“Had fish pie tonight our first time buying with Cook disappointing and tasteless”

“repulsive company as a former employee I hugely recommend avoiding these meals. they put no care or effort into the production of these meals. I have seen some very questionable hygiene practices and ingredients and despite being insanely overpriced they keep employees at trainees month after month to pay them less than min wage. this is the third time of posting this review as cook keep trying to get ot taken down (says all you need to know). bullying of staff is rife. toxic man hating female run environment where abuse and bullying is rife”

“DO NOT BUY ‘COOK FROZEN FOOD’. It should stay forever frozen. I have always seen these in their own separate fridges and thought, they must be really good. The packaging too I thought was very well done and enticing. God, was I wrong. The salmon and asparagus gratin was absolutely awful. The fish smelled and tasted off. My wife didn’t even bother eating anything else after one spoonful. The cottage pie, tasted like cardboard and bland as hell. Was even real beef? I should have looked at all the reviews on here before buying any of the dishes. I should have taken notice of the only people buying it were old people. I guess your taste buds disappear when you’re past 70. Someone should close this company down because, the food is truly disappointing and horrendous. Never again!”

“Hi. Well first purchase of chicken curry and flavour good but, chicken was suspicious very chewy. Will not be buying any more unless I hear from you.”

“Awful service and I’ve not even managed to buy anything yet. Tried a few weeks ago to purchase items. Couldn’t get the site to accept my debit card. Checked with my bank it my card was fine, bank could see attempts were made to take payment but, your site, not my card or the bank was the issue. Called your customer service number and they couldn’t make it work either. Decided to try to reorder my items this morning and I can’t get through checkout as the only times I’m being offered for delivery are long after I need the items because some of them need to be removed from my basket. I’ve no clue as to which items you’re referring to so, the only option would be to remove everything, re add what I want and see if the delivery dates offered are any earlier. And all that is before we get back to the point where I attempt to pay again and potentially have the same problems as last time. I’d wish you luck but, from my experience and the reviews of others, don’t think you deserve it.”

“So disappointed. It always looks so nice and bought my first one today for this evening's meal as out and about. Chicken in soy sauce with ginger. A handful of small cubed chicken pieces, not even a whole chicken breast, no where near enough for two, the strips of ginger and kale were tough and inedible. The sauce was tasty and thank goodness I did extra veg to soak it up! Will not buy again.”

“Lasagne al forno. Tasty of plastic. Always been good previously. Complained to Cook last month when we had a sub standard meatballs. Tgey insisted nothing had changed. Doubting that now.”

“I have enjoyed several Cook froducts but the Duck Confit I bought yesterday was dire. The sauce was too sweet (and had no trace of the much-needed acidity), the duck meat itself was good but came with a great thick layer of fatty, flabby skin. Because this had been cooked in a sauce it was NEVER going to be crisp and should have been removed from the dish beforehand. It also meant , that when I'd removed it, the apparent amount of actual meat in the dish was much less than it looked. Very disappointing and the dish needs urgent improvement”

“Lamb Moussaka(serves 1) was so disappointing - mostly potato and two very small slices of aubergine with very little flavour. I usually find Cook meals excellent but this was awful and I could only eat half and put the remainder in the bin.”

“Spent a small fortune on Canapes for Christmas 2022. very disappointed apart from sausage rolls which were ok but have had better from M&S. The canapes that had pastry such as pinwheel spinach and pesto ,thai chicken. The fillings cooked and almost burned before the pastry browned so looked raw. Most all were not worth the price. I have purchased many food items from them but will not be going back. They have cut corners but still prices are high.”

“We had butter chicken curry. Would have been better with a stir in jar sauce. What little chicken there was was tough and dry the sauce was absolutely full of undercooked chunks of onion. Butter curry is usually smooth. It had no discernable flavour to make it butter chicken over any other generic orange coloured curry. Really disappointed- we got these for new years eve as a treat. Won't be buying from this company again. Over priced and under-deliverd.”

“I have enjoyed most dishes from Cook for a few years. This week tried your orange and apricot tarte dessert- it was dreadful, so dry and no flavour at all. very disappointed to have to throw most of it away. What went wrong? I did buy this item from a stockist, not a Cook shop so praps that the answer ?”

“Lamb Moussaka. Possibly the worst pre-prepared meal I've ever tasted. The Aubergine was the only flavour I could distinguish. Really disappointed. Certainly won't buy that again.”

“I think they call it Grand Fish Pie, anyway a big fish pie to serve 8. There were 6 of us and we had a reasonable, certainly not large, portion each. It was nice, but not as good as I’d have made myself. And £36! I did expect something more special and certainly larger portions.”
