Carfax has helped me search for great cars for my entire family. Our eighteen year old grand daughter was able to purchase an excellent car (2003 Chevy Cavalier) in excellent condition that had never been in an accident; with excellent service records; from a private owner; & was sold below blue book value. My daughter was also able to purchase a truck (2001 Chevy Blazer) her sixteen year old daughter that was also in excellent condition with the help of carfax . My son was also able to purchase a car (2003 Chevy Impala) for his family that was also in excellent condition using carfax. As a matter of fact; my son is in the process of looking for another car & or mini van to seat at least six (because he has a large family) & is still using carfax in his search to find the perfect vehicle to meet his family's needs. So this entry will be on his behalf.

We came across a great deal on a C4 Corvette. I activated my CARFAX membership but for some reason my password got reset. I tried many ways to reset my password but contact via customer support was the only way to get it reset. I then found out CARFAX only has email customer support. It took several days to have my password reset and I missed out on the opportunity to purchase the car because I could not look up the CARFAX. Two years ago I got a great deal on a Cadillac SRX because CARFAX showed it was AWD and had clean title. Fast forward to 2014 and CARFAX let me down. BTW, In the late 1980s, I actually worked on CARFAX's DEC computer in Columbia, MO when CARFAX's entire data center was in a room the size of a closet.

I was set on buying a 2008 subaru wrx but feared it was abused and not taken care of. The carfax showed me indeed it had meticulous service records and was just the opposite. Thanks carfax!

I bought a used Jeep Liberty Renegade from Clearwater CDJ in Clearwater FL in October 2014. The Carfax stated there was no body damage and based on the overall condition of the Jeep and it's low miles, we bought it. However, the next day, after a more closer inspection, I notice sheet metal damage on the tailgate behind the spare tire! I contacted the dealer the next day and they declined to do anything about it. I don't know if the original owner did the damage or the dealer did. It was my fault that I didn't inspect the Jeep more thoroughly before purchasing the Jeep. I spent $1100.00 getting the tailgate replaced and painted. Overall it's a great Jeep, but the dealer has been totally ignoring my request for any or all compensation.

I was trying to sell my car online but didn't get much action. A neighbor suggested to put a Carfax report along with the advertisement. I did and the just like that. The car was sold the next day.

I Purchased a 2005 Corvette that showed an accident where the vehicle was considered a total loss by the insurance company. It was minor damages and the airbags did not deploy. The dealer had all of the repair documents, and all parts were new OEM. I felt confident about purchasing this vehicle due to the documentation provided by CARFAX and the dealer. I saved $10,000 over Blue Book value! It was great to negotiate from a position of knowledge about the vehicle and save a ton of cash!

I was looking to buy a Honda Odyssey, and my brother suggested me to check them out in CARFAX, we saw 2 or 3 from private seller, and the "one" we were going to buy, with cash in hand, had the mileage altered. Thanks to CARFAX I didn't bought that broken car, it has more than 100,000 miles erased. I'm glad for this service!

I was in need of another work car and faced with a lot of hype from three car dealers. Glad I went to Carfax before I made my final decision, or I would still be looking for that "possible lemon."

Finding my dream car was a journey. Carfax helped me eliminate a half dozen choices prior to finding my one-owner Mercedes CL500. Whenever a seller said he "didn't know" about something I ran a Carfax and usually found multiple ownerships, evidence of flipping or, in one case, an accident before the car was even sold when it was new. Thanks Carfax. Lan L.

I was looking at buying a vehicle and it had been listed as not actual mileage. After a short review of the carfax, it was easy to find the typo when the vehicle had been titled at 648,000 miles shortly after a vehicle emissions inspection tagging the vehicle at just under 64,800 miles.

My car journey has been turbulent and when I decided to buy private I knew I had to invest in a CarFax subscription. Best decision I've ever made. I felt confident as a woman calling to inquire about cars knowing the vehicle history (or sometimes lack thereof). I found the exact car I was looking for and having the CarFax made my decision not only easier but I was content and confident. Thank you CarFax!

I used CarFax to help me widdle down a list of about 6 Camaro's I was not local to down to 2 vehicles. Although it doesn't provide all of the details, Carfax is a good jumping off point when looking for a used car.

I was looking for a Subaru Outback for my son to take to college. I did a search on Autotrader and located a 2006 Outback at a Subaru dealer that was in the price range we were looking for, but had 58,000 miles on it. I ran the VIN number and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a one owner trade that had been serviced at a Subaru dealer and had received all recommended factory services and no accidents. I bought this vehicle 3 years ago, My son has put 40,000 miles on it without a problem. Well worth looking into the history on a vehicle.
