I’ve have bought 5 vehicles from copart all for personal use as a basic free member and I enjoyed the process in the beginning and didn’t mind adding deposits to bid. but now they charge so much money in fees on won lots it’s crazy. It keeps going up and up. Now they want to charge $59 for a membership that used to be free. I’m done with copart. It was fun while it lasted. I will NOT pay for a membership you just lost a customer

Bought a car advertised as minor dents/scratches and normal wear as damage and runs and drives. Even when they agree to refund they continually lie. That's almost a month now I'm without the funds.

Not even sure where to start. We have been buying as premium buyers from Copart for years. After they put their COVID precautions into practice, you could no longer drive your vehicle out, it has to be forked. We bought two trucks and several SUVS from Dallas/Houston Texas. The 2016 truck that we bought, dented driveshaft due to inexperienced forklift operator. Second truck, broken brake line due to forklift operator. To make matters worse, a 2018 truck that we bought had a very high dollar drop down hitch in the pictures, when we went to pick the truck up, it was gone. Along with the floor mats, books and extra keys to many of the trucks we buy. When you draw this to Coparts attention, they will not own up to their actions. I HIGHLY recommend you just buy from IAAI. I have had far better success with them than Copart, because I don't seem to have these issues when buying from IAAI instead. I have written emails and called until I am blue in the face with Copart and seem to get nowhere. They did send me a replacement key to one of our truck recently but that is as good as it gets. Very dishonest, will cause your hair to turn grey a lot faster.

Don't purchase anything big. They will not load it for you Ever! Buyers fee of 15% plus $89 internet fee, plus gate fee of $59. Storage starts on the 3rd day. 1st day starts the minute you pay for it. Oh btw, you also get charged for Saturday and Sunday even though they're not open for pick up ! I've been dealing with Copart's all over the nation and more times then not they will not assist you.

I bought a salvage car from Copart and my God, it was such a terrible experience! The workers at Rankin Road, Houston Texas, were rude, arrogant - you name it - when I went to pay for the vehicle. A gentleman that came all the way from Austin, Texas (about 3 hours plus of drive time) was not allowed to pick up his vehicle because he came 15 minutes before 5pm - their hallowed closing time! I had called to make sure I had the correct amount covered in my money orders before driving to their business premises because I was warned they are very callous and unpredictable when it comes to money matters. The lady that answered the phone assured me I had the correct amount in my money order (according to what she saw in their system). After driving to Copart’s business premises for almost an hour, a $5 dollar late fee just showed up in their system out of the blues! And I either had to pay this amount or go back without any transaction! Can you imagine! But the amount is not even the problem. I had to give them the exact $5 bill, and I only had $100 bills on me. And without that $5 payment, the insolent staff made it very clear I would have to drive back ( another almost an hour of drive time) without accomplishing anything! And it was getting close to 5pm, at which time they will not deal with me again! If I should drive out to a convenient store to break up a $100 bill to give them their so-called $5 late fee, I knew I couldn’t make it back before 5 pm... If not for a kind customer that helped me with five $20 notes change, my almost one hour of drive time to Copart’s office would’ve been a wasted effort! In the end, I had to give them a $20 bill because I didn’t have $5 on me, and I didn’t want all my efforts to be in vain! Whoever owes Copart must be very callous! I belief the staff members are rude, arrogant, insolent, apathetic and condescending to Copart buyers because it’s allowed from the top! If you don’t want to have high blood pressure, keep away from Copart! It’s nothing but a big scam!

I register online through the Copart app due to Covid, in order to pay for my vehicle and take it home. Drive to Copart to pick up my car, I registered online at the Copart Kisok at about 2;15pm. I receive a text after waiting in the parking lot for close to 2 hours, only to be told that I didn't register before 2 pm, therefore they could not give me my car. It is just excuse after excuse followed by "Sorry, but we cannot help you today, you need to come back tomorrow". If I treated customers as poorly as the Copart staff, I would not have a job. This is the first and last time I buy anything from this pathetic excuse of a company.

They picked up the car from the body shop (car was a total loss by insurance company)and i gave them the necessary paperwork and signed over the title. The paperwork said that my check for the car would be deposited within 48hrs to my bank. Here we are 22 days later and i still have no check or the car. I told them to just bring the car back....they had already sold it!!!!! I had to threaten to report the car stolen and i went to the dmv to get a duplicate title and report it. They immediately emailed me and "promised" to send the check within 48hrs.

This company is nothing but thieves. I purchased a 2015 jaguar xj from their tx cohort. Believing them when they say "runs and drives" I had it shipped to NJ, the car would start and immediately shut off i thought it was an easy fix. Turns our the timing belt slipped and destroyed several pistons. when talking these thieves they would not take back the vehicle insisting I should have came to the lot and inspected at time of removal. Their only solutions was for me to relist the vehicle with them and have them take massive fees. I had to replace the whole engine costing me around 8k and that's with me actually (yes i know this is a luxury foreign vehicle) having to find someone who would touch Jaguars and finding a reasonably priced engine which IS NOT EASY for this vehicle. for a vehicle that I "won" for 10k (quotes cause their bidding system is suspect) I ended up spending over 20k. Will never do business with these thieves again. I am a person doesn't really leave negative reviews but at this price point and shady business practice it had to be done.

to begin with the fees are far too high. one should not have to pay $1240.00 for a lot won at $600.00!! Further, I have found that when you "win" an auction, you do not truly "win" the auction. it only starts a whole bid, counterbid, game with the seller. Sure, If you pay for the "premium" membership it allows you to bid higher, however, your still only able to "win" 5 lots. but you never really "win" these lots, the seller then has 3 days to remove the item off of your "winning bids" before you can start bidding again. I only found this out after winning 5 in a row (all the while knowing the seller would never agree to sell) to have another lot come up that I was interested in but could not bid as I already had won 5 lots!! Very frustrating. Copart is probably great if your a seller. you can get a guaranteed offer that you can counterbid and/or sit on and think about for 3 days while you shop it around to other buyers in the private sector, when someone offers more you just reject the bid and pull it off the auction. if you can't find a better offer then you can take the high bidder, or put it on again for the next auction. meanwhile the high bidder (whos is bound to their bid) is being held hostage on the page and not allowed to bid on anything else until the seller decides what they want do. again they have three days. if your a business looking for inventory, stay away from this auction. or only go with the lots that are "pure sale" those are the only lots that you actually win on the hammer! like an auction is supposed to be! Not this high priced Facebook marketplace that Copart is running. At least FB maketplace you have contact with the seller, you can ask questions, you can road test, you can decide in three days. an auction is a gamble, you have 60 seconds to decide, then when you win, its more like "well we'll see about that, maybe not"

Their vehicles are often misrepresented and hide damages, are sold as running when they do not run, and their dealer fees are high with additional charges for EVERY possible thing including gate fee, bid fee, payment fee, storage fee, etc. DO NOT USE COPART.

This was not my first vehicle purchase at Copart but IT WILL be my last. My last purchase was labelled as a Run and Drive, needless to say, like SO many others after paying for it(with ALL of the ridiculous fees that drove a $400 car up to $658) and then having it brought out from behind the gates one glance and I figured that there no way that this was going to be a Run/Drive but I was going to try it anyway, 1st battery was dead, nothing new there, I brought one with me ... tried to start it and no start but did turn over barely ... the starter was arcing so bad that it was welding itself together, at this point I went back into the office to try and return vehicle as it was not a Run/Drive in my opinion, again like so many others I was told that there was nothing they could or would to help me out even tho I said that I didnt want the money back, that I was willing to leave the money in my account in order to buy something else Nope nothing worked and I get it Copart has created every kind/level of Disclaimer that allows them to not take any kind of responsibility for any wrong that Copart might have done, it is up to us the buyer to go and look at the car before the auction unluckily that is not as easy as it sounds for many people due to distance/time/Covid etc. there was a time that if I wanted to go and look at some vehicles I could go to Copart, get the keys to 3 different cars, go out into the yard with my code reader/jump box and check the cars out completely all in about one hour of my time ... fast foward to today and now you are only allowed to see one car at a time with no code reader or jump box and you are escorted by a Copart employee to the car and back, IF you want to then look at another vehicle you must go to the end of the line of all the other people wanting to preview vehicles and wait your turn ...turning what used to be a 1hr mission into a 4 hour mission with really no knowledge of what may be wrong with it ..... Coparts disclaimers opens the door for Copart to lie, cheat, mis-label cars and boy howdy evidently they are running amuck doing just that and altho I have been treated fairly and with respect at the North Portland Location I can not say the same for South Portland In the end after spending $100 to tow the vehicle to my home I have replaced the starter, fuel pump relay, battery, did a compression check and still does not start So there is NO WAY that Copart ever checked to see if this car was a Run/Drive when it was brought in to sell ....NO WAY and yet it was listed as a Run/Drive with no other description other then Front End damage .......

Absolutely terrible!!! company to work with. They are nice enough on the phone but completely unreliable. They called me on a Friday and scheduled a car pickup at their next available day on the following Tuesday. The window they gave was 8-5, pretty large window for someone to sit and wait for them. They said they typically pick up cars in our area by noon. I called at 2:30, the dispatcher said they are scheduling any more cars, I let her know it had been scheduled since the previous Friday, she said oh, ok I see it let me see where they are on it. I waited on hold for 30 minutes, she never came back. I called back after 5:00 pm, the car was still sitting there. They said they couldn't pick it up, and couldn't give me a time when they would be able to. They said they are severely understaffed and can't find any drivers or support staff and are having a terrible time. This car is being picked up for an insurance claim, and they were hired by the insurance carrier - I will definitely let them know my experience. Notice that they didn't call me to tell me they couldn't pick up the car, they just didn't show. I still haven't heard a word from them, the car is still sitting there, completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Please stay away from this company, they are terrible. i have bought my first car from them. In description it was saying the car is category N repairable but the car arrived with mechanical problems, the gearbox which costs nearly £3000 to repair it where I have paid £1300 for the car with transport. I have also paid them to transport the car, the car wasn't starting at all, the car who brought it in could not even take it down the towing van, apparently the car was forklifted. I have complained to them but they have said that everything was written down in the description, total liars. Don't ever buy from this company they are a disgrace ... I am stuck with this car for more than 3 months now , nobody wants to buy this a wrack , I really have no idea what to do with it if anyone have any idea I would appreciate any advice. I can't believe how many people have been scammed by them, I wish I would've read this reviews before

NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WORKED TOGETHER TO COVER UP A CRIME!!!! Copart had an independent tow truck driver get my wrecked car to their lot. All of my personal belongings including my work ID, license plate, snow scraper, blanket, air fresheners, 15 pound weight, the list goes on.. everything was “thrown away” as they said. This however was not what they had said at first. They at first said that my car arrived to their lot without any of my items or the license plate. Now, at this point it seems like they are covering up a crime. THEFT!! Do not associate with this company in West Mifflin, PA! Not trustworthy what so ever. Was never able to keep their story straight either!!

Picked up my car for an estimate to repair for hitting a deer. They priced a 60 part at 476 so they could total my car. Now they refuse to let me have my car that is in their possession with my name still on the title. The shocking part is the car was inspected virtually!

Stay away!!!! Avoid Copart! A bunch of scammers stating that the car is classified as run and drive, minor scratches only, and then you receive cars with a timing chain fault, which costs a fortune!!!! I took a loan to buy 2 cars and received scrap cars with broken engines and some other major faults! They are winding people up and should be closed! Totally illegal and disappointing!
