Been a power seller and ebayer, since first quarter 1998. Ebay started as a great venue, but through the years it changed for the worse. Limiting access of help is their first mistake, second their lack of knowledge of ebay predators, and senseless process to capture of shutdown even when police are involved. They let it continue so they can steal fees, out of greed. Every decade they make it harder and harder to protect and get fees back, until they nickel and dime you with time and fees, then the constant language barrier from their out of country customer service. These people do not care whether some American halfway around the world get service or not. Wake up Ebay

I started selling on ebay to get rid of a milk glass collection. I was scammed by a buyer who would not send pictures of the damaged item I shipped her and they she asked ebay to step in even though I had been on the phone with them multiple times following exactly what they told me to do, but even though they knew that I didn't have what I needed for insurance, they told the buyer to send the shattered glass and unbroken items back in one box. When I called them because I wasn't able to get the insurance since the buyer didn't provide what I needed, and told them they were instructing the buyer to send back shattered glass with the unbroken part of the item, they told me it was not their problem and they would not help me. Fast forward to shipping the item. I changed the address on my account and even have a confirmation email stating that it was changed. They had the buyer ship it back to a past address. When I called them to ask for assistance, they told me that I needed to contact USPS even though I shipped the package to the buyer UPS and work with them to get it. Now I am out the item and the insurance money because eBay would not pay attention to my previous conversations before they sided with the scam buyer and have now taken the money out of my account to reimburse the buyer even though I don't have the package and even though I just spoke with them last night and was told they were extending the time to refund until I could get resolution for the lost package. If you are selling valuable items, do not use an ill reputed company like ebay as you will definitely be screwed by them. They make money off of the seller but treat us as we are the villians.

Last month I sold an item that I admit was not completely cleared from my iCloud account. The buyer opened a case for a refund, I refunded the buyer and now the buyer resold the item to someone in Ukraine who’s been contacting me. I spoke with the buyer in Ukraine and they stated that they purchased the phone from a Ukrainian website similar to EBay. When I called EBay to notify them they stated that it was my fault for refunding the customer and that it was my duty to contact the customer because there is nothing that they can do. When I contacted the buyer, he lied and said that once he was refunded, he threw the phone away. When I confronted him about the new buyer contacting me, he just said that he was “sorry” but he contacted someone about returns and never got a response. Don’t sell or buy anything on the website, you won’t get the proper help if needed.

This is a review based on being a seller for Ebay. I have been a seller on Ebay for about 2 years. I feel like Ebay helps more of the customer rather then helping both the seller and the customer. Many times I have come across problems such as packages not arriving and Ebay does very little for the seller even though the tracking number is there. If you become a seller be smart with where you ship your items. Always get insurance with your items otherwise you will lose money like I did and in turn can make working for Ebay dreadful. I started selling on Ebay for some side cash and although I am grateful I can't help but feel the customer gets special privileges while the seller gets left out in the cold. I feel improvement is needed if they want to match Amazon because Amazon is way better at helping both the seller and the buyer. Amazon might swallow Ebay at some point because Ebay is lacking many things.

Ebay really has done quite well in COVID regarding being able to contact support for its sellers. The problem being that is all lost, all wasted if they are not supporting the sellers that sold 50,000 items (personally packaed every one by hand) and been with them over 20 years! When a buyer abuses an Ebay policy you can not then say ah yes we can see that's the case but we are going to make you personally pay for it - that's real abuse. You really after 20 years have not moved on your still operating in a Corporate bully boy way and the reason for that is because you can! And for that reason I removed 880 listings today and closed my shop - because I can - In fact it does not suit me at all in any way but otherwise I got to live with myself accepting you can cheat me and bully me because even though you know you are in the wrong you can do - disguisting absolutely horrible. You forced my hand because I otherwise feel I am accepting whatever even against your own policies you decide to throw at me and then you can treat me like worthless rubbish so you clearly tried and this time you can't, well not without some consequence. I hope this guides other people about how strongly your willing to support the policies you made up - In this case where you clearly know I'm in the right the policy is 100 percent worthless and you allow the buyer to abuse it at my expense. HOW CAN I TRADE WITH YOU - TELL ME

I bought steel hoses from eBay and they are faulty by design with a huge leak at the tap end. I tool a video and they are still for sale on the site (juchenshop). Ebay has not provided support. I am still owed $37 postage despite 65 messages between the seller and me. Ebay is not concerned about sellers’ compliance with ebay rules and does not provide an accessible way to involve them to resolve disputes.

I purchased a £330 used PC on eBay on October 16, choosing Click and Collect delivery. Tracking shows the item was delivered on October 19. I was never sent the collection code which eBay says I need in order to pick up items from Click and Collect locations. Around a week later the collection code still had not arrived so I raised a dispute with eBay. eBay ruled in the seller's favour, arguing that tracking showed the PC had been delivered to the click and collect location, and it was not their responsibility to make sure the click and collect location actually sends out collection codes allowing items to be collected. I then raised the case with Paypal, which agreed with eBay and ruled in favour of the seller. Around two weeks ago I called eBay and a customer service advisor said they had investigated, the cick and collect location had lost the item, and I should not be charged for an item which I had not received. She agreed to refund the balance from eBay's funds, within 24 to 48 hours, and to send an email confirming her decision. The email and refund did not arrive so I called again on Friday, November 6th. A second customer service advisor agreed to provide a refund from eBay's funds, and even sent an email confirming this decision. Yesterday, November 12th, there is still no refund. eBay first said the refund could not be issued because my Paypal dispute was still open. I called Paypal which confirmed it closed its dispute on November 2, so I called eBay again. eBay then said it had been wrong to say it would provide a refund, and that it could not and would not be refunding my money after all, as Paypal's decision was final. So eBay admits it owes me the money but is unwilling to provide the refund. I am amazed eBay can be so indifferent and chaotic. It has stolen more than £300 and is not interested in resolving the matter, blaming its own internal processes. If I charged somebody for a service, was unable to provide it and then said I would not provide a refund because of a problem with my own systems and processes I would expect to be shut down. I have documents to back all of this up and am determined to keep hassling eBay until it does the right thing and gives me my money back. I will then close my account and never do business with this hopeless setup again.

From being a faithful customer to a very disappointed one now. Very poor service provided by E-bay. Three items lost in less than two months. Nothing done about it: no responses, no refunds. A not trustable And recommended company.

I sold item on eBay. They sent a message saying my payment was on hold and the way to resolve it was to send the item out and provide a tracking number. I did just that and still have not been paid - There is no way to contact eBay just a bunch of articles to read. This is a horrible service and company. Now I am out 500 and my items. I feel so stupid right now

I bought a item off ebay which turned out to be very poor quality. Seller agreed to refund me but disappeared off ebay before refunding me. What really annoyed me was that it is impossible to contact ebay customer service.

Non-existent customer service. I purchased an electric oven burner and the seller refused a refund telling me it was a medical device. The seller refund policy was meant for medical devices and not for consumer products. I contacted eBay customer service and they decided to close-out the inquiry without contact the buyer. I can see you going out of business within years of this review. eBay, listen to your customers!

I use ebay but I always come back to feeling like it's such a headache and I hate it. The amount of bad items that I get and dont get a refund after I ship it out with their label is bad. If you have a problem and need to call them, good luck. Customer service e is the worst I've ever dealt with.

I proved to eBay with pics . how was my item before shipping and how was returned. They are scammers ! Don’t recommend this website like seller!!!
