Had the Chicken Alexander for our Christmas lunch and thought it was absolutely beautiful. Really tasty and tender chicken

We purchased the Christmas dinner for two. So disappointed. The turkey was acceptable. The carrots and parsnips were rock hard even after extra cooking. The sprouts and leeks were a total mush. The pigs in blankets just fell apart (the bacon used was so fatty). Unfortunately we chose the spinach and horseradish stack as a starter. Just full of stringy spinach. We will not be shopping there again.

I have been a frequent purchaser from Cook, in Hale Altrincham many many times, over several years; I was always very very satisfied. However, in 2022, I bought over £150 of canapés, and a full Christmas dinner for 6 people with extra dishes. The dinner was good; The canapés were so small that I was actually uncomfortable serving them to my guests; I did advise Cook, Hale of this, and they said they would note and report to the HO. They also graciously Offered me compensation. . I continued to shop there, following the ‘canapé disappointment’, and have purchased numerous items of meals for 8, 2,4. 2, 1, party deserts, Pate, all sorts; embracing the idea of ease and the fact that cook is ‘home made’ without additives. However, for Christmas 2024, I purchased several meal items, etc and different products to serve 4 people. Sadly, I have been Disappointed with three fishes I have eaten do far - I still have more items in my freezer. - the steak and red wine pie, was sadly lacking in meat and filling, and the meat seemed of poor quality, and was not tender. The filling overall, was inadequate for 4 people. - the chicken and leek pie, fared a little better. But again, the meat was not of good quality, and the pie was again, Inadequate for 4. - the new lobster thermadore starters were again Inadequate with minimal filling, albeit the taste was very nice. I really hope that Cook, will look to address these issues. It will be disappointing, if corners are cut. I would rather that Cook increased their prices sensibly, if needs be, rather than reduce quality and quantity. I hope the many other items currently in my freezer are less disappointing. I went into Cook in Berkhampstead on Fri 12th Dec 24 only to be told when I went to pay for my items you don't accept cash . I won't be coming back, as we should have a choice .Lots of people still prefer to use cash !

Just had Moroccan chick harissa dish and couscous . Last time I had this was about 3 years ago when it was delicious . Today I am very disappointed. Watery, with no ‘body’. Won’t be getting it again.

Used to love these but quality has definitely gone down, just had chicken dijon the meat was tough and the sauce had a sour taste. I've also found the same with the beef products having horrible chewy meat.

As a new mum I finally tried a range of dishes when I didn’t have any time to cook and thought this would be my absolute saviour over the next few months. After being disappointed with the first few I gave it another go and bought a selection of different meals to try - I have to say I can’t believe how bad I found it. It’s incredibly pricey and most of my dishes were half empty and filled…supposed to serve two and we both were left hungry and having to cook a meal after quite a few of them! On top of that as a bit of a foodie I’d describe most of the dishes as terrible flavour wise and full of fat and salt to get that cheat hit of ‘yummy’ without any actual skill or flavour having to be involved. Can’t understand what the hype is about…I’ll save by money for most supermarket oven meals…I honestly think they are better valid, flavour and healthier!

£25 for monkfish wrapped in pancetta. I have bought many dishes from Cook - all of which have been 'cook from frozen' or 'microwave and so invited friends round for dinner, thinking the meal would be cooked from frozen only to find that the fish had to be defrosted for 36 hrs. Yes, maybe I should have read the instructions but as their slogan is 'cook from frozen' I assumed this would have also refered to the fish!!! Anyhow, cooked the meal the following evening - fish was tasteless!!! Pancetta was tasteless!!! If it wasn't for the sauce which my son had made, I would have thrown the fish into the bin - how sad as I have enjoyed do many other meals from cook!

I bought Cook believing they didn't use additives. Mac cheese ham and cauliflower has dextrose, diphosphate, sodium ascorbate, sodium nitrite, and stabiliser (xantham gum). Disgusted that they claim not to be ultra processed.

No cash ? ! ! Dovehouse Parade has i would estimate a row of 30 retail outlets selling designer clothes to artisan bakery's . All accept cash ! I went in last week to buy a Cake for a bday ,i tried online to click and collect but the only slot was the next day ? Why its never busy , i decided to drive and pick it up but when i came to pay the lady said no Cash ? And the card i tried to buy online withs Pin i had forgotten . Ridiculous ,i had to go back home and my wife went to pay on her card. Gets even odder , she literally went up 10 minutes after i was there and the lady was rude and denied i had been in the shop ? Cake was ok, i won't use cook again purely on principal of no Cash . Bad business guys .

I'm happy because of the supreme quality of your product, PLUS the service I get from my local Cook Food shop at Malvern, namely the young lady Amelia. This talented assistant is outstanding with her personality and professionalism. She has a great future in public relations!

Best ready to cook meals on the market. Your new recipe Salmon and Asparagus Gratin is a winner in every way. It made an excellent meal yesterday evening and I,m off to buy another one today for this old fella! Your meals even beat that Bigham fellow!

My partner got me the chocolate brownie cheesecake for my birthday. It was very disappointing that it all crumbled when we cut it up. The base was an inch thick. We felt like eating a giant cookie instead of cheesecake.

Purchased Gluten Free Thai Chicken curries twice on different weeks and suffered stomach upsets on both separate occasions. Have contacted Cooks Customer Service and registered it. Have eaten the same curries some months ago and no issues. Not feeling confident of trying again after the recent experience!
