My original thought about joining Dom&Gen came about forty something years ago when I was in the Royal Marines. The idea was to give my wife peace of mind while I was away. All theses years later Now that I'm a widower and getting on in years I am still getting the same peace of mind.

I sent a review weeks ago and it just went into the ether. You have repaired my daughter's washing machine numerous times. It's the same old problem somehow clothes get caught between the drum and the frame resulting in clothes getting damaged and blocking occurring. I've got so fed up with it that I've cancelled the policy and bought a new washing machine. A sign of madness is to keep on doing the same thing and expecting a different result. For pete's sake use AI to identify what the cause is and them do something different and replace the machine. I did it in the end as you left me no choice

We have to use D & G because our parts are covered for free for a few years yet. But we pay for the engineer. Bizarrely it was cheaper to take out 6 months insurance, that covers for multiple break downs in that time, then to pay for a one off visit. In our case thatā€™s worked well because the first repair didnā€™t solve the issue. The first time he ā€˜happenedā€™ to have the part on the van. The second time he didnā€™t have the parts, so had to order them and arrange another appointment. But D & G cancelled the second repair appointment 3 times, at short notice, with no explanation. Just a text! There was no way to talk to anyone about rebooking. Just on line and sometimes the text didnā€™t include the booking ref so I couldnā€™t go on line to do anything. It was Extremely stressful and very time wasting. The engineer didnā€™t know anything about it, as the appointments arenā€™t booked by him. Why do they not have parts on the van when youā€™ve told them what machine isn't working? However the engineer is Brilliant and Iā€™d give him 10šŸŒŸ. Heā€™s thorough, professional, friendly, explains what heā€™s doing and why, gets I touch when heā€™ll be delayed.

On the 29th April I rang domestic and general to tell them our oven door seal had broken, I spoke to Brigit. An appointment to repair the oven was booked for 2nd April. The engineer arrived without a door seal and was therefore unable to repair the oven. He ordered a seal and said he will return during next week. This is appalling service from Domestic and General 9

The engineer was on time very polite and knew exactly what the problem was and rectified it straight away he seemed very professional pleased to have the grill on the cooker working again
