“We are pleased with the home. I would suggest on further models of this home that a larger pantry in the kitchen be included, a utility tub in the garage, a three car garage that you can actually fit 3 larger size cars, and a linen closed in the master bedroom. As for the lot, I must say we are totally dissatisfied. When we purchased the property we made it very clear to the sales agent that the lot was a big factor in our offer on the house. At the time of purchase, nothing was indicated to us that there was a so called common area on our lot which comprises more than a third of it. We are not familiar with common areas, but the name in itself indicates an area that is in use for everybody. We don't understand why our lot configuration has so much of a common space. And to date, we have not received a clear and simple response as to why this property can not be deeded to us.”
“My home buying experience was flat out horrible.
The biggest problem was the lack of communication and the consistent difficulties we had in even reaching Eastwood personnel.
Eastwood appeared ill suited for the job as they failed countless inspections again and again. They sited new no experience in building townhomes in my area as the explanation for their lack of expertise, but it simply appeared that they were unprepared and disorganized.
My property sat for a month with no work being done. Getting construction to resume was an act of congress. When major changes were made to my third level I found out when I went by to check on any progress with the property. I was not consulted or advised of this layout change that took gobs of square footage and changed the entire look of the space.
My home was "finished" way past it's due date. And even at my walk through big items like a completely cracked and broken bathroom sink were a part of the list of "to-do's".
Even after moving in things like towel racks, door stoppers, and drawer fixtures were missing in action. I was told a fence for my back yard would be in place the day after I moved in and almost two weeks after my move in I still don't have towel racks, a new bathroom sink/countertop,a fence, or door stoppers to replace those broken prior to move in. My master bathroom door is striped at the latch and I was told 'nothing can be done about it'. My garage door leading into my home does not close properly. All of these things needing to be repaired or replaced and I have not even heard any kind of communication as to when these things will be taken care of.
I love my home but if I had known the building experience would be as horrible as it was, I would have run away from Eastwood as fast as my feet could carry me.”
“Eastwood is number one on customer satisfaction. They will work with you to meet your demand on the timely manner. Also, they will exceed your expectation. Everyone who work at Eastwood is very friendly.”
“I was nervous for my first experience as a homeowner but Mr. Thomas, the builder put my mind at ease. He was very professional, thorough and kind and respectful. I recommend Eastwood to anyone. It was a very pleasant first experience.”
“We are very happy with the house. Good materials, good workmanship, hassle free experience. Jan Barrese and Bob Starke were excellent to work with, very helpful and professional. My only issue is Eastwood's policy on interior paint. I would have gladly paid an additional upfront fee to have the interior painted in our choice of colors. Now I am paying $3000 in labor and materials to have the interior re-painted in our color choice. Having the whole interior painted all white or all tan does not work for us and as I am learning, not for a lot of others. Makes the house look like a rental unit. You should reconsider this.”
“Let's just say that I have no faith in Eastwood's home building quality, service, or any phase of my building process. I love the look and feel of my home, but feel it is extremely lacking in quality for the price I have paid. Every step of the way, I continue to be flabbergasted, exasperated, and dumbfounded by the people I interact with. This is not my first poor review of our bad building process and I tell everyone who asks that I would never build with Eastwood in a million years.”
“Eastwood Homes was ok, but not the best homebuilder that I have dealt with. Here are some of the problems that I have encountered with my home:
1) Pest. I found a live roach crawling on my wall. I thought that it was a brand new construction, it would be pest free, but not.
2) There are no overhead lights in the closets, except in the master bedroom. If someone has to go in the closet, at night, and look for something, they have to turn on the big overhead light, and wake people up.
3) I found that my doors were not evenly hung. They drag on the carpet, when I open and close the door. Contacted the builder about rectifying the problem, and I have not heard a word from him.
4) It is impossible to reach the builder, to ask simple questions about something. I have to go through the seller of the property, to contact the builder. Why can't I talk to him personally?
This is unsatisfactory.”
“Our experience with Eastwood was almost perfect. The only thing we were disappointed with was our yard. We chose a nice, flat lot. After we chose the lot we were informed it would have to be regraded. The regrading left the yard with a slant that goes up from left to right and a large dip on the right end, making one side of the yard pretty unusable. We have had fence installers come out for an estimate and they've all commented about putting up a fence in that area. It will either have to flow with the way the yard is, which would leave the fence sitting pretty low on one end, and leave no privacy from one neighbor, or they can make the fence go straight across, but it would leave large gaps at the bottom that would somehow need to be covered. We expressed our concerns about the yard immediately after the regrading, but no changes were made to level it back to how it looked when we selected the lot. We understand there needs to be proper drainage, but our yard went from a great lot to an eye sore. Drainage could have been accomplished without such a large incline.”
“We have truly enjoyed our Eastwood home. We found this house about 2 weeks prior to completion so we did not go through the full building process. With that said, there is not much we would have changed from the design. The house is great, but we feel the best part of this process was working with Mario and Josh. They have always been quick to respond and true professionals. We could not have asked for a better first home buying experience.”
“We have had nothing but problems since we moved in. It's been over 60 days and items that were promised to be fixed have not been repaired. I will tell everyone I know about our horrible experience.”
“I would be settling in my new home in March 2016. My entire home buying experience with Eastwood homes has been very satisfying. They do a quality job from the start - giving information about the homes and the contract terms , the reasonableness of the house price, the comfort and peace of mind at each stage of home buying process, contract, the construction, the walks through, the quality of workmanship, the courtesy and the attending to of any items by the respective housing specialists is highly appreciated.”
“First home purchase so my frame of reference is slightly limited - but I must say - I was thoroughly impressed with the SERVICE I received. This increased my - experience - AND - my perceived value. Would recommend Eastwood homes to others looking for a great buying experience.”
“I enjoyed working with Eastwood homes. We had a slight delay at one point but with constant communication it didn't cause an issue! Anne Manor my sales agent and Mike my builder were great and I am truly enjoying my home.”
