You don't EVER want to shop online with Cato. It can take up to 30 days for a refund AFTER the warehouse decides to confirm that they received your return. PLUS shipping charges will be deducted from your refund. I have yet to have a good customer service experience (called 3 times about my return). The Customer Service reps apparently feel that your call is irrelevant and they could not care less about the status of your purchase or your return (yet your purchase keeps them employed). There were 2 parts of the return label. I used one part to put on the outside of the package, and kept the second/bottom part for my records, as instructed. However, the part that I kept did not have all of the information that was needed when I called about the status of my refund. It did not have the tracking number. So customer service reps had no idea whether the distribution center had received my return; though I used THEIR return label. Based on my several calls, it seems that the customer service department can not see any information from the distribution center regarding returned items, so they have no idea of what to say to you about the status of your return and your refund so they become unconcerned and rude to get you off the phone. Cato's antiquated internal IT systems (customer service vs. distribution center) are not my concern, and as a customer I should not have to suffer because of it. Again, you don't EVER want to shop online with Cato.

I ordered a pair of their pants online -- they arrived stained and damaged. When I reached out to customer service about a shipping label return, they said I had to pay for the return shipping. Daisha (customer service person) denied being able to see (obvious) damage in the photos I sent and refused to help in any way. Daisha's rudeness and lack of skills resulted in Cato losing a customer over a $6.95 shipping label.

Disrespectful management 4.1.22 Stacy Romero acting manager at 5700 University Place Boulevard, Charlotte NC. Customer asked if they had an item in the plus side, Stacy replied “I don’t know this is not my store”. When the customer was checking out she said to Stacy, I shop here all the time it would have been nice if you could have looked to see if the item was available, but you made know effort to help me. She was not rude merely expressing that she would like to have had assistance. Stacy, called the other worker and walked away from the register, as the customer was telling her what happened Stacy comments from across the store loudly and rudely. After the customer said to Stacy that she has never had this experience in Cato and shops this store very regularly Stacy said, we’re all tired what do we expect her to do and just continued very disrespectfully. After listening and waiting over five minutes I asked the cashier who is managing the store, on to find out Stacy was acting manager. Then Stacy said, I call my manager for you. I told her, her actions were very inappropriate and disrespectful. Then Stacy begins walking back and forth talking rudely. The other worker never attempted to interject or ask Stacy to not comment. I was totally offended by her actions and comments of disrespect.

The Cato on Colllege Rd in Wilmington NC has definitely gone down hill. I have shopped there for at least 3 years and the Old manager Dana was the bomb I have spent thousands of dollars in that store and when she left the new staff is awful. They could care less if you are in the store or not. They are dressed so sloppy to say the least. Cato has been my go too for years but after the last few experiences I have had with them in the Wilmington Store on College Road, I will shop elsewhere. I have called the District Manager twice and expressed my concern and she does absolutely nothing. I will never shop at CATO again as long as they have that rude and unfriendly staff at the store on College Road.

I placed an order online with Cato in January and was advised to wait 2 weeks for my order. It has been over 30 days and I still don't have my order. Customer Service recommended that I contact the store. The store says it was shipped on January 13th but they don't know what happened to the order. Have we not heard of tracking orders and simple research? I had to go back to Customer Service and tell them to resend or refund. It has been over a week and still no refund. I am done with Cato at this point. Online orders used to arrive in one week. Now with the pandemic it was 2 weeks. In my case, it is never.

As an employee they do not appreciate us any more than the customers. The pay is barely above minimum wage, they want you to accomplish unimaginable feats of work in one day or less. They are more concerned about us stealing than others. They do not follow their own guidelines. This to name just a few. Agree, the clothes are not of good quality. Made in Bangladesh.

Placed an order on line, when order arrived, it was sized wrong. took it to the store to get a refund, and was told they could not refund it because i paid for it thru paypal. I called corporate and was told to ship it back and I would have to pay the shipping costs. I paid to have it shipped to me. I should not have to pay to return an item was was incorrect to start with. I was told they would pay shipping cost to return it, but they kept double what the shipping cost was out of my refund. after contacting them, the rep was very rude and when asked to speak with a supervisor, got voice mail and no one has returned my call. I do not need Cato nor the hassle that goes with their sorry customer service. No more shopping from this store.

The Cato on Laurens Road, Greenville, SC has the worst customer service and the worst manners. They obviously do not realize that if there are no customers then they would not have a job. I will never shop Cato again. There are too many other retail stores that will be happy to accept my business. There is absolutely no reason to verbally mistreat customers.

I TOOK A BLOUSE/SHIRT BACK 3 DAYS AGO0 AND THEY HAVE YET TO PUT MY MONEY ON MY VISA!! I AM FURIOUS AT STORE DISTRICT MANAGER ASHLEY AND MANAGER BERNECIA. THE STORE ASSOCIATE TRIED TO HELP. ASHLEY SAID CALL .MY BANK I DID THERE ID NOTHING SAYING transaction pending and my bank says they STOLE THE $21.39 DUE TO ITD HAVE BEEN IMMEDIATELY PUT ON CARD. I RETURNED TO THE STORE BERNECIA REFUSED RO GV ME ASHLEY (DUS. MANAGER) HER NAME. ASHLEY CALLS AND SAY S SHE CANT DO ANY THING . THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS. I WORKED RETAIL MANAGEMENT F0OR YEARS AND IM DISGUSTED . THEY SHOULD REPRIMAND BOTH DISTRICT AND STORE MANAGER AASAP!!@ 2MORO I GO OVER ASHLEY'S HEAD TO HER BOSS.

I was in Osage Beach down in Missouri bought a pair of shoes. I wore them for maybe three hours they hurt my feet I had to change back into my regular tennis shoes. I got them on clearance. Brought them back to Quincy Illinois to return them because they left blisters on my heels and their policy is you can’t return it so be warned if you wear something and it doesn’t fit right leave the tags on until you’re done with wearing it and then if you don’t like it return it. so I wasted 18 bucks for a pair of shoes I can’t wear and now I need to just throw them away or give them to somebody that will wear them. I will not shop there again.

We used to love catos in Harrisonville MO. It is now under new management and I think I just made my last trip in. Previously you were greeted when you entered and offered assistance. My mom had to ask for help and then she was told she hadn't seen a certain pair of jeans, she was told they never had then and the woman was snotty. I picked up a shirt to look at and didn't lay it back down right, she huffed and puffed I like I had destroyed the display. We used to go in at least once a week, won't be doing that again. Very sad.

I recently wrote a review about the Cato Prattville AL store noting how I often encountered the workers treating me like I wanted to steal. As a result, I hadn't been in that store in years. I bragged on the Montgomery, AL Ann Street store that I didn't feel uncomfortable there. At least not until today. I just left there and from the moment I walked in the Staff started searching the racks around me. Again, I felt that uncomfortableness. I am a hardworking IT Professional who wouldn't steal a hot dog. I'm starting to think that the Cata stores train their employees to behave in such away. I shop online and at the stores and even though I still like the clothes I need to leave Cata alone for a while. Probably a long while.

The customer service was really bad in the store and online. My purchase was lost in the mail for weeks. I had to call numerous times to track down my order and they barely apologized for their mistake or the delay. They offered me only a $10.00 gift card.

I returned 5 items all in the same box and only received a refund for one item. When I reached out, I was told I had to take it up with UPS. What a joke

The clothing is not as good as it used to be. Took some things back for trade or money back. The store manager wasn't very nice at all concerned about the amount i paid for 2 items that cost 56.00 but they only put 37.00 on the card.it was wrong .the card i used was mine and not the one on the gift card. Told me that it would go on that card and i couldn't get the receipt back cause of something. I couldn't understand why she was upset then i realized oh i forgot I am Black. No patients with me . i was in clayton .n.c. Sales person #100 I am informing my friends and family not to shop there anymore.I hope that this store doesn't treat anyone else like this and it's not good to not pay people there correct money back. Will also post this on Facebook. Not to shop there. Oh one of your people i asked for help said she didn't work there then i wondered why she was at the cash register???? I am stating a fact.i want be shopping there anymore. Get nicer people and add some color to your store...

I shop at the Catos located in Slidell, Louisiana. I love the fashions, and most of the kind and helpful staff there. I don't really like shopping but that 1 visit had me hooked! Matter of fact, I have all the ladies in my government office, shopping there. I recently ordered quite a few items online. I had purchased several pairs of boots & other things that I couldn't in the store, in that order. One pair of boots I ordered were identical to I pair I had already. I didn't realize I had done so. After work, I carried the boots to the store to exchange them. I didn't want a refund...just an exchange. The woman that worked there had waited on me once before. I remembered her because she was very talkative. She pulled up my information and confirmed that I did pick up my order 2 days prior. She wasn't very kind. She requested my invoice. I had made it very clear that when I opened my box at home, there wasn't an invoice in the box. I know that I paid $13.99 for the boots. But she was very stern that since I didn't have my invoice, she would only give me $7.99 towards my exchange, and I would have to pay the difference. She wasn't nice about it either. I'd Ike to continue shopping there, and ordering from your online services. But if I do, I don't want to run into this problem again. It was just how she handled the situation, that showed no professionalism or kindness! The boots never left the box they arrived in until I got to the store for the exchange. I didn't deserve that kind of treatment. She made me feel less than or if I had stolen them. Before I shared this experience with my coworkers, I wanted to see if there was anything you could do to correct this situation. #ItsAboutThePrinciple

The employees at the High Point location is horrible!!!! There are two mangers or one might be a assistant manager. The one with the longer hair is horrific of a human! It’s worth your drive if you can go to the Thomasville location. All employees are professional and very helpful. When I contact corporate they shrugged it off!

AGGRESSIVE & RUDE EMPLOYEES! Went to the Angleton, TX store. After looking for about 10 minutes, 3/4’s of the way up to the front of the store, I was approached by an employee asking if I had a mask. I told her I was medically exempt & she just turned & walked away back to the register. She then started whispering to her coworker. I was looking at a Small light weight sweater & proceeded to put my left arm through to see if it would be too tight thinking I may need a Medium. (The dressing rooms are still closed at Cato stores) The same girl approached me in an aggressive manner & told me I could be trying on clothes in the store, As to which, I replied I wasn’t trying it on, I only put the sleeve on up to my elbow to make sure it wasn’t too tight. I decided then to stop looking & check out because I don’t want to shop anywhere with rude-aggressive employees. There was another lady shopping without a mask & I never heard her approach her about not having one. There is no difference in me putting that sleeve up to my elbow & touching every piece of clothing that I touched while sifting throughout the racks of clothing.

I purchased a wallet. The price of the wallet was $7.99. When I got to the check out counter. The clerk changed the price by scratching the $7.99 out and writing $8.99. No explanation of why.

I was told to wear a shape shifter love the dress but the belt did not fit the dress refused to put a nother belt on the dress dressbelt was on the wrong dress
