It helped me narrow down the car of my dream. First few cars I saw the seller hide the fact there was damage. Carfax assured me otherwise

I was looking to buy a car for my son for college and we found a nice clean looking older Dodge avenger that was advertised as a clean title. When we ran the Carfax we found that it had actually been in three accidents. Then we found a nice looking Scion and again advertised as a clean title. We ran the Carfax and found that it had been in three accidents and had formally been totaled but we found out that the state doesnt list a salvage title on cars after they are eight years old. Then we found the car we bought :) a Ford FX5 with a truely clean title, low miles and a great service history. I would never buy a used car again without Carfax. Thanks CARFAX

My daughter was hit be a deer and totaled her car. We needed to find a reasonable used car quickly! The first car had multiple owners and accidents. The second car was one owner with no accidents!!!! Glad we had Car Fax!

Carfax allows me to check the history of a car before purchase. I have used the service for years to help me get a good used car. I recently wanted to purchase a 2000 Special Edition Mazda Miata. I was able to find a low-mileage 2-owner cream puff just 140 miles away. By pulling the Carfax, I was ready to make an offer when I first saw the car. In fact, I had taken a certified check with me for the amount of my offer and I bought the car on the spot! Years ago I bought a certified used car from a local dealer. Did not "bother" with a Carfax. When I got ready to sell the car 6 years later, I found out that the car had been wrecked prior to my buying it from the dealer - that hurt my resale value. So, I no longer skip the Carfax!

I was interested in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous from a local dealer in Fairbury, Nebraska. Everything the dealer had listed sounded wonderful. We all know that sometimes what you read can be too good to be true. So I used CARFAX to see the whole story about the vehicle. It helped me make the decision to go look at and test drive the Rendezvous. The story had a happy ending to everyone's satisfaction. I bought the Buick Rendezvous based a lot on the CARFAX information. It really helped me a lot. Thank you.

CARFAX let me know that the Civic Si I had my eyes on had a salvage title in another state but was "title washed" and appeared as a clean title in my state. Turns out the car also had an incorrect odometer reading. I'd say that the price of CARFAX was worth it considering the headaches it saved me from buying a car from an untrustworthy seller. Also, it's been fun looking up my old cars and seeing what states they ended up in.

I love to buy and sell cars , not in my wildest dreams would I do it without CARFAX . There are so many people advertising a bunch of lies , it's really sad that society has gotten like this , but thank goodness for CARFAX , all the truth comes out after running the CARFAX report. CARFAX is worth every penny ! Thank you for offering such a great service . Daan Z. San Diego

Carfax is an essential resource when purchasing a used vehicle. I've searched nearly 5 months in the used car ads. Without the use of Carfax you cannot tell whether the car was in an accident or had maintenance work done consistently. I eventually found a used car while researching another car on the Carfax website. The car had no accident records and the maintenance was complete throughout the car history. Great resource for purchasing a car.

I was ready to buy a 2008 Jeep Wrangler until I checked the Carfax and found that the history of the vehicle did not match what the seller was telling me. I did not buy the vehicle based on the Carfax information, however, I found another vehicle with an excellent Carfax report, very detailed, and I did purchase that one. I will always check Carfax before buying any used vehicle again.

I think car fax is the only reliable way to find out The history of how a car has done before buying For some reason. Some dealers do not offer much Information only listing car was serviced and those cars I eliminate from buying list. Giving me option to move On to a more clear history. Who wants a risk with a used car

I was looking to buy a car from a private party, I found one that I liked, I asked to the seller of the car had any issue or accident, he told me that he didn't know from the first buyer, I checked using carfax just to find out that the airbag was exploted because the car was involved in an accident. I am glad that I use carfax to buy my car I found another clean one. I recommend it just smart to checked before you spend your money.

I went to look at a 2008 Infiniti G37S at a small used car dealership in town. The car looked nice online and was priced right but before I arrived I ran a Carfax and confirmed it had been in a prior collision. Upon seeing the car I noticed that the headlights did not fit properly, the bumpers were misaligned and the paint was shoddy. The salesman admitted that it had been in a prior collision and they bought it with no bumpers. They installed front & rear bumpers from an IRL model which didn't fit properly. They installed newer model headlights that didn't fit properly. They had installed larger wheels from another year model which sat too tightly in the wheel wells. Armed with the Carfax and all of the red flags associated with this car I decided to pass. I later bought a nice, clean and clear G37S from another dealership!

As a mother of three "mostly" grown children, I have always encouraged my kids to get the Carfax before they spend their hard earned money on a car. I am proud to say that because they got the "Fax", they have all made good choices with their cars. Getting the facts is a valuable life skill. Lisa

I was looking at a 1997 Lexus LX450 for $4600. I just wanted the ARB bumper (worth $1,000) and the rims and tires ($ 1500 or so) The seller said it had low miles. I found out the miles had been rolled back and that it had a Salvege title. I bought it for $2600 swapped out the tires and bumper with the one I own and then sold the car with a Salvage Tilte and miles unknown for $3200. Carfax gave me all of the Ammo I needed to negotiate the price way down...THANKS CF!!!!!!

I found out that my 1999 Buick Century had been a rental car and the 2013 Buick that I had already purchased was a salvaged vehicle.

In my quest to buy a car i was weary about getting a used car.I needed a car as soon a possible so that i could go to college this coming semester. I was in a bit of a dilemma considering I was to broke to buy a new car off the lot. Furthermore, the dealership cars were way out of my budget. So, my last resort was to buy a used car off craigslist. Not to mention, winter was around the corner and i couldn't brave the cold from work or school. Which would be practically impossible considering i live where public transport doesn't come. Anyways, the first car i was adamant about was a Mazda Miata. It was an automatic with 145 thousand miles. I was just about to buy it when i ran the CARFAX and found out it was a TOTAL car and the owner vowed to me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. Furthermore, i ran two Honda's CARFAX both had no problems. To me i found it a bit too good to be true. So, i took it upon myself and hired a mechanic from YourMechanic for a pre purchase inspection and they arranged to go see the two Honda's. One Honda had minor problems and a few bumps and scratches the other one had a transmission problem. Not to mention, the first honda which had minor problems had a lot of owners based on the CARFAX. However, i bought the Honda with minor problems and based on the CARFAX, YOUR MECHANIC, and google I was grateful to find my dream car. Which was a 2001 Honda Civic EX gold with 142000 miles on it. Lastly, i was so grateful for CARFAX that i bought the unlimited CARFAX report membership, i vowed not to splurge money on a brand new car off the lot, and to always run a CARFAX regardless of how adamant you are about the vehicle.
