I went down there in. Thanks Carfax!

Most people use CarFax to investigate a car they would like to purchase. Well, my story is that I successfully used CarFax to SELL a car! As I organized a folder with my car?s service records, oil changes, receipts for new tires and everything else I thought a prospective buyer would like to have, I suddenly thought, why not order a Car Fax for MY car? After all, I was helping myself by saving the time the buyer would need to check it all out themselves. Guess what? I put my car up for sale and posted copies of the CarFax along with it, and it was sold within 24 hours. Well worth it!

2 years ago I was looking for a 2000 LS 400 Lexus sedan and I live in Kansas so they are not that plentiful here so I searched on the national level. After reviewing the carfax on each car I was not satisfied with the types of repairs done on most of them until I came accross a cream puff in Nashville, TN. After reviewing the carfax on that car and seeing that it had been well maintained I made the decision to purchase it based on the pictures and your carfax and I got in my Toyota Corolla Trade-In and drove down and pruchased the LS400. I still have it today and is one of the best cars I have ever owned.

I was searching for an suv or large cargo vehicle since my family recently acquired a big dog. We love to travel and we now needed more space than my current Suzuki Sx-4. With the help of the carfax 5 pkg. I was able to find the perfect cargo vehicle with decent gas milage, my 2010 Dodge Journey! I am so pleased with my purchase, Carfax gave me information on the vehicle that the dealer didn't have! Now, I will recommend Carfax to anyone looking to get a used vehicle. Thanks, Carfax!
