“What a disgrace I order my oil 10 days ago and they have come back to say can't deliver tank not in good state. I have had them before they know I have a new tank. They have now said I have to wait until 13th March I can't use my heating as it's gone to low. I am so angry that I have to wait that long I might have to name and shame them. Very very very angry.”
“Has Certas gone bust?? I telephoned for a quote twice on 3rd September 2024. Hung on for 15 mins both times. Recorded message says there is a facility for a call back from them & not lose place in queue. It doesn't then tell you how to use the facility. it is therefore non functioning. I sent an email on 3rd September via Certas website, No response.
Today, 4th September, same. No reply to telephone & recorded message telling me to hang on.
Apparently owned by a company based in Dublin.
Something very strange going on”
“I have always thought Certas was excellent in every way until Friday. My boiler broke and I rang at 9am to ask for a quote for a new boiler. Held on till 9.34 hearing the music & 'your call is important to us' then pressed 1 for Certas to get back to me; at 10.05 they did but something went wrong and the operator had to consult her supervisor, but said she would get back to me. At 11.35 I re-rang, once again listening to the music and hearing all the things Certas can give you. At 11.57 I once again pressed 1. At 2.30pm they got back to me saying the engineer would contact me direct. I asked if it would be on Friday and was told Yes. At 6pm - nothing. One bad experience, but one that caused me to wonder whether I wanted the Certas engineers to quote me for a new boiler or should I go elsewhere.”
“I usually order through Homefuels Direct and have had no problems until my last delivery. The Certas driver reversed into my drive got out of the vehicle looked at my oil tank which is up a small hill and drove off again. The oil was delivered a couple of days later but I was out so I don’t know from which company. I then get a voicemail from Certas saying there is a risk of the driver slipping so I have to install steps if I want any more oil. There has been a tank in that location for over 60 years and this has never happened before.
Hopefully other drivers are less risk averse”
“Lead times are horrendous, plus sometimes difficult to get through to someone on the phone. Close to running out of oil because of waiting ages for a delivery and they say nothing they can do about it, they'll happily let you run out of oil. Also they claim they can't contact their own depot to check on ETA. Terrible service.”
“We have 3-4 deliveries of domestic oil per year. Checked the price they charged for my last one....Over £90 more for a single delivery more than rivals !! Informed them that if they refunded the difference and price matched I would stay with them. I was promised a call back to discus the matter. It never came despite me calling another two times. A £30 refund appeared in my bank. I have left them. PLEASE...PLEASE....do the sensible thing. A simple price per unit comparison check will save you £100s per year.”
