About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“Bob and Adam did an excellent job caring for our house during the delivery and setup. Bob gave us excellent information on the care and upkeep of the furniture. We placed the order in late September and were informed that we could expect delivery in January. The delivery occurred on November 28th.”

“Beautiful bookcases and great delivery. The pieces were finished well ahead of the estimates and delivery to the west coast was within about a week. That delivery went very well with several messages concerning the exact time of arrival. Piotr's delivery up a flight of stairs was friendly and professional. The pieces are beautiful and in perfect condition.”

We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your tables. As per our correspondence with you, we do have a standard allowance for natural characteristics in wood which we celebrate. We also acknowledged that sometimes pieces fall outside of that standard variance and offered to exchange them for you. “I wanted a piece of furniture that was made in Maine by a Maine craftsperson. I was very happy with all aspects of the purchase. I love my new Shaker style linen press cupboard. Chilton was a great company to work with. No pressure and fancy sales talk. The cupboard is just what I had been looking for.”

“We are thrilled with our purchases. The furniture is as beautiful as it is well made. We couldn't have asked for better delivery. They arrived early (called first), were very respectful of our home, and were extremely polite. They suggested putting furniture pads on the bureau legs before moving it into position, which was very helpful.”

“Chilton showrooms are a place of joy. To view the craftsmanship is amazing To buy Chilton furniture is incredible because you get to enjoy the craftsmanship all day, every day.
