“Didn’t think you could go wrong with such a simple sponge cake but it was too dense to eat and the buttercream was too thick and mostly ended up in the bin. Needless to say, no one had seconds. *Update* I received a full-value voucher following this review and ordered a small pistachio and passionfruit cake and box of vegan cookies. I purposely ordered a cake without any buttercream on the outside and it was a good shout. The sponge was also less dense so overall a pretty good cake. The taste cookies weren't amazing, but I guess for vegan cookies, not bad.”

“I ordered the Valentines Red Velvet cake but was disappointed compared to previous cakes we have had from Cutter & Squidge. It felt drier and less fresh”

“Order was processed very quickly and very happy with the ordering and delivery process. However, gbe cookies themselves were very average for the price. I have bought other mail order coolers which were MUCH nicer. These seemed a bit dry and not flavourful. Disappointed really.”

“Not a great experience attempting to arrange delivery through the website. Nor was it easy to get hold of a human being to help rectify the problem. Of the three cakes I ordered for my event, this one was just as good as the others taste-wise but the higher price and stress means the competition kept me for the next event.”

“Ordered 3 cakes through Cutter and Squidge now - 1 was delicious lemon-drizzle, 1 was gluten-free and not as good as the lemon drizzle but it was OK. Then ordered the cheesecake one and it was incredibly bland to the point that most people didn't even finish it. Had hoped all the cakes would be as good as the first but maybe that one is just a fluke.”

“Well presented, but ultimately underwhelming. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into the design and branding, but ultimately felt the quality of products simply wasn't what one would expect from a luxury brand. None of it was bad per se, but equally none of it felt remotely noteworthy.”

“I have always ordered Cutter and Squidge cakes when I was living in London, freshness and quality were top notch. Their customer service is still amazing, however the ladt cake box Pistachio and passion fruit was not up to the standards I used to love and trust. I came back to London for my husband’s birthday and I wanted to gift him a piece of our memories there with a delicious cake. My husband and my son said it smelled of fish, the taste was ok, but there were not that many pustachios either…. Not memorable.”

“The presentation of the cakes was ok however I was really disappointed with the flavour of the majority of the cakes, they were very bland and not as nice as I was expecting given the price. Also the texture of some of the cakes wasn’t great, particularly the macarons which just fell apart. I also found it frustrating that some items could be delivered to my address but not others. I have used several other postal cake and macaron companies and unfortunately I was very underwhelmed with this one so won’t be using again, particularly given the price.”
