I'm sorry to say that I can no longer in good faith recommend anyone purchase jewelry via CustomMade - something has drastically changed, ?new personnel, without apparently as much training or passion or interest in the job at hand or desire to provide exemplary or even just okay customer service. I'd previously purchased 2 rings and had an absolutely fantastic experience, the rings were unique and there was a lot of care taken by and interest from folks like Czarina and Rosebud. More recently, with my 3rd ring, I've run into problems. In the past, missives to and from staff were extremely timely and re-sizing plans made with ease with appropriate UPS mailing labels provided without any issue. Please find below my last email to CustomMade staff - I received a reply stating that it would be escalated to someone and I would hear back by Tuesday (i.e.., today - I have received no response and don't feel certain that I will, which is very disappointing/baffled based on the stellar past experiences I had). "So I just tried again at another UPS store- was told same thing:/ they said the label I have doesn’t cover any packaging in which the ring would be shipped in. I’m afraid I’ve wasted a lot of time now printing and reprinting the mailing label I received and visiting different UPS stores. Am I not able to have the ring re-sized for free like with the other rings I purchased from CustomMade? Very disappointing if so! Was definitely a big reason why I’ve continued to be a customer. - Please feel free to forward this email chain to managing personnel- I just can’t believe how much more difficult and cumbersome the resizing process has been this 3rd time around (again had no difficulty whatsoever the other times), again super disappointing and an utter timewaster. I live in the city and have sat through traffic to try UPS stores in both Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Not sure what else I can do."

Go to a real jeweler -- I mean an actual human being in a store who you can talk to -- and do your business there. This internet flapdoodle is really only for the mind-dead or paraplegic.

My experience with custommade was positive initially. Unfortunately by the end I would have to say I wouldn't recommend the company. Despite being clear I was on a tight budget, and asking about additional shipping costs, I was unexpectedly hit with a c.$300 shipping bill. While the person I spoke to agreed I had not been informed, I was only refunded half of the cost. Furthermore, I was encouraged to select a "rush" option for an additional $150 (I can't remember the exact figure). I refused as it seemed like there was still plenty of time when reading the company's own timelines, and the ring arrived over a month before I needed it. Not being informed of the significant additional charges and unnecessarily being upsold a "rush" option greatly soured my experience.

The worst people to ever deal with, the most terrible set of people! You have to glue details to their brain before they can carry them out. You can imagine with how much cufflinks worth over $10,000 I have ordered from these terrible people they still went ahead to miss producing a whole $2400 worth of cufflinks from my last order, after the long months of waiting, cufflinks arrived uncompleted, this is just a tip of the terrible experiences I've had with this nonsense people!

Customer Service was good. The final product was terrible! They are clearly lying about the metals they use. Despite being apparently made of tarnish-resistant Argentum silver, my ring was tarnishing after two days of use and has left a nasty green rash on my 3 fingers in contact with the ring. They clearly use very low-quality metals. Not satisfied!

Hi Daniel, I'm so sorry to hear about this. We stand behind our work and take full responsibility for making sure you have a great experience. Our staff will reach out to you in your project thread to offer several options to make this right. I can assure you that our tarnish-resistant Argentium Silver alloy is the exact 93.5% Silver alloy we utilize. It is more tarnish-resistant than Sterling Silver (which is 92.5%), but it is not tarnish-proof. A small minority of customers do get this green-skin reaction, which is essentially hyper-oxidization of the copper in the silver alloy. Unfortunately, there is no good way to prevent it if you are susceptible to it... your best bet is to utilize a white gold alloy, which has none of these issues and is a lifetime product. White gold is a far superior jewelry metal and will never tarnish and is inert and non-reactive. However, it is significantly more expensive than silver alloys. We still offer silver as an option because some customers prefer the look and/or the cost savings of a silver alloy. But the only way to eliminate the risk of tarnish or skin reactions is not to use a cast silver alloy, and instead, use a white gold alloy.

Was very specific with requirement, that was not met. I said at the beginning I wanted a substantial ring and was prepared to pay for that. That's not what I got very lite and cheaply made.
