About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“We love our new Chilton furniture. We bought the drop leaf kitchen table in cherry and two Black Boston chairs for our new condo in Wells. We are awaiting our Bass dining table which will be in in March delayed due to Covid. Cape Neddick chairs suggested by Zack Brunach are beautiful. Wanda who coordinated shipping is very attentive and lovely. We have also bought the Bass Harbor coffee table and end tables for our living room. Love the the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship.”

“LOVE my new bed. Finally got a solid wood, highest quality bed!:) Went to the store - sales clerk was fantastic. Delivery guys were awesome. All around a great experience - can't wait to buy the matching dresser!”

“We are so happy that we bought our new dining room table and buffet table at Chilton’s. It’s beautiful and so well made. Zac and Wanda were great. Due to the pandemic, it wasn’t easy arranging deliveries during this time. They were so pleasant and nice to talk to and were able to get us our furniture for Christmas! Thank You so much. “The cherry wood table and two tone chairs we received from Chilton's are just perfect for the dinning area of our kitchen. The fit and finish is absolutely stunning. Don't know why we waited so long to order it. Should have done it years ago. Thanks so much for a great set and terrific service.”

“Our stools were not in stock so has to be shipped. We were not notified when they arrived until I called to check. A couple of weeks later someone called to see if we had picked them up. We had, 2 weeks earlier. Someone needs to follow through with orders.”

“Chilton furniture is a wonderful company consisting of craftsman, sales and special orders, shipping and back office folks. Everything from my initial order with Eleanor to my delivery coordinated by Wanda was beyond first rate. Their customer service, shipping and white glove service are just amazing. All visitors to my home have gushed how beautiful my table and chairs look and feel. They are works of beauty you can sit on and share a meal with friends.”

“Very nice furniture overall but doors on buffet needed considerable adjustment and one door appears a little warped. Doors could be a little tighter. Most recent bookcase also good but shelves do not fit as tightly as I believe they should although the books keep them level and in place.”

“Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Due to the COVID pandemic production was delayed somewhat, and when there was an issue with my order I was contacted and received AMAZING customer service to solve a problem. The delivery team was great, and I could not be more pleased with the quality of this beautiful furniture.”

“I ordered my piece online and received very courteous and professional delivery. The driver told me I would receive a questionnaire about my experience but I did not. My Campbell Sideboard is generally well made and beautiful to look at, but over the months I've noticed annoying flaws, such as 1. chip-out on the top of 4 drawer sides caused by the dovetail jig, 2. a drawer protruding out on one side, so not flush with the face, and 3. another drawer swelling and sticking during the warmer months. If I'd built this piece myself I would not have let it out of the shop. In future, I would want to see the piece in person before buying.”

“From start to finish it was impeccable. The showroom staff we helpful, informative and personable. They made certain that I understood the delivery timeline, made to order furniture takes time, and kept me informed throughout the wait period. The delivery personnel were also wonderful and I appreciated the strict adherence to Covid protocols. I have purchased a number of items from Chilton and have always been extremely pleased. Looking forward to my next piece of furniture.”
