“Like everyone else, I was look for an extraordinary automobile bargain that was not only reliable, but also satisfied a fairly narrow set of desirable criteria for the car I wanted to buy. Initially, the super-wide selection available on the internet from Cars.com, KBB, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Ebay, Amazon, etc., etc. etc.; was overwhelming in its magnitude. CARFAX was the singularly most informative, trusted and user-friendly tool available. The ability to track the history of repairs, accidents, repairs, mileage and emissions testing of each car helped me whittle the list of potential purchases down to four really excellent local choices. When I located the best of those choices; a mint-condition, low-mileage, scrupulously-serviced, loaded with every factory and dealer option except surround sound, 1999 Volvo V70 XC in my favorite color for under $3000 ($2490); I was ecstatic!! And when I was able to get an additional $100 off because the CARFAX report informed me that it had been in the dealer's back lot for the last three months, I was fully satisfied I had gotten the best deal I have ever experience in all my 45 years of car buying. I had happily paid $2500 in 2000 for a low-mileage, well-maintained 1981 Volvo 245dl that originally sold for $12,300 new. Paying $2,390 for this pristine 1999 V70 XC that originally sold for $38,000 new would not have been possible without CARFAX. The $60.21 (including sales tax) I paid for the unlimited CARFAX reports option saved me from having to spend $100-300 per vehicle to have them properly inspected. The only improvement i can think of is that there should be no limit on the number of reports you can get using the VIN for identification. Getting the license number for used cars over the phone can be a very time-consuming and grueling experience.”

“found the truck my husband wanted after a year of searching, a 2000 GMC Sierra, with no rust or problems, seemed too good to be true, checked the history with carfax and it was clean as a whistle! Took me more time to find this truck then it did to find the new house we bought! Carfax really sealed the deal, let us know we weren't buying a lemon”

“Through carfax I found out that a car I was looking at had 4 other owners, which I thought it had less and that was great info to know! Also showed all the owners and locations it was and recorded mileage. It showed that it had a clean title and no major accidents were recorded, I bought the car essentially based on a carfax and a visual inspection, had the car for 6 months now and it's still running great and I love it, will probably use carfax on my next purchase, it's not super expensive and might give you peace of mind”

“I shortlisted 3-4 vehicles and do the CAR FAX while i go for inspection of the vehicle. I have almost shortlisted a Toyota Camry which the owner was pretending as second owner actually CARFAX reported that he was a fourth owner and he was not aware of the previous owners and the old service history. It saved me in buying undervalued overpriced car.”

“The car fax report gave me piece of mind when purchasing my vehicle. It Allowed me to see the service history how many owners. It was definitely the deciding factor of me going thru with my purchase . I highly recommend it. It will tell you what the salesman want!!!!!”

“I did not purchase a car from.... Carfax....but I did use them, to find out the history, on a vehicle that I purchased recently.... I was told things, from the previous owner that was not true, if it wasn't for the history report.com sex gave meif it wasn't for the history report that....Carfax, gave me, I've could, have made some bad decisions, thanks....Carfax”

“i was in the market for a 90's vehicle in high demand. Carfax allowed me to check history at my fingertips, the minute a new add came up. I quickly found out that the model I was after is very prone to odometer rollbacks, salvage, and other title issues. I eventually found a diamond in the rough with low miles, and in great condition. Had I not used carfax I believe I would have settled for a lesser car.”

“I purchased the FIVE CARFAX approx. two months ago for $56.00, used ONE and now have been blocked from getting the remaining amount because my other purchased reviews "Expired". That's BS. VERY DISIPPOINTED because it was not clear that purchased reviews had a very short time limit.”

“I found a car for my daughter on Craigslist that seemed to be a great deal. However, it wasn't as good as I thought! The carfax showed that the car actually had more miles than the odometer was showing. Thank God I checked the car fax!”

“I purchased Carfax and Autocheck at the same time when I was shopping for my next used car in the first quarter of 2015. I found out that some of the cars showed no accident histories on Carfax, has accident histories on Autocheck. Carfax is not doing a good job in reporting accident histories. Luckily I bought two car history checking services to compare, otherwise I could have purchased a used car with an accident history without knowing.”

“I found a 2011 Hyundai Genesis on EBay that was listed at least $6,000 below Kelly Blue Book in Muskegon, Michigan. Upon reviewing the Carfax report, I saw that it had a salvage title. I called the dealer to find out why it had that title and they told me that it had hit a deer which damaged the right front fender. They said the car was exceptional and that the repair was excellent. I bought the car and flew up to Muskegon. It was as advertised, and I drove it back to my home in Florida. The car performed very well and it is one of my best buys ever. The Carfax report detailed the damage very well and gave me the confidence to buy the car.”

“Carfax helped prevent me from purchasing 2 different disaster cars. The first was a 2006 Pontiac Solstice, in which I purchased a CarFax report 30 minutes before purchase to find out the car had frame damage, & 2 previous wrecks. The second car was a 2008 Saturn Sky in which the report revealed the car had been stolen at one point, had a salvaged Title, been wrecked 3 times. Needless to say, CarFax saved me!!!!”

“CARFAX SAVED MY POCKETS! TWICE i was ready to buy a 2004 Acura TL milege on cluster said 160K. After carfax check the car really had 235k and 2007 Acura TL cluster stated 91k after carfax the car had 190k. Thanks to carfax i saved stress and headaches !.”

“My Wife and Myself were looking for a good first car for our Daughter, we found several vehicles for her, and let her pick a couple to eliminate some, we then used Carfax to help us eliminate all vehicles involved in collisions and incorrect mileage. “I would like to say thank you to carfax for saving me from making an expensive mistake. I found a really nice truck from out of state that I was interested in. After running a carfax I saw that the really nice truck was totalled at one time and had a salvage title. To make matters worse the title was washed and was being passed off as a clean title . The truck was being sold by private owner and I would have purchased it in cash on the spot being stuck with a truck that couldn't be titled in the state of N.J. After looking at numerous trucks and running car faxes on all of them I was surprised at how valuable this service really is. I am now the proud owner of a vehicle that I know the history about. “I have used CARFAX ever since its existence although I recently purchased a 2010 Mercedes Benz S550, I was told by the salesman he had the CARFAX details but he never showed it to me and I forgot to ask besides I trusted the brand. I totally regret it 3 days after I checked under the hood and some things just didn't feel right, then I decided to run the CARFAX record and OMG !! I brought the car back to the dealer and returned it, I was so glad they actually took it back otherwise would it be a nightmare, so never again, CARFAX is right tool when purchasing a car.”
