I was in the market for a Corvette when I came across a1996 listed locally. The seller had Collector Edition badges on the car which would have raised its value. While he was talking, I pulled the Car Fax report on my phone which showed it was a standard Vette. This information saved me thousands of dollars!!! Thanks for the help.

I paid for the car fax report and could not view the report that I paid for. This is not user friendly application. I have used it before but now it is now taking the money from users that can't view the results of the research . I will not use or refer car fax again

A few years ago I went and looked at multiple 03 Lincoln LS's. I found a really nice one that I fell in love with and the price was right at a fairly large used car dealer and I was ready to deal. I asked the salesman if he had a Carfax on the car nd he went back inside the office to get it for me. When he came outwith it the expression on his face had changed and I could tell it was not good,he started to apologize when he got near me and handed me the Carfax. Well it turns out the car had been turned in twice under the lemon law and resold in another state and after the second selling it was in an accident and given a salvage title and somehow got rebuilt and now on this lot in NY. Thank God for Carfax,I was able to walk away and find a reputable dealer that had a one owner car with a clean history with a Carfax guarantee.

many seeller tried to fool me to buy their cars but carfax repots helped me to discover the history of cars for that I recommend everyone who wants to buy a car to check its carfax where many sellers or dealer might lie on you about accident, mileage and passing emission test. Trust by carfax report then your mechanic even if you are buying from friends or well-known people. The program is very easy to use specially when you downloaded on your smart phone.

I buy and sell used cars all the time but always make sure I get a clean one I have found a couple of cars that are listed salvaged on carfax and on the title it said clean title which was a scam as well as the mileage rolled back I catch that a lot thanks to carfax.

CARFAX saved me from buying a used card that had multiple issues not revealed by the seller. Car odometer was rolled back to ~75k from 205K. without CARFAX this would have never been revealed.

Thought that the cost for this service was extremely expensive for the type of information that was given. I can get the same type of information for free from state DOL records for free. And to limit the amount of vin searches was a total cost rip off.

I decided to check the Carfax of my Audi vehicle a few months after purchase and having a few odd issues, found out a large bad history on my vehicle been a fact a Lemon due to a substantial unibody damage not been disclosed by dealer, will never buy another used vehicle even with very low miles without a Carfax report.

October 2015 I was visiting my Daughter in Dallas Tx. area, I went their to also try to find a rust free southern Pick-Up. After looking at several I found the right truck, I thought This truck was a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 deisel, It had high miles but was in almost to good to be true condition! I arrived at the address early and started looking the truck over. I was in awe, upon the owners arrival I questioned him and test drove the truck, no issues. I wanted this truck and decided to buy, I left them with a deposit and a date to meet to finalize the deal on Monday. I did ask them if the truck was ever in an accident or any problems, the answer was no!! On the way back to my Daughters Home I kept thinking the truck was to good to be true, my Daughter agreed with me. Upon first arriving at Her Home I went on Line to CARFAX, We had taken a picture of the Truck and Title, Thank God for CARFAX The truck was from Arkansas and owned last by Allstate Insurance. The truck was in an accident in April 2015 and Totalled!!!! I met with the owners om Monday and got my deposit back. The purchase price was $11,000.00, my deposit was $500,00, and CARFAX charge me $40.00 Thank You CARFAX!!!!!!!!! Dennis Prine 440-313-8595

My car received some paint scrapes on the quarterpanel from someone while it was parked in a parking lot. I got it repaired since it is a new car. Now CarFax says it was in an "accident" which to most reader means a real crash with real damage. So you have greatly decreased the value of my car because you don't distinguish between "accident" and "paint chip." Thanks so much.

I didn't get all my carfaxes I paid for. I purchased the largest package. Buying a preowned car is a process. Im sure I clicked to agree to your terms, and Im sure your online terms like everyone else's is a thousand pages long that no one reads and absolves you from responsibly providing the services paid for because of unfair time limits. If I get 10. I should get 10 without limits of time. Sometimes we have things arise in our lives and buying a car has to take a backseat. However, when the time comes where I can look again, my remaining unused carfaxes should be waiting for me. Also, carfaxes is too easily manipulated by dealers. I had looked a a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee at a dealer in Queens NY. The dealer had posted their own free carfax. Carfax came up with a roll back warning, it also warned of a possible data entry error. But the error was for 2 years in a row. When I questioned the dealer about the carfax, they got back to me hours later with a new carfax with the 2 years in question regarding odometer rollback deleted from the history. I understand not everything gets reported to carfax but nothing should be deleted upon request of a dealer trying to make a sale. Needless to say i didn't buy the jeep but I now view all carfax and car check reports with extreme scrutiny. However, I am still in the market and would like my remaining carfaxes that I didn't use since they're all paid for anyway. If not, its pretty much like you stole my money. Maybe not 100% if my money is stolen but a percentage is unless I get all my carfaxes. If you care about being honest and providing an honest service for the money you charged me, you'll allow me my remaining carfaxes.

was looking to buy a 2012 ford focus from a well know dealer in my area, I asked for a CarFax but the salesman gave me a AutoCheck and it stated no accidents. I went home to think about it and I pulled a CarFax up to check car out and so glad I did it stated 1 accident with structural damage , I went back to dealer to show them report, they weren't to happy to see the report and weren't as friendly as they were at first. I didn't buy car thanks to CarFax, money well spent. Gary

Our family of 8 needed a dependable vehicle. After receiving the paperwork on our vehicle of 5 years, stating it had been in a previous accident. We knew that bad carfax was the best option for our next car purchase. We bought 10 carfax reports and am grateful for the detailed information and history we received on each vehicle we looked at. Private sellers typically didn't include accident reports, recall's or any info that would cast a concern. Thankfully Carfax allowed us the resources to make a positive investment toward the most dependable vehicle we could find.

Last fall, I found a used car on eBay that looked great. Very low miles for a 1999 auto. But the seller was more than an hour away, so it felt like a risky sale from my end. I looked up the car on CARFAX, and the information reassured me about the quality of the car. I bought it, and it's worked out just fantastic! Great deal that I might have missed if not for CARFAX.
