“I looked long and hard for a used pickup truck but was frustrated by the reluctance of car dealerships to give me a total picture of my potential purchase. Having and using the Carfax website gave me the total picture of my potential buy as well as giving me the negotiating information I needed to be sure I was not being taken advantage of. It is of great importance for our kids to be in a safe car that is free from defects. “I went to the dealer looking for a Trailblazer it was gone so he showed me a 2004 Cadillac SRX of course I was skeptical because the price was so low CARFAX let me know the first owner had had the car for 7 years and the second owner had the car for 4 years :) new tires and some minor maintenance was all it needed now it runs like a champ thanks CarFox!”

“As I was searching for a vehicle for myself I came across 3 that I loved ! They drove great, sounded excellent and shined like new. Thank goodness for CarFax or I would have ended up with some major problems! One car had prior Major Accident Total Loss, One was Flooded and the other "1 Owner" car actually had 7 owners! These questions were some of the first I asked the sellers and they were all being dishonest. Thank You CarFax! J, Makovic Homes”

“I was in search for a Subaru Outback with a limited budget. After searching for almost 3 months, I was able to locate a couple I was interested in. One had 112,000 miles, the other 170,000 miles. The one with 112,000 miles looked a bit rougher, but I figured it must be a better buy due to low mileage for a 2002. As I was, literally about to hand over $2500 to the seller, my fiance suggested we view CarFax Report. I, honestly, thought it was pointless, but I went along. We found that the odometer was tampered with because the previous reported odometer reading was 198,000 miles. CarFax not only saved us from being deceived, but also from potentially very expensive auto repairs. We ran CarFax on the one with 170,000 miles and found that it had regular maintenance and accurate odometer reading, plus only two owners. We have had the car for a few months and we couldn't be happier. Thank you CarFax!”

“In August, 2014, it was very important for me to purchase a reliable used vehicle for my daughter who would be attending 1st year of college over 1200 miles from home. In the process of transporting her and all of her college needs, my wife and I only had two days to shop and complete a transaction for the vehicle. CARFAX and all of the information they have available were completely instrumental in closing a very good deal for a highly rated used vehicle that needs only some cosmetic repair. The car sold for under Bluebook value and a dealer brand assessment was that the car could easily expect another 100,000 miles. We are relieved that we were able to have found such a reliable vehicle with an identified good price that we could afford. It would have been virtually impossible for us to have accomplished this without CARFAX”

“Was shopping for a used truck. After 10 years in Illinois, you no longer need to give odometer information. Well, 3 out of 4 trucks I checked had odometers rolled back 50-150k miles! Pricing plans are a little hokey. 1 for $39.99 or 5 for $49.99???? Or, unlimited "license plate checks for $54.99? A plate can be quickly switched or go missing. I wouldn't trust a license plate check on a purchase”

“After an auto accident, I was in need of a vehicle quickly and had my heart set on a specific make/model of a car. Used Carfax looking at over 50 vehicles in the area, personally looked at 10 cars all with different issues. Found a single owner, low milage of the car the Sunday before my car trip. The Carfax made it worth the 60 mile drive to see the car and, I bought the car on the spot. I have been happy ever since.”

“CarFax saved us from buying a car that came with a so-called "clean" title. The seller told us that the car's airbags had never deployed and it had not been "totaled" in an accident. He gave us another company's car history report that was incomplete ( he referred to it as a CarFox!) At the last minute we decided to do a CarFax and so glad we did! The car had been in a bad accident, head -on into a utility pole, airbags deployed and it was totaled and sold for salvage/junk. It was then transferred to two other states and somehow came out with a "clean" title. Thanks CarFax!”

“Im a college student who really needed a daily driver. I was doing what every typical college student with a tight budget does and looked up a car on craigslist. There i found a very nice looking Honda for a cheap price, so i contacted him and asked if the car is in good working condition, if it was in a collision, did it have a clean title, etc. He said everything was perfect. But i still had a weird feeling so i went on CARFAX and did a report on the car and it turned out the car had about 100,000 more miles than what the owner said, it did not have a clean title, and it was involved in a collision! I am very glad i did the report and if it wasnt for CARFAX i would honestly have a junk car right now, and my hard earned money in the trash. Thanks CARFAX”

“I found a vechile on Craigslist that was listed as a 2002. I did a carfax and found out that it was a year newer and that my son would be the fifth owner of a truck with low mileage and a clean record. The carfax made us know that we needed to seal the deal. My son is now the proud owner of a 2003 Ford Ranger.”

“Spent the money for unlimited car history checks, which I thought was self explanatory. Apparently it means only being able to run the Vin number 5 times, the rest of however many it actually would have given me needed a license plate numer which is very handy when your shopping online at dealerships where the cars have no license plates.”

“I was looking for a rather hard to find vehicle and was having no luck finding anything local, so I had to resort to shopping out of state. Purchasing a vehicle face to face is stressful enough, but doing it without seeing the seller OR THE CAR in person is quite a further leap up in stress! But that stress was significantly knocked down thanks to the information provided by the CARFAX report. The CARFAX records not only provided me with ownership history but they included service history (which showed the owners having been quite diligent in maintaining the car)! CARFAX is just plain-sense insurance. I wouldn't look to purchase another used vehicle (especially if it's one I cannot inspect myself) without a CARFAX report!”
