“The cake was inedible, it tasted like a sweetened block of butter, absolutely sickening. The whole thing went in the bin. We had to pause the birthday party and go and get a new cake last minute.”

“Never got to do this. Messed around with vague answers for 2 years about when it might happen. I appreciate that it was covid, but they kept saying it would happen soon and never did. Then once it did open we were never able to book at a suitable time as slots were so limited. Initially told we couldn’t get a refund but finally this was granted. Like the cakes, but the lack of clear answers has really tainted my view of them”

“The cake that was provided was a very tough and dry cake. It literally ruined the experience as no one could eat this tough cake. Why are the cakes so dry? I hadn’t read your reviews until now and realise this seems to be an occurring issue and are you actually addressing the issue or seeking to just continue taking the money? Your team is fine serving inedible cakes? If you can not consistently provide a service and product do stop as it’s extremely disappointing ordering a cake for an occasion and no one enjoys it. Extremely disappointing Based on this experience so would not be ordering again from this company given the utter dryness of the cake, it was tough to even cut through that’s how awful the cake was, so whatever you are doing to preserve these cakes is not working! The cake was a little damaged I presume due to the travel aspects, was squashed in around some of the edges. A pretty cake picture with no substance at all!”

“Email you twice to say I was not happy with the way they was delivered I asked if not in to put in shed YOU DROPPED THEM THOUGH letter box they was all damaged I did not get a response at all”

“I ordered the Squidge Selection for my sister, Joyce Sutherland, for her birthday on 1 October. I live in Australia and she lives in a care home in Hexham, Northumberland UK. I was provided with a photograph of a person leaving the box at the door of the Care Home on 31 September. It was delivered on the day requested. Surely this person could have rung the bell and given it to a carer in the home rather than leave it at a door where anyone could pick it up. As I am not able to be there, and my sister cannot communicate very well, I have no idea if my sister Joyce ever received the goods. I am very disappointed, therefore, that I cannot give a good review because I have no idea if my gift was ever given to Joyce. Marie Ward New South Wales Australia”

“I recently purchased the Vegan Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake, and I must say, it was a rather disappointing experience. The sponge was incredibly dry, and to make matters worse, the frosting was grainy and lacked the creamy texture that one would expect from a cheesecake. Although the cake looked very pretty, overall, I was highly dissatisfied with this cake, and I wouldn't recommend it.”

“First time I ordered a cake and despite reading the negative reviews I decided to go ahead and order the Passionfruit And Pistachio Cake. I was so disappointed, the cake was so dry was not worth the price I paid! I will unfortunately not order any cake in future. 😒”

“I have no words for this service. I placed an order. Clear address for delivery for a birthday gift to a friend. It never made it. I complained and was given gift vouchers to re order which I did. Had delivery confirmed messages but my firmed has still never received her gift. Shockingly bad service. Will not ever use again”

Hi Rhiain, We are so sorry that your gift didn't arrive. We have looked into this order to see why. Unfortunately it seems like the order has been sent back to us and there was an issue within the depot. This is why your friend unfortunately didn't receive their gift from you. We rely on DPD to delivery your product and on this ocassion they clearly missed the mark. We have after the second failed attempted issued a refund. “Placed order for a birthday and it was not delivered, even though order and payment all went through. Day after due to be delivered I chased up to be told there was a technical issue. £5 off my next order!!! There will not be a next order, As there was no indication of a glitch to me then no alterative birthday delivery was arranged! I would not be able to trust their ordering process again!”

“I decided to give Cutter & Squidge a second chance after a previous, very disappointing, dry Red Velvet Cake postal order. This time, opting to try their brownie selection box and their mixed cookie selection box. The brownie selection was ok, but not great. The brownies themselves are _very_ thin, about 1.5 cm tall so slightly thicker than a Jaffa Cake with .3-.5 generally dedicated to some topping like chocolate. Personally what I like and expect in a brownie is a thick bite with a soft center that fills your mouth. Because they're so thin it also causes them to be fairly dry and unsatisfying. The Mixed Cookie Selection was the most disappointing. They are advertised as "thick, chunky and soft" however they arrived (batch number the date before they were delivered) hard as biscuits that could have been made weeks prior. I am certain at this point that Cutter and Squidge's "batch number" labels are not, in fact, the date the items are baked/cooked but the date they are placed in a box for delivery. These cookies were not fresh. The instructions on the box suggest to warm them up in the oven for 5 minutes, which I did with each, however somehow it barely improved their consistency - they always came out stale and cakey rather than a nice mix of crispy and soft. I will say, trying to eat one of these without warming them up is completely unpalatable.”

“I won't be using them again as the delivery driver did not ring the door bell and deliver them in person. They were stuffed in the letter box.”
