“When I am in the market to purchase a vehicle. I always open an account with Carfax. After getting a vehicle VN or license plate number, a Carfax report gives me all the information about a vehicle that I need to make a smart decision. It shows the origin, numbers of owners, and most important, it shows the number of accidents that have been recorded on the vehicle. It also tells you whether the vehicle has a salvage title and provide a formula to calculate for vehicle with salvage titles so you don't over pay.”

“i used car fax prior to trading it in to get the most for it. the dealer used another service called accuchek that showed an accident that was not on car fax - this is the second time that car fax has let me down with info around a car deal - the last one did not show a buy back on a vehicle i purchased”

“My wife went to a dealership and purchased a 2010 Chevy Camaro. I texted her to ask them for the carfax. The salesperson said no problem we have that and will share the data with her before signing the papers. That did not happen as they got her confused with other papers and programs and extended warranty talk. I purchased the full Carfax package and right away found that the reason the 4 year old car has 70,000 miles is it was purchased and used a a rental car. Other items raised red flags as the car was from Texas and neighboring states that have had severe storms the last few years. My advice is get the Carfax on your own and use that as a tool in determing if the vehicle is what you want. The dealer will not help with this if it shines a negative light on the pending purchase. Money well spent.”

“Bought a 2012 Prius v based on info on Carfax. Wanted to be sure the mileage and services were correct. Found the mileage to be OK, but the write up in Carfax on the one corrective maintenance item performed by a dealer was a little off. I contacted the dealer and they reviewed with me what the service was - agreed with the seller's description. I have since attempted to correct the wording in Carfax so the correct story is recorded for any future inquiry.”

“It all started when I decided to buy a car (Honda Civic) from a private party. Had to get on the history and Carfax was the quick one to get it. Enrolled and got the complete vehicle history with quite a good tips on what to watch out for while buying the car. The checklist was really helpful though. Its easy, quick and more dependable. Thank you.”

“Carfax was helpful to me in two ways, within days of each other. I ordered a Carfax on my 2002 Cadillac which whowed that I was truthful in my assessment of the vehicle and brought me top dollar. The second time was when I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The carfax proved to me that the good condition was not incidental. My Sonata had been a rental car previously and everything about it was imaculate. I am so pleased with the Carfax reports. J. Marver”

“I read for $58.62 I was to get unlimited carfaxes. I did not. I only got five than was shut off. That is a sad way to do business.”

“Carfax was a must in locating just the right car. I searched many cars on Carfax and found that it became a nessessity not an option. I would not buy a car without using this tool.”

“being effected from the crash of 09 , the economy falling short ..my wife and I have watched pennies and have looked at all spending a little closer , recently I had the opportunity to purchase a new used 08 gmc truck . I used car fax to determine the trucks history and to comfort my purchase , as some of you know the last 5 years have made us all more aware of the resources to prevent being taken advantage of AND carfax is definetly one I relyed on .. Thanks”
